For future reference you don’t need to dry them out if you’re making tea right away. Only if you intend to store them for later use or ship them to someone. Next time you should try them fresh - it’s lovely 💕 🌸
@@apriladams5203 they're only more "potent" because let's say 1 handful of wet = 10oz, but 9 oz of that is water content. dehydrate and now you have the equivalent of 10oz wet in 1g of dry. there's no magic chemical process that makes dry herbs better.

I have a huge beautiful cherry tree in my front garden , and every time the wind blows at the moment (it's been stormy all weekend) it makes me sad knowing all those blossoms have blown off and the harvest won't be as good this year. It's the best cherries ever and opposite the school, all the local kids love to share the cherries hanging over the garden fence as they walk home from school.

If you're talking about the pollination process of figs, be sure that the insect completely dissolves and becomes basically just fertilizer before fruits are ripe. I don't know if that makes it better, but know the crunch is probably just seeds.
Fig newtons are crunchy occasionally because of seeds. The wasp becomes completely dissolved 💀 you aren't just biting into them. Otherwise fig newtons would sting you occasionally and people allergic to bee venom would die from eating them.

oh, i love those. My bf bought me a packet when they visited japan. Apparently, you have to rinse them first and throw away the first "tea" then, the second brew is what you drink. it's salty when not rinsed enough so i kinda let it sit for 30 seconds, then throw away. the the second brew i let it "bloom"? usually, i take 2 to 3 flowers for half a cup of water. not boiling hot water. just about simmered or when the bubbles sorta start to pop but not too much? it smells sooo good!
Thats Sakuracha! Its a savoury, salty tea, and very delicious! I use it at dinner time, sometimes after a rice dish! Id suggest following the instructions on the cup. If there arent any, then you can first rinse a single flower to rid it of excess salt, and then add it into 1 cup of almost boiling water! slowly watch the flower 'bloom' and enjoy ur cup :) u can add more flowers and experiment with strentgh of how u prefer ur tea from there

Personally to clean them (without focussing on sanitisation because as gross as it is to think about bacteria can increase the flavour/fragrance of food plants, this doesn’t mean eat shit just don’t stress about sterilising everything you consume) I’d wash them in a weak vinegar or lemon water solution at a tepid temperature. This will wash off any bugs, dirt and stray pollens as well as bring out more of the flavour/fragrance of the buds which is what this person was aiming for. As for drying them. Light and heat are the mortal enemies of flavour preservation so drying in the sun or in a dehydrator would be a terrible idea however drying them in a rack or on a screen in a dark room with a fan gently circulating the air, and if you want it it to take less than a few days to a week you could always include a dehumidifier, until they feel crispy. Pop them in a glass jar and seal them up check the jar humidity the following day, if it’s above 62% they need more drying time, if it’s 62% humidity or less just leave the jars open for 10 minutes a day every day for a week after which you.should be able to seal them up and the buds can last literal years without any noticeable degradation in flavour or aroma.

I used to pick natural tea leaf while traveling and bring it home. Then i made tea. It tasted amazing. That was the first i felt nature is marvelous and different from the food which i eat daily 😢

When I dry mine first it seems to intensify the flavor. Sort of like using herbs. Dried herbs are more potent than fresh so you use less.

Pruning flowers early in the season will get you more flowers and a stronger tree in general.

The sun dried method preserves and creates a better taste, I would really recommend not using any machinery when making such delicate forms of tea,
Steaming is not gonna sanitize anything unless you use high temperatures. Also most likely sanitizing is unnecessary if xou dry them anyways

You don't need a dehydrating oven or a dehydrator to do it. You can air dry them or use your oven on its lowest setting.

The rest of the story is that some blossoms are removed anyway, as clustered blossoms lead to smaller fruit. Using them for tea is a great idea.
