- The throwback music of hit Netflix series "Stranger Things" was the brainchild of Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of S U R V I V E. To create brooding atmosphere, the two used a selection of vintage and modern synthesizers and drum machines to craft John Carpenter-esque synth soundscapes. In this video, S U R V I V E explores four vintage synths at Reverb's Justin Delay's studio: the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, the Roland Juno-6, the Korg Mono/Poly and the Roland TR-707 drum machine.

Gotta hand it to Moog and the Prophet for incorporating all that wood. Cool look
I like how younger musicians are getting into the classics we used as teens. Respect for vintage synths! It wasn’t cool back then; we were just ahead of our time 😉
the sound of that p5 oh my
that brass sound is amazing
If I could only have 1 of the 4 it would be the prophet 5 every time
100%. Beautiful sound and design.

no google plus you just made my day
no google plus 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still hilarious
The reason the prophet 5 takes the center here is due to John carpenter. but, Also, unlike the follow up flagship (Jupiter 8) it has that warm dark flavor of which the jp8 lacks..
In the 80's this was the futuristic
sounds of the world to be.
synthwave my dude
@@commentcontrol7187 sorry, dont recognize genres that are just older genres relabeled. hip hop is still hiphop. Classical isnt "classicwave" and "chillwave/brostep" are literally memes that people took seriously based on an ironic hipster blog. jeezus fuck, the future sucks
Loving the synths
They're so freaking cool.
So many Great Toys !!!!!!!!!!!!!

they looked kind of pissed off being on that show. probably upset they've become famous because of 'that' soundtrack.

Upset about making music for one of the best shows and making good money doing it, I highly doubt it.
