Syneiro there so many of these resorts in and around the Catskills that refurbishment of any of them will never happen. The Catskills are cool for a hike. But just a little bit north you’re in the Adirondack Mountains which tends to be more of a week long/long weekend vacation. The mountains are thousands of feet taller. Resorts where you bring a camper or own a cabin on the property are what people do in 2020. In the summer there are multiple lake. Winter time there is skiing. There’s skiing in the Catskills. But they are in the Catskills Mountain State Park. Where Josh was at this resort was south east of the Catskills.
Orthodox Jews have bought some of these resorts. Refurbished them somewhat. But there’s are private resorts. If you’re not Hasidic you’re not invited. They open a casino/resort not far from this videos resort. It made it for a few years. But believe it closed. Just don’t have the demand of the 1950’s to the early 1990’s.

Arcadia Academy in Arcadia MO. Built in 1840, it has 18 buildings on 16 acres of land. The area itself is pretty isolated, so it's not a very well-known place. The creepy factor isn't so much on the outside, however, it immediately changes once you actually arrive through the doors. Before it was a Catholic school it was a Civil War hospital, and there are graves on the property as well. Student accounts report that Ruthless nuns used to run the academy after it was repurchased, and there are still nun dolls scattered around which in itself is weird. But the aura is definitely strong there, so it adds a suspenseful element when you're exploring. It's been years since I have been there though, and a friend told me new owners have recently been using certain buildings for random events or something. Not sure of that, however.

Josh, every few months, I watch all your videos from the last one I watched, to the most recent one uploaded at the current time. I only watched them when the house was silent for most of the day, and I watched them with a lot of relaxation, almost falling asleep, but not sleeping because I don't want to miss your videos.
Your videos bring me such relaxation and enjoyment that I have found out I _need_ to take that silent day to binge watch your videos from the last one to the most recent one at the time, so I make sure I'm not stressed. I have done this for years, and it's one of my favorite things to do. I have also found out, your videos help me with with my depression and I really appreciate your videos! I almost started to cry just thinking your channel and uploading these videos won't be around forever, even now I'm sad writing this comment, but I know theres a whole world to explore, although it's not something you may do.
    Thank you for reading. 🥺🥰

Another GREAT explore. During your explore you came across a old telephone and I think that you SHOULD have asked RNK if it was ok to use his dial tone effect for hanging up the phone in your videos because I think that would have been pretty cool for one of his effects to appear in your videos. The other highlight of your video was the infamous RED BED. I thought that it was pretty interesting that someone actually took the time to put a RED bedcover on that one bed in the suite. That was pretty dope. I also liked the bowling alley that you found as well. It’s safe to say that this resort had just about everything you could want at a resort. It was good to see one of the old resorts. I live about half an hour from the Catskills and have always found the history both exciting and sad. The NY Thruway is what killed the businesses by bypassing the original main roads in and taking folks to other areas more quickly, like Lake George and Saratiga, etc. These old places were mostly popular with Jewish families from NY City, and the movie Dirty Dancing was based on that era in the Catskills. Greene County has been desperate for economic growth ever since and is one of NY's poorest areas. Check out Sharon Springs while you're here. Big public, sulpher bath houses and remnants of those good old days. Lots of abandoned farms in the area and falling down Victorians and Greek Revivals. Original Erie Canal beds and boat locks not too far, either! NY Nana

Excellent video really good vibes and coverage of the resort thank you all. One odd thing about the bowling alley was how the lanes themselves weren't that bad.
The area often referred to as the "borscht belt" also was largely created due to exclusion of Jewish from many places. Which by the 60's also had changed considerably. Rodney Daingerfield who stayed and performed in the Catskills. Even makes a crack in Caddyshack in reference to exclusion, saying Wang don't tell them your Jewish.

As a new yorker, I would be great if Josh explored for places in new york. Also I would highly recommend going to Queens, there amazing abandoned army bases called Fort Tilden. The location was involved in so many battles since the war of 1912 but most of the abandoned building was from ww1 and cold war.

Wow, and it has changed since CJ Faison was there too it was a whole lot nicer than and that was 2 weeks or 3 weeks ago. It is so sad that people have to destroy things that are not theirs to destroy.

I really enjoyed you exploring the abounded hotel, the Homowack. I live about 25 min. From there and my dad work there when he was younger. It's nice to see something close by. Sad to see the state it came to, but so glad you guys went and checked it out and explored there.

Seeing that bowling alley really broke my heart. There aren't many original mid century bowling lanes left, and I remember that bowling alley was almost in salvageable condition not too long ago, but some vandals ruined it... Really made me sad

Josh, another great video... I don’t really have any one certain kind of explore that I like more than the others, but my least favorite are the trashed, moldy places. They gross me out. I can almost smell the mold! Lol. I miss Japan a lot. That is my #1 favorite place that you have gone to. ✌🏼❤️
