- Here is a clip from Suddha Nrittam performed by Harinie Jeevitha under the auspices of Sri krishna Gana Sabha - Jan 6, 2019
Suddha Nrittam- a classic creation of Mahaguru Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer- an engaging dialogue between the Mridangam and the dancer's anklets.
Attempting to emulate the pattern devised by the Mahaguru, we present Suddha Nrittam today- composed by Mridanga Vidwan Sri Guru Bharadwaaj. Since the five Jaathis will be presented in detail, this piece extends up to a time span of more than 15 minutes.
At this juncture, we would like to convey our heartfelt thanks to Smt. Revathi Ramachandran, a pioneer of the Suddha Nrittam tradition, for her invaluable inputs and expert guidance.

This Nrttyangana, the Harini (Sridevi) of Bharathanatyam is a veritable Tapasvini ! Having absorbed like a sponge from her worthy Guru and having mastered it with a commitment and effort that is remarkable, with humility writ on her face - she is offering this Shuddha Nrtta at the feet of Nataraja, whose Nrtta is this Creation (and whose time-keeper is Nandikeshwara)!
This time-space appreciation as Ishvara (Chidambara Rahasya), is so wonderfully brought out through this splendid Nrtta by this devoted child!
The composer, whose composition are the words (Sound/Nada) for this experience, through the Mrdangam - seem inseparable from the Nrtta of the Nrttyangana, which is the meaning of it - even as a word and its meaning are identical.
In foot-work, she is as fleet-footed as Harini (Deer)! Blessed is the teacher, and blessed are the Rasikas who have witnessed this directly.
My sincere gratitude to Smt. Sheela Amma for this presentation, and all the stupendous effort in perfection that has gone into bringing it to us 'distant' witnesses, converting the experience into 'immediacy'. You have harnessed technology to the best result, and deserve all praise!
May this blessed child Harinie blossom into a worthy representative of the Lord of Dance, Shri Nataraja, and in deepening our appreciation of Ishvara!

As a westerner, I am not able to understand the roots of this Art - hopefully my dear far away friends will forgive me for that. What amazes me is the level of mastery of this dancer and those ones who taught her.
@@nation4175 Indeed rightly said, the level of mastery and commitment are stupendous! The roots are in the understanding of the Cosmic dance (of Manifestation, Dynamic Sustenance, and Dissolution) in the Universe - and appreciation of the One Material and Efficient Cause of it as the 'Dancer'!
While numbers like this (Shuddha-Nrtta), purely deal with that phenomenon as such (in space-time), all others deal with the relationship between the Individual and the Total (the Cosmic Dancer - the Cause - called Nataraja).

Okay so I don't know if anyone else noticed this but around the middle of the video performance one of the strings on Harinie's ankle bracelet started to come loose and she could feel it yet she still danced and at the end she was able to tie it up again. Amazing.
After seeing a lot of Harinie's dance videos, I'm unable to watch other Bharathanatiyam dance performances... the perfection here is just amazing, not to mention the bhavam she exudes ! Thank u so much for sharing the videos

I was privileged to view this performance by Harinie live in Chennai. Simply breathtaking. I wish you could have added the segment where she so gracefully sits down to adjust her salangai straps without affecting her performance. Her amazing presence of mind to alter the choreography without disturbing her performance requires a standing ovation. Hats off !!

I just can't stop watching this performance! THE LEVEL OF PERFECTION! hOW DOES ONE BE SO SO MUCH PERFECT?! I just wish I could meet her once! She always inspires you with her performances! Also never ever does Harinie Ma'am's performances intimidate you, you just feel the urge to start dancing whatever little you know the moment you see this legend in action. I truly believe that is the best kind of inspiration you could ever provide to someone else!

GOOD GOD, Harinie is the best dancer I have ever seen, she is just so gracefull!!!!! But I think the nattuvangam is essential in any item, it kind of, let's say it amplifies whatever is played on the mridangam, and clarifies which aduvu to perform, but this composition of Sri Guru Bharadwaaj is just, WOW!!!!!!!!!!
