  • Over the years one the most consistent questions I’ve had at events and seen on social media is “how much can you resize an embroidery design?”. For this reason, I decided to film this video tutorial to show you how to properly resize your embroidery designs using embroidery software.
    I’m always amazed at the range of answers I hear. Some people will say, “you shouldn’t resize embroidery designs at all”, some preach safely 10% up or down, others 20%, or 30%. Some resize to the point that there is no limit.
    In this video learn how to finally resize embroidery designs and the proper rules and theory behind doing it!

    Thank you John; what this video has taught me is that I need to know more about the types of stitches and the rules that need to be considered when resizing. Back to the drawing board and re watching your previous videos on the subject. The lucky thing is that I do have Hatch V2 software based upon your videos watched in the past year, when I bought my single needle machine.

      That's the great thing about videos, you can rewatch them! :) Resizing shouldn't be a problem if you're using Hatch 2, just keep practicing! Thanks for watching :)

    I have been able to resize down using my Singer software. But I do it in baby steps. 2% at a time and save in between. Takes a lot of patience.

    What software do I need to do the Carica photo? and what software do i need to do a Photostitch
    Thank you

    • @EmbroideryLegacy
      @EmbroideryLegacy  Před 3 lety

      CaricaStitch designs are manually digitized using Hatch, it isn’t a software feature like photo stitch which is found in Hatch and many other programs.

    So, how to change size of an imported photo that is made to stiches in the program? When I do that and make it smaller, the machine just keeps sewing in place and then stops.

    • @EmbroideryLegacy
      @EmbroideryLegacy  Před 3 lety

      Emelie Rosberg if you’re talking about auto-digitized designs they never have great results. Simply making a design smaller will make it more stitch intensive and cause problems. Learning to the rules and theory of digitizing will make you a better embroiderer. There are limitations when dealing with thread.
