STORY
Nanny, a kind and caring Swedish woman, was the final resident of this gorgeous home located in the secluded northern region of Sweden. She had been widowed for many years after losing her husband, but still chose to live in the house they once shared together. But she never felt lonely. Nanny was the most amazing grandma anyone could ask for. She cherished having her grandchildren over and took a genuine interest in each of them. The walls of her house were adorned with countless memories, drawings, and photos from their time together.
Once a bustling home for many people, this house now lies deserted and desolate. Its story traces back to the mid-1800s when the first generation of owners established a Sawmill in the backyard and built the house that still stands today. The trade was passed down through generations, and this family enjoyed a prosperous life.
However, as industrialization took over, the demand for mills decreased until eventually the last operator, Nanny's husband, passed away. Nanny was the final resident to leave, and she passed away in 2001. With her passing, almost 200 years of family history were left behind.
To our surprise, everything was still intact. We even stumbled upon some coins and bills in the Swedish currency.

I'm grateful that my late uncle's widow sold my grandfather's farm to my great nephew. He and his wife have been giving it new life, including their new son, to continue the family ownership. The house was built in the 1800s and deserves to be maintained. The beams are tree trunks, and the foundation is huge rocks.
Her children and grandchildren clearly meant the world to her. With so many memories left to decay, it seems the feeling wasn't mutual, which is a real shame. There are so many people that can only dream to have been raised in such a loving family environment. I guess that's today's generation for you. 😢
It breaks my heart💔..Nanny spent so much time loving and caring for her beloved family and they cannot come together and honor her memory by taking care of all of her things..they just leave it there to decay..it's so sad..😢 it's almost like she doesn't really even matter..but I hope that isn't the case..
As a grandmother, it breaks my heart to see this. All the love she gave to her family , yet not one was kind enough to keep any memories of their life with her.
I hope that at least one of my grandkids has the heart to save some souvenirs.

Hi Leslie and Danny, 20 years has gone by, they kids couldn't decide whether to keep it or sell it. So, mother nature made the decision for them. It can't be sold or kept. I just can't believe that they at least didn't go in and collect the family photos, and somethings that Nanny held close. Their fighting has destroyed generations of this family's legacy. Well they should at least save all items that can still be saved. Sell the land or buy each other out if someone wants it .while they are acting disrespectful to whom ever had this. To just act selfish and let all her memories rot to the ground..Shame on them.

Why do people let their loved ones house go to crap? I just can’t believe they let this happen ?
I live near Atlanta. There is a beautiful old home not too far from us that was a sharecropper farm. The home is a magnificent two story with large porch with columns, wide hallways, large rooms, once beautiful woodwork. It’s empty. The man who owns it refuses to sell for some reason and the house is crumbling and decaying year by year. Vandals have broken the windows and it’s boarded up. It absolutely breaks my heart that he won’t sell it to the many who would like to save it.
I guess just because there’s family doesn’t necessarily mean there’s love They don’t want to return so that’s what I assume

If I'm not misreading into this lady's legacy along with her husband and their family mill business, the estate likely had no concise Will and yet its ownership was contested. Then again, it might not have had left behind a more specific ownership. Quite possibly too, the person(s) who might've been executor or executrix intended to sell it but didn't. So many legal or financial difficulties could've stood in the way. However unfortunate and sad, it would've been lovely to see this family's memories maintained.

Nanny begitu perhatian sm anak2 dan cucu2nya tapi mereka srmua hampir tidak pernah perhatian sm orang tua dan neneknya terbukti rumah ortuanya yg begitu sarat memori indah tidak pernah tersentuh oleh anak2 n cucu2 nanny semua terbengkalai tidak terawat n kotor nyaris termakan rumahnya dengan rayap.rumah nanny sejujurnya indah n penuh barang2 indah jika dirawat dan dibersihkan dan dibuang barang2 tertimbun ngk berguna pasti rumahnya begitu indah.❤😊

Hi Lesley and Danny, Such a sweet family to discover that resided and visited there, and it’s heart wrenching that there’s issues around this abandoned place, one part of the family want to keep the property, but the finances to support it are too expensive, and the other part of the family want to sell it off. But memories are there, and they should be able to collect up the special collectives, but would need a special place to display their memorabilia👍🌸🌼✅🐎💖🙏

Wonderful explore video in that abandoned Swedish house. I loved listening to your heartwarming introduction, beautifully underlined with lovely background music. Also Danny did again an excellent job with his camera! Some nice looking beautiful rooms with a legit timecapsule vibe. - It's on the other hand really sad, that the children are not finding an ageement how to take over that house, which is of course sadly and inevitably decaying rather quickly. Your question if the last owner might have been a hoarder, is really justified considering the disorder and the enormous amounts of stuff cluttering the house in some parts.

They make me laugh, and My heart gets touched and pulled because of the deep meaningfulness of these people that you bring to us . And you show this in such an amazing way, and you show us the beauty of decay. I also love being so deeply touched as I reflect back on my own life, and I treasure the swing that no longer exists from my childhood at my grandparents. That swing has long been gone, but once upon a time it was a new swing and I was there for that newness!

I hope one day the grandchildren will see this video and realize how much their grandmother cherished them. It’s sad that a dispute in the family has allowed this home, filled with precious memories, just be destroyed in decay. Thank you for sharing this video, I believe they house will totally crumble to the ground in a very short time from now. 43:10 is a Dalmatian dog. My husband and I had a Volkswagen Super Beetle exactly like this one, color was the same, we bought it in 1970. Thank you for sharing this video and honoring Nanny’s memory.

You matched the music to this video beautifully. 😌 I have enjoyed the videos of Iceland and Sweden because of where I was born and grew up here in Colorado. There were a lot of Swedish immigrants, and these remind me of home. Even our house was painted that shade of red. 🐞

I don’t know how many children and grandchildren Nanny had but if they loved her half as much as she loved them the home she cherished wouldn’t be in this horrible state! And to think this property had been in the family many years. All the family memories wrapped up in the photos. I don’t know what the tax laws are in Sweden,but keep or sell, some agreement should have been arrived at so family could have removed items and family mementos. I would have been one not wanting to sell, but if it meant it would be a home for another family and not become a pile of garbage I’d agree to it. This is sad😞

She seemed to be a typical lovely grandma that used to make biscuits for her gramdchildren,so kind ,so full of life ....i don't this it's hoarding either,she just really really loved them....I even saw a photo of her husband cremation...she took a photo of him to remember him even in this state ...Wow...I would love to be one of her children
