  • INDEX MATCH with multiple criteria lets you accurately look up and return values, even in the absence of unique identifiers. This level of precision isn't possible with other lookup formulas (like VLOOKUP) without the added hassle of inserting helper columns. In this video, I'll walk you through three easy steps to ensure you get it right every time 😊
    🕒 TIMESTAMPS
0:00 INDEX MATCH with multiple criteria
0:26 Step 1: Write a normal INDEX MATCH formula
    3:21 Step 2: Change lookup_value to 1
4:00 Step 3: Write the criteria
5:34 INDEX MATCH with 3 or more criteria

Hello, thank you for this video. It was so hard to find the answer to this since I didn't know how to word it. Worked perfectly and now I even understand how these functions work.

Can this formula be used to find a value within a min/max amounts line in two columns, with one match criteria, to return a value from a table array?

This guide works for ALL versions of Excel. But if you don't have Excel 2021 or newer, you must press Ctrl + Shift + Enter when you're done with the formula instead of just Enter 😊

@@megaisnaeni6348 you used sumif for the same exact example he gave? What are you trying to sum? This is a "vlookup" alternative tho
