    None of us are young anymore but I hope we still cherish our youth in our hearts. I am so glad I lived the life I lived, from wandering around the world for years to marrying and having 4 beautiful children. 45 years married to the same guy.

    I guess you could say both Sandy & Trevor have stayed forever young.......Just such a sad, sad loss though that they gone and at a such a young age.I don't know it just strikes me in a strange way sometimes that here they were married and lost in such tragic circumstances. Georgia lost both her parent's when she was so young.

    Sandy underrated her wonderful voice and inflections. She wrote some great songs. Joni Mitchell is so famous and well-regarded that no one will object if I say I prefer Sandy's contained voice and thoughtful lyrics to Joni's voice and lyrics. Jazz muscians record Joni's songs so she's doing OK critically. The lyrics of Sandy, Fairport and most folk songs are those of senstive honest people and are the voice of those who don't benefit from unfair economic systems.

    • @lanabanana68
      @lanabanana68 Před 7 lety +2

      i won't object,with the exception of big yellow taxi and i met you on a midway and clouds (possibly a couple of others i will remember later) Joni is a dreadful singer.I loved her when very young but only becaue i had yet to discover Janis,and i didn't discover Sandy until i was in my early 30s.Many artists are better songwriters than they are singers.With age,Jonis voice has deepened to such a degree that i heard her somewhere and thought it was a man singing her song,until corrected.Sandy had such an emotive quality to her singing aswell as the sheer beauty of her voice itself.Very rare and very special.People these days do not know how to sing,believing eroneously that the louder and more you oversing the better singer you will be seen as,it's just horrid..hence all my favourite singers are dead.

      I knew them both personally (we lived in the same village) and Trevor was a fun bloke. I never saw him behave badly but I'm sure Sandy's drug habit caused them problems. My greatest regret was that Sandy did a free concert for villagers but I couldn't go for some stupid reason (a girl probably) and Sandy died very shortly afterwards. Shocked!

    Listen to the early albums: Dylan changed the way people sing. He is raw and often harsh, He did not intend to be a sweet insipid singer He grates , he invents: he's changed music so everyone can, with talent, make their own music. There are lots of examples, Tom Waites comes to mind. Good God,to compare Dylan with Trevor Lucas is like comparing Norman Rockwell with Van Gogh
