Damn those two are so powerful together! Imagine what they could do if Tally was also linked with them! On another note, the whole last act of that episode broke my heart in a thousand pieces. Masterful! And perfect acting!

i took it from that ending they both survived as her unique healing ability kicked in and healed both of them, and the true scope of her healing power from her mother if i remember is only realised in this moment, possibly amplified by them both being linked, so power of two witches. it's been a year since i saw season one so i cant remember names of the characters only events-very roughly...

Normaly she gets something back when healing other but with this virus not...

Truly emotional I was doing so well at not crying until this scene happened. I was shocked with Tally, but Raelle was my girl so once she got stabbed I was done. Abigail grew on me as the season progressed so their final moments together DESTROYED me. I was so happy that they announced there was a season 2 before this aired because my emotions would have been WAY worse.
This show Motherland has so many surprises . I was not expecting this . At the same time it was so powerful .

It actually did, but it also seems like it can be REALLY dangerous (If you've seen the S2 trailer, you know what I mean). So it helped her to get better, but at the same time, its not something that is truly "good" or "bad" if you get me.

Heartbreaking.
I'm sorry but this scene absolutely drives me mad lol. There is absolutely no reason why she should have turned her back to the open field TOWARDS the enemy when she had the helicopter to her rear for protection. I was in the military so this is just me nit picking lol but I think the scene would have played better if she had been shot with something like a spear or arrow or bullet while backing up towards the helicopter. Just my opinion. Sorry for the rant!!!
I loved the ending and the cliffhangers but I agree that there was a missing link this moment. Maybe one extra scene to show someone approaching or giving a reason for her to turn because they even showed her backing up towards the helicopter, so why would have she turned unless she was by the helicopter or if she heard something. But anyway, small detail on an incredible show.
true that was a plot hole, the only one i noticed in the whole series actually. they must have got blind sided by their efforts to make an extremely poignant ending and forgotten self consistency in the scene compared to their normal witch military behaviour. or that scene got rushed due to production schedule pressures. also scenes are often shot in completely different order than their sequential order in the tv episode, which may have led to this plot/character hole oversight. because though they do the spells, they are in every sense a female military unit from the day they arrived and went through equivalent of basic training and then first on field experience-although initiated abit earlier than planned due to the enemy attack escalation. mainly that stupid boy getting off the helicopter bugs me far more. it could be explained that we got a heavily slowed down still image of her turned towards the helicopter, in what in real time would have been femto-seconds. so looks more negligent than it actually was. still, she allowed her military instincts to be distracted by the boy, as she turned towards the helicopter to watch the boy get on, which was unnecessary. she lost her alert edge. you can't afford that as a soldier in a war zone. objective aloofness to the native children in a warzone is required. sorry i would have left the boy, which what the woman in command in the helicopter ordered.
. yes, how logical it was for the boy to leave the safety of the helicopter and head towards the danger going on outside. why would you be more scared of being in a helicopter protected all around you by grownups-which young children instinctively trust and feel safe with, and head into all that crazy storm weather going on? stupid boy-deserved to die. yeah, im not fond of kids hehe, -unless they are intelligent. their cuteness otherwise does not redeem them for me. the idea we are supposed to like all kids just because they are really young and adorable is annoying. hence i dont like all children. i decide whether i like them after getting to know them just as with adults. i hate stupid decisions regardless of age. soldiers from my understanding are trained and supervised not to be distracted by native kids n warzone.it reminded me of military situations during the afghanistan and iraq war occupation of the american-british coalition troops children would be used as human shields, they could be acting as scouts to then run off and inform a hidden sniper of the U.S/British troop positions. snipers and IEDs were really the top two dangers out there for coalition troops. human shielding, often using children, is a practice used by hamas, as well as using hospitals as storage for their weapons, then when detected and bombed by a drone, hamas claim a propaganda victory of evil israelis deliberately targeting palestinian hospitals. p.s. i know theres harsh stuff IDF do too, i take a nuanced view. i dont approve of the israeli blockade policy of gaza at all, but that is just example of a bad terrorist tactic on palestinian side.

when is season two?? any firm release date yet? truly brilliant series. i still remember the first scene of the balloon and the suicides. the world building is brilliant. the enemy is terrifying. the special effects are excellent. the portrayal of spells by vibration so original. i have no idea of the source material for this, i'm taking it probably a series of novels, or novellas, so im just going by the series here. either way, it's original. take note his dark materials-this is how you portray witches. as good as his dark materials series on bbc-now in season two is, the portrayal of the witches is totally uninspired.
