Yeah... all these interactions between human beings happening while they can be thousands of kilometres away from each other at the same time... It probably disgusts him lol
I love how this could only happen because she just kept trying to be polite. Like, sure your instructor is probably a cultist and your classmate's skin seems to shift and leave permanent marks against your skin, but it's rude to just run away before class is over.
Jep, this is the reason you should teach your children to be safe before teaching them to be polite. I know this is an evil entity and maybe nothing could have been done either way but I hate it when children get indoctrinated with always beeing polite to strangers even if they make them uncomfortable (you have to hug your uncle even if you don´t feel safe with him) and then the parents wonder how they got kidnapped or molested.
If you feel unsafe you should always go no matter how rude it seems.

His actions are adorable in a scary way
AND he sculpted the Distortion!!! :')
Statement Giver: I sent an E-mail talking about leaving due to inappropriate behavior, and my safety net was booted from the class, Gabriel kept on happily shaping, and the teacher, Ray, now refused to actually teach the class. Gabriel must be the villain here.
He just wanted a frend to show his sculpture's to 😅
Ya know peter is a lot more... emotive than I'd expect of someone serving the lonely
it sounds so faked, though... and sinister
Sometimes it's easier to cover up the loneliness with a mask of joy and playfulness. Or maybe he just is *happy* being alone in the first place.
If you've ever dealt with depressed individuals who have learned to hide it, this is absolutely normal. As for me, it's personal experience plus dealing with them. Knowing Peter's motivations makes me want to throw him into the Vast and see how much he enjoys the isolation while he's rushing at terminal velocity.

poor baby martin :(
LET HIM SEE JON!!
Is no one gonna mention that Gabriel is apparently friends with Michael and is connected to the circus???
I think he was friends with the door??? like this statement is before the great twisting?
I may be wrong, but I think Gabriel may have been the Distortion before Michael; even if he wasn't, he probably didn't know our "Michaela' specifically at that point in time. Michael never gave a specific date for the trip to Sannikov Land in his statement, and since Jon speculated that this statement may have been what helped Gertrude form her plan, I heavily doubt Michael was the Distortion at the time the events in this statement took place.
the circus?????
I got confused about this. Apparent I was mixing up the Stranger and the Spiral. Stranger includes the circus, the uncanny valley, "something's not right", "I do not know you". The Spiral is the doors, madness and lies, deceit, fractals and hallucinations, "it is not what it is". So the Spiral is more about being wrong about something one thought one knew, and the Stranger is more about unfamiliarity.
That is to say, Gabriel is part of the Spiral and so was Michael/Helen, and neither of them are part of the circus.
i miss michael

It's funny how the Eye seems to only be interested in statements regarding the other entities. Keeping in mind that they're all aspects of one being... is the Eye the being's self-reflection?
Eye look in the mirror and eye see my I.
I'm not sure they're all an aspect of the same being, especially with the rivalry between factions and how dead set they are on sabotaging each other's rituals. I took Gerry's anthill explanation to mean that the books, the creatures, and the events can all be a part of the same entity despite seeming entirely different at a first glance.
@@himeow7454 Its not that they're all aspects of the same being. Its that there is fear, and there are specific flavours of fear. Sometimes they kind of mix together and you get stuff like, say Thrown Away or Binary. The books, the avatars, the monsters, they're all ways that fear makes itself manifest in the world. But to say that there is one being that all the fears are a part of is not accurate.

NEVERMIND
@@f_mva lol 😆
Spiral is... Is it madness? I can never really understand it. It bends reality, sure, but so does every other fear. Any of you have any idea on what Spiral really is?
All the powers bend reality to their own specific way. The Stranger makes you unable to recognise anything, sort of gives reality itself dementia. The Vast just makes things b i g g e r. The Dark just manifests things in the dark. The Spiral, I always assumed, gave meaning to meaningless things, and those meanings are horrifying. Think those people who see jesus in pancakes and then make Jesus Yog Sothoth. Its a very stimulus based fear.
Huh... That makes sense... Thanks for the insight.
I think the Spiral is indeed madness. The fear that your own senses are unreliable, that the world isn’t real but how could it not be? I’m not sure if it’s entirely aligned with the others, but I think there’s at least a little bit of that in all of them. Keep in mind I’m not entirely sure. But if I had to guess, that feeling of “This Is Impossible” is sort of like... spices with the others, while the Spiral is one massive red pepper. I think?
The Spiral is madness, hallucination, paradox. It Is Not What It Is. The Stranger deals with seeming, a thing that is a real thing but has a superficial layer to look like something else, to conceal and deceive, it is the Uncanny Valley effect given life. The Spiral can, among its other things, make your senses bend themselves around the wrong way so you're unsure if you're seeing something for real; the Stranger will just present its disguise and let you mistake yourself. It's the difference between internal and external.
Here's something that just popped into my head. The Stranger is "I can't trust any of you", The Spiral is "I can't trust my own senses"
It's episodes like this that remind me that none of them signed up for this. Jon was working some fairly mundane job at the institute when Elias saw him walk by and said "YOU. YOU ARE GOING TO BE THE NEXT COMING OF OUR GOD THE BEHOLDING" and Jon was like "shit. Kay can I have some help?" Which I can only imagine Elias cackling madly to himself about before agreeing
I know its scary but Bill being made of clay made me absolutely lose it in laughter

Ok, for the record. I liked Elias, even after everything that's happened. Sure, he was a scheming manipulative bastard, but he was our scheming manipulative bastard. And at least he had style. We have enough problems in the archives with the Eye and everything, we really don't need the Lonely there too, especially not with Martin! Don't hurt him like this!!! Completely isolating him from everyone is so much worse than giving him a bit of trauma. They have enough already, that's nothing new, but cutting him off from everyone is *not* okay.
