I figure that, if the text is aligned properly, it’s a variation on the Spritz speed reading technology. Helpful in specific circumstance, like I personally find it beneficial when I’m having delayed auditory processing to have a real-time visual word guide to keep me up to speed, but other functions of captions as accessibility aids don’t apply as much. (Edit to clarify before I get a response bc I realized it might get misread; I am agreeing with you, but also elaborating on the method.)

Personally to clean them (without focussing on sanitisation because as gross as it is to think about bacteria can increase the flavour/fragrance of food plants, this doesn’t mean eat shit just don’t stress about sterilising everything you consume) I’d wash them in a weak vinegar or lemon water solution at a tepid temperature. This will wash off any bugs, dirt and stray pollens as well as bring out more of the flavour/fragrance of the buds which is what this person was aiming for.
As for drying them. Light and heat are the mortal enemies of flavour preservation so drying in the sun or in a dehydrator would be a terrible idea however drying them in a rack or on a screen in a dark room with a fan gently circulating the air, and if you want it it to take less than a few days to a week you could always include a dehumidifier, until they feel crispy. Pop them in a glass jar and seal them up check the jar humidity the following day, if it’s above 62% they need more drying time, if it’s 62% humidity or less just leave the jars open for 10 minutes a day every day for a week after which you.should be able to seal them up and the buds can last literal years without any noticeable degradation in flavour or aroma.

I have a peach tree in my backyard and this year I smelled the blossoms. They smelled like a mild almond scent mixed with a honeydew melon. I should try to make tea next time.
