ABOUT NEW AMSTERDAM
In the wake of the ambulance crash that ended Season 1, medical director Dr. Max Goodwin grieves the death of his wife, Georgia, and learns the difficulties of being a single parent - all the while continuing his commitment to solve systemic health care issues at the hospital. Add in his new responsibilities as a father and with cancer still lingering in the rearview mirror, everyone around Max must wonder how long he can sustain this impossible load. But "How can I help?" is not just Max's catchphrase, it's his reason for living. As long as he's helping others, Max is able to find hope in the most hopeless of places. The cast includes Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman and Jocko Sims, with Tyler Labine and Anupam Kher.

I love that the two actress that play mother and daughter actually resembles each other.
Janet Montgomery's performance is beyond brilliant. She's so good at acting emotional scenes.
One of the things that really pisses me off about abusive and/or negligent parents is when they say "I don't remember doing that".
Yes, you do. You remember damn well. You just don't want to admit it.
Most of the time. But then there are the parents like my mom-who was so wrapped up in her trauma's and the end of her marriage that she literally made herself forget as much as she could, and she can't remember things well 30 years on even. See, for my family while we had the minimum of what we needed, we raised ourselves while my mom buried herself in the church to make herself feel better about what went wrong.
Or too blasted out of their mind to remember. Or care, to be honest.
“ I’m sorry you feel so sad but sweetheart, I just don’t remember any of that happening.” OOF
Are you KIDDING ME?!!
How convenient they never remember all the awful things they put u through 🙄
Yep i agree. Their minds goes deep and long to remember every minute detail on wut u did all the way dwn to wut the weather wuz like on that particular day of the event.....
well her mom suffers from memory loss from being an alcoholic
You’re the freaking parent. Take the responsibility and step up. If you cannot do it for your child then you really are hopeless. Let them go and let them be happy instead of stringing them along and giving them false hope. Yes it sucks and it hurts even more when they’re older, but there has to be an end to the pain. Your children are not backups and you cannot go and mess up their lives every time you feel lonely and want to “connect,” only to abandon them again and again.
Yes, people with addictions deserve more chances than the second one or the third one, but it really is the people around them that suffer in silence. Addiction is the worst thing, and I hope people are given enough chances so that when that one moment of clarity comes by, they can use that opportunity to better themselves.
Oscars for Janet Montgomery. Now.

Another Alcoholic’s excuse to avoid accountability.
Reminds me of what my Grandmother would tell whenever she wake up in the morning after she get so drunk sorry I didn't remember peeing my pants sorry I didn't remember scratching you or sorry I didn't remember vomiting on you ha! Liar now I can actually get drunk and be wasted I know you can still remember what you did you just choose to say you cant bcoz your embarrassed by what you did and wanted to forget about it but one night while my grandma was drunk and started hurting my cousin I shouted at her and told her this is why were losing respect on you and the next morning she's mad at me for shouting at her wow just shows what she chooses to remember
Of course the mother would t remember she was drunk!!!!!! Even if she did she would never admit it
Maybe because you were drunk half the time
I once got confronted by an adult friend of my moms. I was told that, as a kid of maybe 4 or 5, I had punched this woman.
I had no memory of doing that. Of course I didn't, I was too young. I didn't even remember that I had ever met this person.
But I didn't say, "I'm sorry you're still upset about that" or even "Why have you held onto this grudge against a toddler for 20+ years?" which I certainly could have.
Instead I said, "Well...I'm sorry I did that to you." Which is what this mom should've said to her daughter.
I think bloom needs to forget about her
