This bike somewhat has a similar silhouette of bajaj v15 imo...
Also if yamaha really listens to probable customers they should concentrate into higher cc segments (read 250cc and above) more aggressively. For a start they can easily develop an xpulse challenger using their fz250 engine. They have hell lot of dual purpose 250s present internationally. XTZ250 is an example. Only God knows who plans their strategies.

  • @lonerider6945

the indian market is entirely different from other contries. its still a developing country. i don't know why every one complains about maruti suzuki for cars and honda , yamaha, suzuki for bikes, when they launch budget oriented products. simply stupid. Indians deserves maruti suzuki for affordable cars. if some one want a premium and quality products there are plenty of options available from number of brands. same goes here. for yamaha mt15 is not selling much and giving the expected sales simply because of the price. if they introduce the XSR with R15 engine and frame the price would be as much as MT15. i personally feel like this is the right product for mass market even if not giving higher sales figures. indian mass market is now on 150cc. even for fz250, gixxer 250 people choose ktms and ready to pay more.. price is the biggest concern for people as well as the manufacturers. thats why i always like maruti suzuki for their affordable products.

And please introduce 'retro' motorcycles with an analogue meter. 3-4 essential information is all what one needs unless he is going to space!

Hi, Autocar India and Mr. Rishad Mody , a good looking bike & a good attempt by Yamaha India. Retro style bikes are today's trend. But unfortunately FZ-X has some flaws , it has LED headlight & taillight then how they put conventional bulbs on turn indicators, secondly if this bike to be successful, then Yamaha India has to put a bigger displacement engine, say upto 250cc or above. Retro bike suppose to be butch, just as Royal Enfield as buyers always prefer middle weight retro bikes. I hope Yamaha India will listen to it and proceed accordingly, wish them Good Luck.

Would rather buy FZ-S over this for 3 main reasons:
    1) Larger Fuel tank

Those extra 10k would fetch a better helmet / riding gear.✌️

This is a thoughtful product from Yamaha. There was no retro type bike in this price and fuel economy bracket, petrol is 100/- litre. Will solve the purpose of daily commuting and occasional weekend rides. Since it's Yamaha quality & durability will be there. Will be competing with avenger 160 & intruder 150. It's unfair to compare it with 2 lakh+, 190kg and 30kmpl bikes!

Good for Family and I remember my first RX100. There are many videos of people riding high powered bikes and commenting on the YFZX as a low powered bike, I think its a good bike under the 150 segment and good for the ones who like to enjoy a comfy, smooth and a stable mid range speed. Because, to get my bike serviced, I have to book a slot ahead. I mer one more customer who is struggling to book a slot online and running around. Returned without servicing. Planning to sell my Bike at the earliest. . People who cannot book a slot for some reason, stay away from yamaha. Pearl Yamaha should have some option for direct drop ins.

Even after twenty years post RX demise, Yamaha has failed to understand Indian market in four stroke era. Milage hungry and budget savy customers never visit Yamaha showroom. That isn't what you are known for. However, performance enthusiasts everytime wait eagerly for your every new model only to be disappointed at the end. First serve the customers who know you rather than chasing unknown ones. Make a brand image like KTM in new generation and then using that brand image you will also be able to sell your 100-150cc utility bikes for budget customers.
Look at desi Bajaj, first they made their brand with Pulsar series and only thereafter were able to complete with Splendour in 100cc arena.

I am looking for a bike with refined, reliable and stable engine, low vibration, 50-55 mileage, comfortable riding position, good pickup, don't want to go beyond 80kmph(highway limit kerala), City+highway riding, Comfortable pillion for parents, with weekly 150 km travel, less than Rs.1.5 L, Littlebit retrolook. etc...
