As I sit inside and it's -18 below outside it was fun to watch this motovlog from the past with you test riding your SGS (which you now own). Not sure you've come up with a new name for the SGS yet. But in any event, thanks again for the invited ride-along. Ba-bye back atch'cha.

My favorite colors are the denim with the red stripe. The Special is the way to go. I rode one at a Demo. Loved it.
I only shift to 1st when I'm stopped. That whine lets me know I'm in too low of a gear for the speed I'm at.

Congrats on a new bike. Traded my Roadking for a 2015 Denim Black Roadglide Special in October. and never looked back. Already have 6,600 miles on her.
Linked breaks are good and you hardly notice if you apply proper breaks to begin with. The linked breaks disengages lower than 20 mph..
Well good for you Shawn! She's a beauty! Would love to hear your thoughts on the Chieftain from your Yosemite ride but know you have to respect issues that could be compromising. Look forward to all that will follow for sure! :)
Holy shit a new street glide!!!!!
(Cont) I had no buffering issues at all which I did on the Streetglide. I've heard people say (mostly Streetglide owners) that they handle the same and that is BS!! The Roadglide noticeably handles better than the Streetglide. I liked the dash layout better and being 6'1 I liked that it was more stretched out with the radio controls further away. I felt cramped on the Streetglide while I felt stretched out and relaxed on the Roadglide. I now own a 2016 Roadglide Special in Black Quartz and couldn't be happier. Everyone says the bike looks mean with the dual daymaker headlights (another advantage for the RG). Once my wallet recovers the customizing will begin. Also, I LOVE heel shifting and advise anyone buying a bike with a H/T shifter try it before u remove it. Last thing. You talk about blipping the throttle with Fuel Injection. Blipping has nothing to do with FI it's to rev match the engine and tranny so when you release the clutch the engine breaking doesn't lock up the rear wheel.
Hi Shawn and hello everybody. I just discovered your vlogs at the end of this winter just a couple of months ago. I put myself in the market for a new bike, looking to trade my 2014 Streetbob for a bigger. I was really struggling with the decision whether to get a Streetglide or a Roadglide. I watched this video A Lot! I scheduled a test ride for a 2015 Streetglide denim black. I rode it and liked it a lot. Your review was very accurate. Good power, strong brakes, and oohh the handling. I was thinking how much $$$! We got back and I was walking into the dealership all set to buy. Then my eyes caught a customized 2015 Roadglide Special. It looked REALLY nice. My dealer said he had a few and it would be no problem if I wanted to ride it too. I said why not but I really want the Streetglide. We went out and all I can say is OMG. The choice became apparent within 5 min...Roadglide Special FTW. You are correct that the shark nose fairing works really really well. (Cont.)
hey Shawn....i just turned 69 and bought first Harley ( Street Glide ), been riding since age 12. owned most makes, traded a Vaquero for the Harley. I must say I like the way it handles, flip that thing around like a toy, love the color for 2016 olive green. sent my brother a pic thinking he would say cool bike but he's a hater and only wanted to inform me Harley uses mostly Chinese parts, course that pissed me off. I researched it all I could and could not find any Chinese parts from factory on any major parts from tires to frame don't know about any electronics. so....I would love for you to research and do a vlog on your findings and opinion. thank keep doing what your doing
Sweet! I still like the Ultras & Road Glides a bit more but nothing wrong with that puppy. Meet in Sturgis with it, no better way to break it in. 😆
Hi Shaun, its a big shame you had to part ex the barn find, the way you found that RK with such little miles on her was a cool story for sure, but I'm sure that amazing Street Glide will make up for it, the SG certainly looks cool with lots of modern tech on her, look forward to seeing more of the SG and how you get on with her on future vid's. Nice bikes! Linked brakes are a little different on every bike but I love it on mine. The bike squats more than it dives when you get on the rear brake pedal. It feel much more controlled.
Hope you enjoy your new Glide, it sure sounds like a sweet runner, the old RK is a nice bike though.

Good review and video. I have a rental on the same bike in two weeks. Going out for three days to try it. The only gripe I have is the low seat. I've had floorboard bikes before and the seats usually have my knees higher than my rear, which causes hip pain. The local HD dealer will fit a Tall Boy seat for me to try.
Congratulations mate, you so deserve that new Street Glide. may have to do something with the GoPro mount on your helmet so we can see better. Sorry to see the old road king go but she's going somewhere nice by the sound of it.

Shawn the brakes are not linked at speeds below 20mph. You are going to love the glide.

Got rid of the heel shift on my 2007 Road King. Just couldn't get used to it.
It sure is a sweet looking bike. It would take a while to get used to seeing that dash on your local vlog rides. I hope Kelly likes the pillion seat. :-) Is it that much better than the Indian? Good bye Road King. I guess it's not a good idea to get too attached to a bike. I just loved the story of the "old barn find." I hope the new owner appreciates its history and CZcams immortality. sam smith - Thanks Sam! I may have to use a side mount for the camera when vlogging on this one... The chin mount is just too low. Well I can't really answer the Indian question, as my employers watch these videos as well... Lol But I did purchase the Street Glide at a conciderably higher price than I could get a Chieftain for, if that means anything. I will definitely be going through a mourning period over the Road King, I know! Wish I could keep them both... But at least I'll know where it's going, and it will be much loved and taken care of.

Sam Smith said it all for me. 😀 when it comes to brake performance the dual front disc bikes have an advantage over those that do not. That being said my FatBoy has miserable brakes. And I'm fine with that. I'm glad you are happy with the 2015 SG Special. It's a game changer for sure. I for one do not like anything considered electrical or assisted on my motorcycles. But that's just me. Carb all the way. 😃. But I really enjoyed this video. Fun fun to watch. Tcrs

So the demin paint colors easy to wash and is there special wax for them. I don't know the care of that paint need some light on it,thanks.

Nothing has shifted roads have a 2% grade for water drainage. So you're actually riding at a angle. You upper body is sitting straight and the bike is slightly canted under you. Looking at the fairing you can see how the bike is not actually straight up and down.

Shawn Smoak I rememeber how excited I was when I picked up my bike. Just like Christmas. I see your gas prices are CA prices. I said about a $1.00 more per gallon is is actually $1.55 more per gallon than here. So sad that states can charge such jacked up prices per gallon.

+Shawn Smoak I ride my bikes in the rain all the time. (I live in the greater Seattle area) You should have seen my old sportster...looked like I bathed it in road grime. My 2015 SGS (only had it a month or so) is already pretty dirty...lol.
the road king is way better for vlogging though. That huge fairing is seriously in the way on the Street Glide.
...the headlight is very Alien, as in the Indian...
