  • In this video, I show you my mobile hunting system and how I carry it and climb and descend trees. It's the favorite setup and system I've use so far. What's your system?

Having a system you’re comfortable and familiar with is key! Good demonstration. I feel a Fanny pack would get in my way (especially with my gut pushing it even further out 😜). I LOVE wearing cargo pants and keeping my essentials in the pockets for quick easy access 👍

yea... it's motivation to keep me from turning into a sumo wrestler 😂😂. Funny, cargo pants would drive me nuts with stuff banking around my knees. Lol. I guess there is no one size fits all! Thanks so much for watching! I hope you had a blessed Memorial Day!!

Love the system. I used to run a fanny pack as well when I used a climber. I loved the fanny pack. Now I use a turkey vest to carry my essentials. Great vid as I love to see how others hunt mobile

Having everything in front and so easy to grab or store is a game changer. Helps keep my backpack very small as well. Thanks so much for watching my friend! I hope you had a very blessed Memorial Day!!

Funny I’ve bEen trying to convert to super light mobile stand or saddle system for couple years and have done saddle thing now for a season. I purchased a Loc-on WindWalker for $20 at yard sale as an alternative setup. I now think some sort of hybrid system would have been better choice for me. A .5, Beast stand or helo would have been better purchase. Couple that with a cheaper harness or something like a Dryad killdeer and maybe a mini dra with it would have been better system. Shooting out of saddle is awkward for me compared to a stand. I think a rope lineman’s belt would make a world of difference for ya!!! Great video and I agree find system that works for ya and perfect it.

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I agree with you on the rope lineman's belt. I'll be switching to one for sure. There is a friend I have who has a youtube channel called On Target Adventures. He is doing the hybrid system this year. Saddle with a lock on stand. He one sticks so I think his entire setup is 15lbs is what he told me a couple days ago. Maybe check him out. I did the saddle hunting for 3 years. I enjoyed it for the most part. But when I missed an opportunity at a nice buck and realized that part of my strong side for shooting was a weak side for visiually watching. I made the switch to the mobile stand. I am sure my system isn't for everyone. But for me, it finally feels like I have one that I like pretty much every aspect of it... Except the lineman's belt. But that's going to change. Thanks again for watching and best of success to you this coming season!

@@PBAdventures146 Well being ultra light is important to me but compact is more important!!! I live in ME and we walk long distances into deep, thick and nasty terrain which when you wanna sit in stand requires compact systems. I’ve used Summit climbers for 25yrs but they are TRULY cumbersome at best even though they are supremely comfortable!!!! They just aren’t practical to use in a lot of cases up here. So saddle was my cure so I thought and my new setup with the new carbon sticks pack and all will weight 11-12lbs. Now I use my Windwalker which all though 30yrs old is pretty much a LWCG .5 without a good rock solid way to clamp to tree. I pack that in with a Mystery Ranch pop up 28 and it slides in nice in meat hauling shelf. I use this with my saddle but think both are kinda overkill. That’s why a small rock climbing style belt with a mini dray might have been better choice. Use linesmen’s belt as tether strap once up. My stand setup with pack weights about 16lbs which is still light and still fits inside my body profile which is most important but man you can dump some money in this stuff!!!

Looks like a pretty smooth system but we miss you on the saddle side! 😂 All joking aside, I'm really happy you found a system that excites you and that makes you happy. That is what makes hunting fun. What are your thoughts on rappelling down?

    • @tomnolan2186

I think he should try one sticking and rappelling Matt. He can still use the beast stand

Yea at times I definitely feel like I've defected to the dark side😂 ... But I love my Beast stand. 😬.. I haven't thought about it and kind of like my system. Unless I'm missing something which is possible, I would have to carry even more stuff up with me. But maybe not so I'm willing to hear more! Thanks so much for watching my friend! I hope you had a blessed Memorial Day!!

@@PBAdventures146 You would need to carry in more stuff so maybe it isn't for you. You'd need 30 feet of rope and a pull down rope but I was thinking how much easier and faster it would be than climbing back down 3-4 sticks. Just a thought. Personally, I'd say keep doing what you enjoy. 😬
