All open wheelers move around a fair bit when you push them hard enough. When I first started racing FR3.5 I thought it could never become unstuck when cornering. Now I've got a bit used to it I've found it actually does move a fair bit on the limit and it's just a sharper more direct feel when balancing it than you get with the more cruiseliner like GT3s.

A year late to this, but I just raced my first F4 race at Oulton Park, and holy crap is this a fun track and an amazing car! Might have been the most fun I've had in iRacing yet!

I'm a fan of this little car too. Great addition from iRacing 👌 I've not been brave enough to attempt an official race yet but loving driving it in practice. Great result there from mid pack like 👏
Quite a bit of carnage in the lower splits. Spins everywhere. I managed to survive a couple races. A.I. just got added so I'll probably run with A.I. before doing more official races.

I'm with Dylan, you need to try the USF2000's at Oulton Park before the end of the week Dave, Next to the Radicals, the USF2000's are my most favorite road racing car in IRacing. The IR-04 pales in comparison to the USF2000's imho. The IR-04's feel a bit sloppy to me.

Big fan Dave! You're probably equally responsible as iRacing for promoting my decline into sim racing. Open wheelers are a mixed bag for me too, so fun to drive occasionally but the boost in corner speed from a road car is like you're on rails. Great fun

Yeah, I think fixed series should be the standard for iracing series with some open setup series.
I simply don't have the time to sit down for 2h to make a Setup before I Race.

@@deafy9666 iRacing do a track specific set up for these cars, and they are really good, no need to buy setups for it,

good race Dave , yes this car is load of fun , but as most cars with the new update, i think new tires are great. for exemple i was not a fan of gt4 at all and the austin is great imo, i havent tried the older cars yet if they feel different ..but i feel gt4 is a blast now. i raced the usf2000 a lot , and at first id say the usf is way more understeery, but when you know how to drive it, you can do anything with that car. cheers

That long left at turn two gives me the heebie jeebies in USF2000, terrified to brake too hard or steer too much or accelerate too early
Yeah, that turn is a head scratcher because there's a dip in the road that can upset the car. I think the USF2K is a bit tougher to drive, actually. They are both prone to spinning though.
First time in the sprints I got the jelly legs in the race. Lol them jelly legs ain’t no joke

the junior formula cars really require smooth steering inputs, you cannot throw them into a corner like a GT3/GTE car nor can you go full hero mode as you would driving a formula 1 car
no idea what you setup is, nor do I play Iracing so I dont understand its tuning quirks, but on some corners it seems to me that you're throwing the car in as you would a closed cockpit car & that definitely doesnt help the oversteery nature of these cars.
at speed they're pinned to the ground but as you brake and prepare for corner entry you're in that in-between zone.
just something to think about is all, awesome vid as always!

How much difference does a setup make? I've just been using the iRacing Oulton park setup. I've only ever raced skippy before so I've never had any need to use VRS for setups.

Careful Dave I suggested wouldn’t it be good in the virtual space I don’t need a halo, or huge radio aerial in the F3 car to speak to Jim and was roundly criticised by a ‘purist’ on another video.

So a Skippy on Steroids with downforce, I'm in; will buy tomorrow😎. I've never taken part in a new series; should be fun😍/🤢. Tony @ TDi99 Gaming is doing track guides, I'm sure others are as well🥳. It takes a while to learn, but racing is not about the fastest lap, it's about the fastest average lap time😎. BTW great racing really enjoyed it.
How can you apply custom liveries? (such as the Pisswasser, Haas or Aston Martin one)
You get them from trading paints. Sign up on the website and choose your paint 😁

I tested the F1 and it seemed like it stuck to the ground like glue. Have no idea how close I got to race pace, but it was fun. Everything comes at you REALLY fast - lol. Think I'll stick with F3 and F4 for a while.
