Sit back and enjoy this wonderful symphony of history, provided by the late Paul Allen, featuring his Focke-Wulf 190A-5/U3, Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3, Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vc, Hawker Hurricane Mk. XIIa, de Havilland DH.98 T.III Mosquito, and Mitsubishi A6M3-22 Zero as they start up and depart for an absolutely epic photo shoot with legendary aviation photographer, John Dibbs. August 26th, 2017 is the final fly day for the 2017 season, and will feature aircraft of the European Theater. In addition to the 5 British and German fighters mentioned here will be the American P-51D Mustang and Republic P-47D thunderbolt.

It's a good thing that they didn't erase the swastika logo on the Messerschmitt Bf 109 to make it more authentic.
to this day I don't understand why are they doing it
Sadly, context is a concept that the perma-offended cannot even begin to grasp.
Only in Germany aircraft cannot have the swastika if being flown.
Fw190 is just one badass evil looking machine, especially on the ground with that wide gear. What a brilliant design.
For me, this would have been the "Airshow of a Lifetime". I've all my life, admired these aircraft masterpieces !
Me too. Wish i could see these in real life.
c'était le bon vieux temps
The De Havilland Mosquito. Twin Merlins and in the attack roll ? They put an anti tank gun on it. 400 plus miles an hour on the deck in a wooden wonder. Crews would come back with tops of trees in the landing gear. Thank you Cabinet Makers!
What an absolute spectacular scene to witness! Just wish I was there instead of watching through a screen!! Hats off to getting these beautiful airplanes air worthy!! It's an astonishing achievement!!! 👍🏼
The frustrating part is that this museum is operated like they think they're Skunk Works. Never tell anyone of any upcoming flights and keep everything hush-hush. I was the ONLY person out there with a camera to see this as it was the day before an airshow they were going to put on. The 190 broke down, so it didn't fly at the show, making me the only person who has footage of authentic, restored, Bf 109, Fw 190, Spitfire, Hurricane, and Mosquito in the air together. It was a photo op and they didn't even do a single formation pass.
Some of the most beautiful and iconic warbirds ever built. What a line up 👌👍
Hard to imagine these birds in their prime. The BF-109's and FW 190's coming up to face off against the Allied bomber formations and escorts, The Hurricanes and Spitfires coming up for the fifth time in the same day with exhausted pilots to defend their territory, the Mosquitos paving the way with flares as Pathfinders, or perhaps as fleet defense or a low level strike. The A6M also performing a number of roles, but mostly as escort and CAP. Neat to see them all in the same place at the same time with their differing sounds. Amazing warbirds. With our modern jets and fancy crap, it's hard to see these airframes as killers, but that's they were, purpose built killers in their day, all of them heart stopping to see by their respective enemies in their own right. What a sight.
What a superb collection of rare aircraft that fly,a good video with no background music except the growl of those engines !
Growl-Roar. Et kæmpe brøl af en stor motor. Sound for me like good musik
Pardon my Danish languise. What a great Sound of great Engines.
You see what a big single seat aircraft the Hurricane is- not sleek but pugnacious, and despite having no development potential its basic inherent design kept it performing until the end of WW2 in a whole host of roles that no other aeroplane could match in terms of overall versatility. It won its reputation as a classic machine for so many reasons.
Now that's a sight I Don't think anyone ever thought they would see
The mosquito was the fastest plane in the world at some point in world war 2. What a beautiful bit of furniture it is!
Well, not as fast as the Me 262 but one of the fastest piston engine planes.
Absolute Spitze, was für Maschinen, diese Eleganz, diese Kraft, dieser tolle Klang der Motoren, schön das solche Maschinen gepflegt und gehegt werden
All magnificent i agree.
The Focke-Wulf 190 is so beautiful! My second favorite aircraft, only to the Spitfire
The Mosquito is my favorite aircraft from the war :) So nice seeing all these old warbirds flying together
2 spitfires is better than one :)), thing was a rocket
Mosquito is my favorite too! Such bliss to see a fully-restored one start up and fly! :)
To many WWII pilots, their favorite plane was the PBY-as seen from the ocean!
bloody german rubbish!
The craziest war stories came home with those planes. Pieces of trees, pieces of wire and aerials, pieces of grass, mud, etc etc stuck to the underside of the body. goddamn pilots had balls of steel
Wow... pure gold.
It just doesn't get any better than that. An audio visual feast!
All authentic, with their original engines and airworthy.
Thanks a lot!
We have to keep these magnificent machines flying, to pay respect for those who maintained them and those who flew them!
It was a great experience to be there and see all of these incredible warbirds in the air at the same time. Thanks to all the staff, crew and pilots and to Paul Allen for sharing!
Simply wonderful imagery of these great old warbirds. The engine sounds are unforgettable. Thank you for sharing.
Talk about being impossible to choose between them...Every single one is an absolute work of art!
Wow! Its like watching my Airfix airforce bought to life after 60 years. Thank you so much.
Thank you for uploading this! Brings a tear to my eye to see all of the aircraft fly together.

So much history in one place. I got chills.
Flugzeuge in perfection, das Design, der Sound , die Motoren ....die Motoren !!!!!!!! WOW !!!!!
Thank you so much for recording and posting that.
I have a secret. An unfulfilled passion to fly, ideally in a Spitfire or Mosquito.
I grew up near RAF Biggin Hill so have see 4 of these aircraft fly, the Spit and Hurri quite often, but not for very many years.
Somehow life took a different direction, today I find I've become a 'marine' artist...
Still, just great to see this brief film.
Gordon Frickers get into DCS flight sim. For a not unreasonable amount you can equip with stick, throttle and rudders, a decent 6 core, high quality graphics computer and fly the Spit, P 51, Focke Wulf or ME 109 very cheaply. You even get the immersion of doing it in 1944 Normandy. It is my retirement hobby and I am loving getting used to the Spit MK IX. Just brilliant.

I flew in a Spit at Biggin Hill two weeks ago. The pilot let me do two victory rolls over the Cliffs of Dover, out over the Channel. If you haven't done it yet, go for it!!!! Amazing.
Pure solid gold you filmed here. First time a BUFF got overshadowed so easily (barely background filler)
Wish I could have seen these beautiful old figthers for real. I have seen the Blenheim though which was great.
All great aircraft; but the Spitfire still wins. Beautiful, fast and unique.
Hurricane, 109, 190, and A6M had more kills than the Spitfire.
Agree, beautiful looking plane, and that sound!!!
getting a flying stuka with the sirens on, that would be awesome at air shows
Would be great, wouldn't it? Sadly there are only two original and complete examples left in the World. One in the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry and one at the RAF Museum in Hendon, London, although this example is currently in storage pending development of the museum. When the 'Battle of Britain' film was made in 1968 two Percival Prentice aircraft were converted to look like Stukas but they were considered too dangerous to fly so large scale radio controlled models were used instead. Most of these got blown up during the filming!
This same museum, Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum, is rumored to have a Stuka in the works to fly. I've heard reports from several sources there is a Junkers being worked on by Mike Nixon of Vintage V-12's. With FHCAM finishing so many projects recently, maybe some of these back-burner projects can get closer to completion. Perhaps?
I cannot wait!
Fight to Fly Photography If thats true that would be AWESOME! Lets wish those rumours are true :)
Hope will be available to rent for mother-in-law fly/dive overs..
Love the Zero.
Diese herrlichen alten Flugzeuge, früher Feinde jetzt in Formationsflug, mir stehen die Tränen in den Augen, einfach herrlich!
What a superb collection. Six true legends. Thanks for posting.
So good to see these warbirds flying.
All these wonderful warbirds in one place (yes, even a Zeke). That folks is a plane-gasm!
Love the 190 and 109 and the zero
Crazy that the same aircrafts were shooting each other to pieces just over 70 years ago. Now flying side by side. Can't imagine what a joy it was to fly them!
Some very very rare air worthy legends :) Great job to the teams keeping them flying thank you!
Wow! My Favourite is the BF109. But this line up is just wonderful. Great Planes! Great Video. Thank you
Great video of this marvellous collection of old war birds. Just fabulous!
Thank you so much. This is the first time I've seen these legendary fighter planes in SuperHD. Recommended.
There's a whole lot of awesome in one video :)
Wow! Seeing all these iconic aircraft flying together is a real treat. The genuine DB-engined ME109; the Japanes aeroplane; and even the Mosquito, with it's unique twin-Merlin sound ( and successful landing.) We are really lucky to see these. Thank you so much for posting this video.
Fantastic to see these old aircraft so well looked after and to see them in their natural elements.
oh my life, the most perfect airplane ever, in my opinion, the Mossie. my heart just melts when I see this aircraft. it is just perfection.
An orchestra of sight and sound :)
My favorite is the fw 190 but I respect all of these aircraft of course🤩🥳
I love the cloudy day with the planes
Wow! This is a truly amazing vid - the whole thing. I was entranced, and it put a lump in my throat. I love the war birds and this vid so nicely shows the whole process in getting off the ground & landing. VERY nicely done!
Thank you.
Some BEAUTIFUL airplanes
Totally awesome ...beautiful plane too.great video..
I've always been impressed by the British know how to put a fighter with material skin and a wooden fighter that were so good.
I sincerely hope that this Museum keeps getting funded for a Long time to come, and hence will be able to maintain These beauties in flying condition.
The German Fw190 and Bf109 are the most beautifull and looks also the most intmidating once.
Oh yes. Since i was a kid there has not been and there won't be anything that's more awesome than WW2 airplanes. Beautifull.
Hurricane for me..took a right pounding and could get up quick..did the dirty work.
Stephen Auty. God damn good, kite.
The Spitfire got up quicker had a higher kill ratio and lower loss ratio.
Agree, held the line. Long before the Spit came on the scene.
Hurricanes actually shot down more Luftwaffe aircraft than all spitfires and other aircraft and ground defences combined during ww2.... Yet its overlooked in favour of the showy spitfire. Now don't get me wrong, I have huge admiration for all the ww2 aircraft and crews that flew them, on both sides. Just so sad the backbone of the RAF doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
@@Dixplat No it did not! In the Battle of Britain, yes! But then there were twice as many Hurricanes and the Spitfires had to take on the more elusive BF.109Es The Spitfire carried on to win air superiority over Malta and North Africa, then went on to being the premier fighter in NW Europe. A principle carrier interceptor. and the main fighter used to keep air superiority over Italy, northern France, Holland, northern Germany Norway and Denmark. Anyway, It's the de Havilland Mosquito that was the best of the lot. Its combat history is second to none.
Beautiful! All of them.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What a superb setup all these aces together in a show. Imagine the excitement if we the passionate where there. At least smelling the exhaust and hearing the noise of their engines.
Thanks for sharing.
Just LOVE the Mos and the Spit,of course!
The most authentic, iconic line up I’ve ever seen, just the ‘51 missing. Many thanks.
It really is such a shame their fly-day fell apart. The lineup was supposed to be all of these (minus Zero) PLUS the Mustang and Thunderbolt, but from all of this flying, the 190 had engine problems and couldn't fly, the Mustang landed after the second pass, and the flying was extremely short. Hoping they can rectify things next season. This had the potential to be the best fly day ever.
How could 35 people dislike this ? Brilliant bit of footage. Loved it. I'm not partisan: I love aircraft from all World War II combatants. All interesting in their own way. Spit, Messer, Wulf, and Mossie all together was a treat!
Now that's a line up that will take some beating! In the beauty contest. . .I go for the Spitfire!
I'd love to work there!! I'm starting Aviation Maintenance School on September 18th. WWII airplanes will always be my favorite!
ryan moeller That's awesome, man! How's it going so far?
Wow a Mosquito . That is so rare . It still amazes me the creative solution to build the most versatile aircraft in WW II and the best .
Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum is in the USA. Yes, it's not obvious. Great to watch. Thanks.
great video, Nice to see the legendary Mosquito thanks.
A two-seater Zero? Didn't know such an animal existed. Outstanding video, thanks so much.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vc has to be my ultimate favorite, but I love all these awesome planes. Each one has its own charisma that fires the imagination, and stirs the soul. My uncle used to weld the canopies on Spitfires back in the day, and I remember my friend speaking about how they had the blueprints of the Spitfire on the wall of their office.. he was a drafting guy before the days of CAD in the 1940's.
Really fabulous video, and they all got down safely. Keep history going. My Dad was a Swordfish rear gunner with 825 Squadron, went in the drink twice and survived, I’m lucky to be here. Thank you for showing these great aircraft.
We went to tank feast and there airshow last year was freaking killer! We are going back this year for sure
Vor ca. 80 Jahren haben sich junge Männer mit diesen Flugzeugen gegenseitig auf Leben und Tod bekämpft, heute fliegen diese Legenden friedlich in Formation.......
Its so awesome to see fhese iconic planes all together and even better for me because my great grandfather was a navigator for the 571 mosquito squadron
Opino :
Pedro Aylwin Del Rio
5:50 I am proud that there is a Czech flag because I am Czech
Great show! I would have loved to see a P-47 and P-51 flying with that group to round out the field.
Maybe a P-38, too
Superb video, these aircraft are a joy to see. Thank you
Showed world powers on the same airstrip- That was an epic show of classand awesomeness
All I can say is WOW
Воины Второй мировой войны всё так же в строю и готовы ринуться в бой. Браво людям сохранившим историю наследникам.
I watched from beginning to end. What an amazing gathering of aircraft! Music would have ruined this video. I can appreciate the sound of the aircraft...
Here's hoping they can pull it off for the air show and not just a photo flight this year. As amazing as this was to experience, it would have been truly epic to see them all making low passes over the field. Date for next year is August 25th.
The sounds of the aircraft is the music.
watching these warbirds take to the air reminds me of 663 squadron Battle of Britain 12 o clock high back when they used the real thing when possible can you imagine what was like with mass formations coming together in close quarter combat thank you for this video Bruce
Great recording Tony of those marvellous planes so lovingly cared for.
Would be brilliant to be able to fly ALL of these legends , what's not to like ?? Both the Spitfire & the 109 would be more of a challenge to land safely , with the narrow track undercarriage.
The spitfire is easy to land, you just come in low and slow and literally let it land itself.
Great pieces of flying history here and you have got to love all of them flying around these days.
Some of the best engine start up and take off audio on this video . I've been around a lot of them . The difference between radial and v is way different . 👍
What a spectacle. As I teenage boy I have build most of the WW2 fighters as 1:72 Modells, and a few of tzhe larger aircraft beecause I couldn't afford them. There was no youtube...if I would have seen that movie back then, I would have been collapsed out of excitement
Superb. So nice to see these, just like the Airfix kits I use to make as a kid. The Zero is the odd one out with the rear gunner.
Simply outstanding in every way. And thanks for Not adding music.
Now that's history, God Bless all of our men & women who have served & and are still serving today...God is good all the time... God Bless....
Those iconic, beautiful aircraft, all together - wonderful!
Mosquito!
I remember reading about a Luftwaffe fighter base in Germany during the Second World War where the pilots used to sit around and watch a Photo Reconnaissance Mosquito fly over high and fast.
They got a bit fed up and decided to have a contest - a bottle of Hennessy would be the prize for the pilot who downed this upstart who was thumbing his nose at them.
After a few attempts, someone managed to bounce him from high and downed the Mossie.
There was a bit of celebrating at the base but also some worry about the RAF pilot who bravely flew an unarmed aircraft over Germany. Did he get out?
Amazingly he parachuted out, was captured and brought to their airfield!
The Luftwaffe pilots shared the bottle of Hennessy with him.
I can't remember a mention of a navigator though, did they fly solo to save weight?
Stories like this go to show that German combatants weren't all SS monsters and chivalry certainly wasn't dead - particularly amongst aircrew.
Yes Great to see them all together . FW looks so tiny ! (Unless he's a big guy pilot !? ) Nice to see a flying Zero ,looks like a lovely, floaty aircraft judging by that landing .. Wales UK
Very cool! thanks!
lest we forget!
Saw a REAL restored B-17 overfly once years ago in California. VERY thrilling to see/hear !
+David Jones This museum is also building a B-17.
I hope to one day see this again. Hopefully FHCAM reopens soon. Longtime member and pray Paul’s sister lets this museum live on
I hope to see this even for the first time.
If I would have been driving along in that road behind the runway when those six beautiful aircraft were out there running up I believe I would have wrecked the car, no possible way to look anywhere else, not with those planes. I sure would have thought I was dreaming seeing six of the most rare and iconic aircraft on the planet sitting there waiting to take off, all in one place at one time. Like the mosquito, I think there's only one or two in the world still flying, same with the Zero and 190 if not mistaken, as I've been known to be from time to time, lol. I know the CAF had or has a 190A they were slowly returning to flight condition but don't know where they are on that. As it was some time ago, and that 190s of any flavor are so very rare I suppose there's a better than good chance this might be that one. I am going to have to see now, gosh look at the work you've caused me! Lol. One final thing. This looks alot like Carswell AFB in Ft Worth, I know they still fly lots of fighters out of there but thought they moved all the BUFFs to other bases after the dissolution of SAC. Either im wrong about the 52s being rebased or wrong about this being Carswell, wrong about something in there definitely thought. Any help with that question, of where this was shot, would be appreciated as I'm very curious. Thank you for an awesome video. Anytime anyone of these aircraft flies should be documented for history, much less all togather. There's going to be a sad sad day sooner now rather than later when it becomes impossible to fly any warbird, lack of critical parts, plain worn out, or due to attrition. I recently saw an F6F crash and burn due to catastrophic engine failure, sad sad sad watching it explode in a million pieces, tears your heart out, mine anyway...
This was shot at Paine Field in Everett, Washington. The airfield at which Boeing builds and delivers 747s. The Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum (www.flyingheritage.com/) flies many of their vintage planes during the summer. In addition to what you saw in this excellent video, they routinely fly their P-47, B-25, P-51, Storch, Il-2, and F6F. They also often have visiting aircraft that fly with the museum's aircraft. They have a 262 currently in restoration, with the intent of flying it. (My understanding is that they are having issues with one of the engines.) They typically have one "fly day" each month from late Spring to early Fall, and fly 3 to 5 planes at a time. Its a very nice museum. Its very family friendly. Well worth a visit.
spitfire and mosquito, the 2 best planes ever conceived!
Nowhere near as good as the Ta-152 and the Do-335
IMHO The Mosquito, in the air, was the most elegant, graceful airplane ever designed. Art in motion. Could haul ass, too.
The FW190 is a beautiful airplane.
Thanks for all the work and expenses born to keep so much history so alive. Thanks for putting together this video. Wish I weren't too poor to support you. Do you have a Patreon?
Thank you, man, that means a lot! I do not have a Patreon, BUT a way that you can support me is just watching, sharing, and enjoying the videos and allowing a few of the ads to play all the way through. I'm a broke-ass myself, so I totally get it. :-) Of course, you can also check out some of the shirts and things I make by clicking on the Merch Bar right above the comments section.
Absolutely Amazing fighter planes
Ironically, I have all these aircraft in radio control form.. To me they are of the greatest to watch.!
