Would you know how to get from Stella island/palace to where the bars are? we are going over on the 11th October but there doesnt seem to be much around our hotel !
I'm guessing you're booked into the Stella Palace hotel which is in Analipsi. To get to the bars and restaurants on my videos i'd suggest that you'll need a taxi. Hersonissos town and Koutouloufari are near enough the same distance from Analipsi (roughly 3.5 miles) - you can check it out on Google earth - there is street view in a lot of the places too. I wouldn't recommend walking it. You are actually closer to Gouves, but by mid October the season is winding down and bars and restaurants in Gouves may be shut/shutting. Most will still be open in Hersonissos though. You will probably be looking at ten to fifteen euros each way in a taxi from Analipsi to either Hersonissos or Koutouloufari.
We are stopping in the new resort, but i think its literally right next door to stella palace. Yes the bars in your video is where we want to go, looks decent on the videos, am i right in thinking the beach is there also? You wouldnt happen to know how far Malia is away from us do you? I'm not sure what the beach is like near where you're going to be staying. We always use the beach that is shielded by St Georges bay between the Creta Maris and Hersonissos Maris hotels (check Google maps out). Malia is roughly ten miles away heading East. I'd give Malia a wide berth unless you're after the excesses of the club 18-30 type of scene. If you've ever seen the TV show What happens in Kavos.... Malia is like that, but worse. It's so low rent that the tramp that used to live in the tent on the Wolverhampton ring road would have fitted in well there!
