Nice picks! However, a list like that seems incomplete without containing the incredible High Tide. Their 1969 “Sea Shanties” debut LP is something one must hear to believe it - heavy psych up to proto-metal stuff!!! Another brilliant album of the era is the “Den Of Iniquity” by Norman Haines Band, which was issued in 1971 (so, it doesn’t fit in a 1969 list, but I had to mention it anyway). Greetings from Greece - from a dedicated fan of the heavy psych/prog/kraut obscurities of those days😎😎

UK's music scene was on fire at the turning of the '60s decade - early 70s: Affinity, Arcadium, Bodkin, Dark, Forever Amber, Groundhogs (Tony "T.S" McPhee is probably the most underrated rock guitarist of all time!), Indian Summer, May Blitz, High Tide & Norman Haines Band (as already said), Pussy, T2, Tonton Macoute...the list is endless!! Not to mention the folkish style of obscure records (not my thing, though), that now fetch a fortune! Just throwing some names and ideas here. Keep up the good work!!! 😎
Really good music for the time. I think I was only 9 but I remember some of these groups. Lots of key boards work. I think synthesizers were just coming into the market then so there was a lot of creative things happening. I watched Don Kershners rock concerts here in America. Used to come on late like after 10pm.
Hi Many thx for this labour of love.I was familiar with only only 3 or 4 bands like Velvett Fogg .It would be great to keep on compiling your top ten of rarities year by year since the origins of UK psychedelic underground bands & why not US or Down Under artists. Too much to ask ???? I'm sorry. Anyway congrats from Corsica for your picks. I dig a lot rarities like Faine Jade, Tintern Abbey, CA. Quintet (from The States, huge imo), Ultimate Spinach, Lemon Fog, The Mystic Tide, The Paisleys (amazing US band too),The Wimple Winch, The Syn & so on......Otherwise a gem Orange Alabaster Mushroom not from the sixties but only if you have some infos.Not a revival band more a band lost in the time space (again in my opinion) Cheers and have a great day
Many great underground US bands too!! I tend to explore the UK ones as they have a special sound I love, and I do definitely plan on more top 10’rarities videos! Work is a bit crazy but I have another one in the works now I hope to finish by next week or so!
Contrasts by Blonde on Blonde (especially the song Ride With Captain Max) and Wasa Wasa by the Edgar Broughton Band are a couple more good UK albums from 1969. The entire Mighty Baby album is excellent.
I remember loads of bands sounded similar around that time, they weren't bad for the time just a bit "samey" I didn't start watching live bands until 71 ( was too young before that to get in the local clubs ) so never saw any of these bands live as I think they had folded by then ( first band I saw live was a three piece called Thin Lizzy, cost 50p )

I have all of these but Bodak-Jons-Malone, they are all 5/5 masterpieces.

i think this guy made his own top ten...because there is no music that covers psychedelic and underground music from any importance....pfff
