    O finally. Imperium battle theme... i mean Rus. I knew that Relic are missing the Dawn of war series but still it was a surprise. A welcom one. Heroism and Motherland in one composition.

    This wasn't originally one of my favorites, but as time has passed and I've gone over 600hrs in this game, it's really grown on me.
    It nails on the head the vibe and style of the culture, and while it isn't quite as "epic" as some other tracks like English or HRE, when you are rampaging across the map with your super knights backed by Streletz, Warrior Monks, and High Armory Bombards this track perfectly captures the vibe of hardened woodland survivalists hiding behind wooden forts and brick walls, surviving battle after battle and hardship after hardship, to become a vast and powerful empire that even the Mongols in their prime couldn't break.

    Reminds me of that mission on campaign where the Rus have to hold off the massive Mongol horde. Could feel the fire in the hearts of a people who could stand to submit to foreign rule no longer.

      Russia only barely shares anything with Rus historically or culturally, roughly one region of current Russia (maybe 2 tops) was part of Rus, it was mostly composed of nowadays Ukraine and Belarus.

      Russia never changes. Our culture exist in blood and nothing can change it. Empire or Soviets - does not matter. People would always die for a family and people. But yea you are right, England\s kings dont like the Russia of Ivan 4 Грозный so they shi*s on him in history, while have own hands covered in blood much worse than him. x)

      @@oleksandrseredyuk Russia shares as much as Ukraine historically and culturally. ukraine and belarus became polonized servants at the end of the middle ages, Russians had to pay tribute to the golden horde for 200 years. The people were still the same, there is no moscovian or smolenskian ethnicity. Rus died when it fell apart, Russia has been its most successful successor.

    Guys I have a question, is this kind of mask originally from Kiev Rus or they got it from Cuman?
    I searched Rus mask on google and got Nemiya mask, but it looks different from this one.
    And the results of Cuman mask is much more identical with the one in the picture.
    I know Cuman is related to Rus in history, but still got a bit confused.

    • @XDayChannel
      @XDayChannel Před 3 měsíci +1

      It's a debatable topic, since there are little evidence about faceted helmets(? idk how it's called) or helmets with masks, but it's most probable that rus helmets were at least inspired by cumans, if not adopted. You may search for Личина at wikipedia, there are only Russian (the most complete), Ukrainian and German versions of the topic, so you may need to use translation. For examle, Ivan the Terrible's helmet was highly inspired by arabian design, and even have a quote from Quran in arabic written on it. Also, If I'm not mistaken, there are norse helmets with faces too.
