      @@madhankonar7922ah, i feel abit of pain reading this reply. But as a Beginner too i am also not sure but tbf playing CTF and watching this guys content on it seems a bit promising. But whatever you do, do not shy away too much from paying for a course or something similiar. Because it could be that you not paying for any course might make you lose more money than you would have saved, because of how it made you give up on cybersecurity, but you should do some research about the thing you are about to pay for first i would say. and dont get your research from only one person because that one person may be sponsering that course or whatever. Also Hack the Box and Try Hack Me are also apparently good

    I've never done a CTF... ever 😅 but been following your channel for some years 😅 Have learned a lot from seeing your videos, but it was scary at the beginning, not really understanding stuff
    This series will be great for people who want to get into this... it can be very hard and scary to start, so this is a very nice incentive and a good place to learn
    Love it, John! Tysm!

    John or Mr. Hammond I frankly don't know which to call you but here we are. I had one of your CTF videos show up on my feed in 2020 but the video itself was 2017! With watching over the year, you have introduced me into a new hobby and/or career! The skill set in which you posses is amazing! Showing those that are 'Getting their feet wet' how to start learning. Today after watching this video for like the 4th time, I have decided to finally start learning and working hands on with my brother whos teaching me! You showing the viewers...heck the WORLD, that we can start learning and practicing on our own with a great resource aid and hands on tools! M. Hammond, please never stop teaching or posting! This is some of the best inspiration I have ever gotten!!!! Thank you JOHN!!!

  • @JeffNoel
    @JeffNoel Před 3 lety +10

    That attitude of "no shame for taking hints" is what makes me so excited. I'm just beginning to learn stuff in pen testing and CTFs and I love LEARNING. I don't mind getting a prize, I just want to learn more stuff so later in life I can say "Oh, I saw that before" and know how to react when I see the thing again, whether it's an exploit or just a bug.
    Now, I'm a web dev so I already know a thing or two (especially the basics), but all your videos are just mezmerizing to me.
    You and NetworkChuck are the reason I'm trying to break into CTF VMs and getting better with Linux and terminals and now I can apply that knowledge at work, so thanks a lot !

    It's funny, I've listened to you off and on for two years. At first I knew you were trying, but I really couldn't follow you. Now that my job has given me more experience and I have a couple of certs under my belt I was looking to expand my hands on skills with CTFs (because I remembered you saying it was the way to get started and really learn). I kept asking coworkers and nobody really seemed to help. Then I got stuck at home for a couple of days and stumbled across this video of yours and BAM I'm actually in the game! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for making the content you make. I'm a retired USAF flyer and my new job has me loving Cyber Security as a topic and field. Your videos have helped me with alot of concepts and direction!
