As someone who's favorite Persona games being the 2 duology and 4, I fully support the idea of a Persona 2 remake. Hopefully without removing what made the game great in the first place.

All they need for P1 and P2 are ports/localizations of the PSP versions, fixed difficulty for P2 IS, speed up and auto battle for all three games, uncensoring the games, and being able to choose which OST to use.

Persona has always been godlike, 2 and 3 might be the best, but persona 4 and 5 gave the franchise the media boost it needed to make it very freaking popular. So all games are to be appreciated for different reasons.
3 is still very flawed. It's atmosphere, especially in the final month, is unparalleled in all of SMT, but the main plot is VERY poorly paced only picking up in the last third when before that it's just fighting shadows and occasionally strega and that's it. Half the party members don't have a personality or an arc either, like Yukari and Mitsuru. It sucks that all the male party members don't have social links, greatly lowering those character's impact. Also, party members can't be controlled and have TERRIBLE AI, making the game far harder than it needs to be. Finally, Tartarus sucks and is the worst dungeon by far in the series. The fact that it's the only real dungeon in the game is infuriating. So yeah, Persona 3 has some great traits but overall is VERY flawed. Persona 4 and 5 are a lot more balanced overall but I get why people don't like them as they've been milked to death and their stories, while better paced due to an episodic structure with multiple "arcs," are less impactful due to their (mostly) lighter tone or in the case of P5 over the top edginess.
I wish they'd just port the first 2 (3) games onto PC and slap them on Steam. Cturne sold more than well enough to prove there is an audience for their older titles, and Persona is a really recognized franchise these days so I really doubt they would do poorly sales-wise. But Atlus is Atlus and refuses cash people want to throw at them and instead tries to sell grinding DLC for their games.
They are. It's the one reason why I never finished any of the old Persona games. That said the plots, atmospheres, and characters for P1 and both P2s are what make them so worth playing. They're more reminiscent of old school SMT than the newer Persona games.

@@Venom3254 Psone version had anime cutscenes aswell. PSP versions had redone/new cutscenes put in. Most of the clips you see in this are from the Psone version. (Forgot to answer, these scenes are from Eternal Punishment[psone]. But yes IS has some too.)

Cause it felt so short and left me wanting so much more. I don't think P2 needs a remake because i'm biased to say that I love the sprite work in it. Like when I first saw it...just MUWAH beautiful.
