I had a phase where I wanted to get into modeling Irish railways, I use to spend hours just looking at the layouts in Hornby magazines, and how they all came together. The animation you did for showing the trains go around the layout was really cool and also lol, I liked that little cameo from The Good Old Days 2!
day ago?
Wait how is that a day ago
@@JetEngine37patreons get the vids early
Will you make an 009 section
I especially love the Great Northern Railway of Ireland with its sky blue livery.
Tug is emitting major dad vibes with his home improvement projects
Mabey he will be a dad
Wouldn’t be too surprised if he ever got engaged later on.
@@MarxMan-mb8nyI think he is engaged
Would be cool if he becomes one
Congratulations on getting the Dream Layout underway! Really looking forward to seeing where you go with this, it looks like a really fun layout.
Recently rewatched a video where James May from Top Gear made the world's longest model railway. Fascinating stuff
A wild United has been spotted
James May's Toy Stories. Great show.
There is a revisit to this episode the next season
i dont understand
Ah yes, the Flying Scotsman with realistic chuffing sound
Man literally taught us how to patch up a garage
And it’s weird we are entertained by this
Lol
How is this comment 8 days ago WHEN THE VIDEO IS 6 DAYS AGO??

Its because of A 2 day Premiere
Congratulations on the train room and getting engaged. I can't wait for more of Tug's trains.
I am shocked and amazed at how this layout is turning out. The amount of stuff you can do at such a small scale is incredible!!! Can’t wait to see how it’ll be finished. Keep up the amazing work Nic!
Great to see the return of your layout! It's always nice when you have to opportunity to expand too, I'm very jealous 😅 Best of luck with the build 👍
3:57 Bulgy really can’t catch a break with bricks
Definitely not the sort of update video I was expecting, but it really shows that life is full of surprises! I’m happy for your engagement and your new train room!
I will sound very weird, but this layout made my appreciate Rev. Audrey and David Mitten's geniuses even more. This is clearly very Thomas-esque layout, but in the same time I can imagine it in it's final form... And it could be extremely realistic, even while being slightly overboard in nostalgy department.
Quite an interesting layout. Glad you're getting plenty of what you want in it. If I may make a suggestion, I think some sort of scene break would be important between the original layout and the reverse loop section. It seems a tad crowded, but that could just be me.
Lucky you having a gf who accepts modeling tug! My dad does gundam models, but my mom hates it because of model paint😅
Definitely would look into getting a DCC set up if you plan on operating multiple trains at once with a switching operation at the terminal.
The wire fence is among the more intricate parts of Tug's layout. It's a nice touch.
This layout looks incredible. If you ever feel like expanding it beyond the current two additions, I think an industrial area would be a good fit as well. This might be one of my favorite layouts I’ve ever seen, and a new Tugs Trains always brings a smile to my face. Hope we see the Scottish Twins make an appearance next year.
It's a minor thing but I do love the editing and sound work you put into your running sessions. Seeing the different angles, and all the close ups in particular, makes it feel much more real, and the sound effects really capture the kind of thing you'd imagine happening when running the trains in person.
Also very interested to see what your plans are for Edward, your current model of him is my personal favorite, even if he's not exactly accurate.
please a part 3! its so inspiring!
Gotta love some more Tugs Trains, the layout looks DOPE
4:01 “So, this was his shortcut!” chuckled Duck.
I’m happy you finally showed us your layout! 😊
So glad to see the layout again. Let's hope Tug's trains come back soon.
I don't plan on building a model railway because of the limited space in my house. I am building a 1:400 scale model airport though. But listening to TheUnluckyTug make his model railway is so soothing that it actually keeps me going in terms of finishing my airport. Usually I make a littke bit of progress and then end up procrastinating. When I listen to him talking about his progress on his model railway, I listen as I finish the small details on my model airport. ❤
This is one of the best layouts I've ever seen. Great video tug.
Oh, I want a layout like this so bad. Glad to see it’s making progress, and looking forward to the eventual Part 3.
18:27 I refuse to believe there wasn’t a crash involved during filming.
8:39 I LITERALLY GOT THAT T9 THE DAY THIS VIDEO WAS UPLOADED 😱
20:30 Would love to see a video on Donald & Douglass too! Many of our favorite engines and one's you've been hinting about for quit some time now. Also enjoyed Part 2 very much :)
Congrats on your engagement! Cheers to many years of a happy marrige!
Looks like you've got quite an adventure ahead of you in the new year.🚂🚢
Currently building my own Japanese N gauge layout and your OO gauge collection and layout inspires me! 👍
@15:55 Long live the Titfield Thunderbolt!
@17:12
Congrats on the engagement and good luck with the layout
Funny how this was uploaded today, on my birthday, and I got my first model train set! :D
Beautiful transition between the yard and mainline ballast. Not enough people change the kind of ballast between branchline, mainline, and yard limits. And it really frustrates me when I see all the same gravel.
great layout, and glad to hear she said yes! wishing you two the best of wishes.
It is wonderful to see a set slowly take form. And to see your new plans makes it all the more exciting.
Congratulations on your engagement and your new home Tug! May you and your partner have many years of joy!
I've waited forever for this. You didn't disappoint tug, you didn't disappoint.
Now I'm wondering why everyone in Thomas & Friends is so clean.
Oh Nick, I think you traveled 126 miles with your layout. I cannot wait to see the suburban station and the little loop going past the Rowan Castle and the fishing village. I’m gonna try myself the same way by the time I’m finished you’ll be unlucky tug 1. I’ll be unlucky tug 2. It’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be great.!
Oh my goodness! You are good at decorating, upgrading, and modeling layouts, I actually learned a bunch of new things from you. Good luck with continuing to expand your layout and I hope for you the best in modeling. Happy Holidays Nic! 😉
Congratulations on your engagement and getting a new house Tug. Best wishes to you and your fiancé as you start your new life together.
The shed tracks are CONFINED IN A SMALL SPACE REALLY WELL!!
FINALLY I LOVE THIS SERIES BRING TUGS TRAINS (full length) BACK!!!
“I was switched onto the loop, I had to go all round and back again”
It’s great to see Bulge hanging around
It's a good thing I watched the first part yesterday. I love seeing the model railway evolve. I can't wait to see what it'll look like when it's completed.
I just remembered that me and my little brother made a Wooden Railway ultimate layout on my living room mantle. That was an S-tier track. What you are doing is similar to what I did those many years ago. Keep up the building on the layout! You have my respect, champ.
Your comment just sent me into a massive wave of nostalgia, cause I did the same!
Mann treats his videos with care and respect, hope your layout is getting the expansions it deserves 🫡 (funny Bachmann and dark knight references) 🤣🥴
Congrats on the house and getting engaged dude. For the record, I'm really jealous of your Arthur model. Stunning dude.
Well, we finally got to see how the ground covering was installed. That is one great big project you've made, with all those changes and what not.
I really hope we get to see videos about the individual Engines again.
I am so happy to see part 2 on your model train layout. The engine yard looks so lively now, and I love the little grassy areas too. Those wooden tables you made look great; some of your finest handy work yet.
Part 3 is going to be a good one, and I'll be here when it comes out.
Best of luck on the new layout! Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more updates!
Such a great update! Take your time with the modeling videos. But I’ll be here when they’re ready!
7:36 The saw dust be making Tug look almost a lot like Mike O'Donnell himself here, just wearing a mask.
You are one clever guy covering your model railway like that
Oh my gosh! Now time for the next long wait for part 3! How I wish I had enough room for even a 4x8 board....But no space... One day...
Such a therapeutic watch! It was already satisfying seeing the layout come together, now knowing it's going to be over twice as big and impressive is beyond exciting! I'm also honoured as an Englishman by your love of our scenery :) I wish people here were as enthusiastic about it...
I love seeing how much the layout evolved! Very nice work!
Hearing the beautiful sound of the music in the beginning is incredible ❤❤❤
Congratulations on getting engaged I hope you guys have a great wedding
So, I am trying to set up a layout and bought a new train today! I love watching these videos and you are the one that actually got me into model trains.
Love it can’t wait for part 3
Im sure If youll have Kids your children will admire your hard work
What a Way to Go, Mr. Tug. 🤩Your creative skills have gone up a notch. Here's hoping the result fulfills your expectations as well as the ongoing video content. Here's a personal story as a child: I got a Hornby train set one Christmas. My Dad actually bought a sufficiently-sized board to put it on, so we could run it, and some other model trains (including a ready-to-run GWR 43xx Mogul) in our large garden shed. It never happened; I knew I'd be doing something pleasurable with my Dad, who I didn't feel totally connected to beyond convenience. The models have since been given away.
Merry Christmas from the UK, Samuel Farris.
Great progress!
The shed looks class man
Tip for ballasting, add some Isopropyl alcohol to the glue mixture to break the surface tension and keep the ballast from getting on top of the ties/sleepers
Can’t wait to see the progress on the layout. Sounds like it’ll be amazing.
On the 4*4 board, you should add some elevation to the track. Like a steep hill that the trains have to go over. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT.
Really creative 👌. Depends on people's interests and perspectives. Me, personally, it might make it feel like a roller coaster vibe. But, I do think it looks cool when you have locomotives passing through industrial or Victorian bridges. For example: if you ever watched The Polar Express movie, I love the scene when the train is rushing through the Christmas village at the north pole. Especially when the train is going through the brick bridges. Of course, let's not forget the amazing 1930s Christmas city. I love that vintage style.
YOOO NO WAY, I WANTED A PART 2 YESTERDAY WATCHING THE FIRST
What is your progress on your Donald & Douglas models?
Your modeling stuff is always so cool. Hope to see more of your models in the new year.
This was great! So excited to see the next rendition, whenever it comes out.
Awesome video tug! Can’t wait to see what it looks like once it completes.
Man this is s good i litterly watched the original video like 20 million times!
Bro finally, it's here
This guy is a legend and has inspired me to make my own layout
I still feel like I preferred the tugs trains videos on how you made your engines then you doing shorts about them.
Also congratulations on getting engaged
This is SO cool, I'm so happy for you. Living the model railway dream!
we have waited patiently and he delivered. this is gonna be a banger. It looks so awesome! I wanna get into layouts.
resin and clear silicone would work as the water for the harbor but it could make it heavy and maybe you could throw in some cranes "hint hint" (big mickey and cranky) onto the harbor section. You could also use fabric glue as an alternative for the water for the harbor if you want
Ambitious, Tug, I look forward to the end result
OMG A HOGSMEADE SIGNAL BOX LOVE ITTTT
Bro we have been waiting for more than 7 MONTHS for this
It was worth it though
Yes it was
That layout looks awesome Nic, and the expansions you have in mind for it sound super fun! 👍
The layout is so good! Keep up the great work. Truely inspirational work
I recognized that the inspo picture is Corfe Castle! I’ve done much backpacking in beautiful countryside Dorset and it’ll match with the Dorset goods platform/shed nicely along with the rest of the layout 👍
Tug: Suggests to watch part 1 before part 2
Also Tug: Continues to summarize part 1 😂
YOUR LOYAL PATREONS HAVE SCORED BULLSEYE TONIGHT!
Also tug I had another recommendation, if you want to upgrade Edward to look more like he does in the RWS books, you should flatten the running bored where the driving wheels are by cutting the raised part of the running bored off and useing card bored or wood to replace it with a flat part like the way you extended James’ running bored, and also maybe get slightly smaller splashes and also maybe get a slightly smaller boiler for Edward. You don’t have to do these if you don’t want to tug.
The bit is removing it and making the miter and side rods fit in it with James it wasn’t any problem because the wheels were not tutching it but yeah I think he could hide the stuff in the cab I can do it
Even though in 13…
15:29 foreshadowing is a narrative device
Now THIS is a Christmas present
I’m so excited to follow your progress!
It’s awesome that you thought things through, great work!
5:50 congratulations Nic 🤙
Excellent work. Looking forward to seeing more
5:30, paint the base of the legs so it blends better with the ground, and give it some coal weathering at the bottom of the chute and maybe around the top? anywhere coal would get its dust around. besides that i absolutely love the color
This is kind of funny cause like a week ago, I watched ALL of your modelling videos, and last was the part 1 layout and after I thought part 2 was NEVER going to come (no offence😅). But on top of that great job!
Finally! We've been waiting for so long… thx for not keeping us waiting longer tug
It would be cool, to see a video about your prop-accurate Thomas next!😉 It looks awesome!
It looks so good. I have my layout on a 4x8 plank. I need to invest more in scenery stuff than just constantly getting more engines that i think look cool
