Here's some of the things the Jags are planning to do to the stadium: Replace HVAC plumbing mechanical and electrical systems, increased space for football operations, better vertical transportation, shade on all seats and wider concourses
Jacksonville Black Bulls? It was just Bulls. I loved going to the games we had season tickets when I was a kid. There was more people going to those games then the Jags now unfortunately. Hopefully the new stadium will change that.
I think roofs on stadiums are creepy. It's always been creepy to look up when you're at a concert or game or event and see all of the stuff hanging off the ceiling, especially if there's something big hanging over your head. I understand the elements, but it is more natural to have the sky above you when you're in a huge setting like sitting together with tens of thousands of people.
Tech its not really a dome. Its still a open air stadium with a transparent roof. The roof just reduces the heat from the sun which is critical. Jags average 120+ calls from heat related health concerns every game in September. This will drastically reduce those numbers. Its really needed. Whats a roof to possibly someone dying? Saves one life it paid for itself. In my opinion.
While it is roughly a 60/40 split, don't discount the fact that the Jags are agreeing to be responsible for any cost overruns. There WILL be cost overruns on this. By the end, it could end up being that the Jaguars are paying more than the city.
Public not happy with 60/40 split? its a 50/50 split or 55/45 split at best. as a resident of Jax I love this deal. its a great deal to keep the Jags here for another 30 years.
It's a 55/45 split, and would be 50/50 if the City of Jacksonville (COJ) didn't have deferred maintenance on the stadium, which has added up to 150 million.
Cause all the stadiums in Florida are outdated and needed an updated. Redoing the scoreboards only get you so far haha. Could do a 4 year or 2 home and home between Florida and Georgia back in the 90s. An odd year would not be fair.
@@CPar926 time will tell. Some claim that a Central FL mega region comprises Orlando-Tampa-Jacksonville metros. Can this region still support two NFL franchises?
Quite a bit of changes they got rid of jungle slope entrances and removed alot of the new screens and much bigger roof. @@pheonix1023 Revenue for the league obviously. Don't get me wrong I do like that the NFL blesses cities with Super Bowls, but a neutral site that is owned and operated by the NFL and is used as the "official site of the Super Bowl," would clearly bring them loads of cash annually. Not to mention the NFL has the bank to build a world class stadium that would rival the best in the world. You can't scoff at their marketing genius that would be foolish.

There is a 100% chance this stadium will never be built. For those of you not local to Jacksonville, know that this pathetic city can only build wood framed apartment buildings. This project is WAY beyond its capabilities. So in conclusion, the jaguars will not be getting a new stadium.
And 150 to 300 million for revitalizing Eastside neighborhood to promote construction jobs and jobs to the stadium and stadium district and to fix it up add affordable housing. So wasting money on that area when the whole city could use that money. But know it to keep the area a black neighborhood black business area so know one else could live there and make it thrive. isn’t that all to one self and spending taxpayers money on one location alot of money. Would that be a one race a segregation of favoring and not living of races together like the rest of the city of suburbia in Jacksonville. Also could use the rest of that money to put back the stuff they took out of the rendering.
Shahid Khan will also take on anything extra for the budget if it goes over. IMO he should have taken on 80% of the cost just like any owner should being the 8th richest owner. The city already built the practice facility and pays for any ruining cost( which he should also). These owners get major tax breaks and make the majority of the revenue. They should have just built an entire new stadium on the southeast side of Jacksonville off of JTB Boulevard where they have more major roads and been able to have plenty of parking.
@777dwbrown Every market shares the cost not just small markets. Thats why the Chiefs aren't happy because they can't get funding. They shouldn't have to at all IMO. Shad has no issue going to spend 500m - 1 Billion on the hotel and shipyard project that he also gets a major tax break from and makes money from.
@DuTch_-0- You're incorrect, sir. When you say every market shares.... Jerry's world in dallas pays for everything... Sofi stadium, Completely paid for by the owner... But Vast majority get help
@777dwbrown somewhat your correct sir. 325m Arlington contributed and Sacramento paid loan money in bonds and paid for the parking lot. There's always some kind of City funds
If Jacksonville or any other NFL team puts a dome or roof of any kind on their "stadiums I'll never ever view any of their home games on TV,the only exception being when my team the Packers play them as the visitors.

The seating bowl needs to be changed to where the bowl is at a steeper angle. The upper deck gives the worst views of field.

Think this is my favorite out of all the new stadium projects. Looks the most unique/modern while retaining the history of the franchise
I heard that the jags are going to do the stadium first and then have a phase 2 for the development around the stadium.
Yup that’s phase 2
Every new stadium has an entertainment district near the stadium
A long way from the old Gator Bowl
F the gator bowl. I'm so tired of the old timer trailer park people on the west side obsessed with how the stadium was back in the 1950s.
All these domes, I do love temperature control, but sports can become a bummer with no elements

How is that chrome going to be with the sun in Florida? Is it going to reflect like crazy and create heat zones on the ground?
Think of it as a pair of sunglasses. Same concept. Blocks UV rays.
It’s a 50/50 split. The additional contribution from the city is money they already owe the Jags. Come on bro.
I wonder if WWE and the Khan family who owns AEW would allow Wrestlemania to run in that stadium?

Would the Buccaneers fight that as Tampa is such a short drive from Orlando? It feels like Central Florida is their territory
