I was mostly talking about marvel and dc comics since they're the biggest ones but anime and games like my hero academia and overwatch do a pretty good job with female heroes.
Bro you know she always been her own character since the 50s right plus that not changing Superman’s character as they both been in the same room before but it like you as you said appearing to the opposite gender as a role model that’s
I don’t think there’s a clear understanding of what is being said in this video. I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think the examples fully match with the subject matter. All of the characters that were mentioned, while yes are based on male counterparts, are their own realized and unique characters with their own complete and recognized personalities and stories that go in completely different directions than the males. Fun fact: She-Hulk was one of the first Marvel character to actively break the fourth wall and talk to the reader. Normal hulk can’t do that, showing that the writers are willing to try new things with the female counterparts. I like the topic, just think the research needs to be tweaked around.
@@iamcirby9463 All my goon talk videos are just improv but I get what you mean, I definitely steered off from what I meant in the title into representation of the original concept of the heroes like She-Hulk/Supergirl. The way they're portrayed in the bigger media makes them seem like less of their own character and more like a clone, hence the title/thumbnail. I'll try to stay on track better next time.
The thing with superheroes in particular… It’s just an innately masculine genre. Which absolutely doesn’t mean women can’t enjoy it. It doesn’t mean there are great female characters. But the superhero umbrella is just something men naturally gravitate towards more.
This thumbnail is a poor choice But characters like Supergirl and She-Hulk are their own characters SH was shite because of the people behind that show
They have pretty good character development in the comics but when it comes shows or movies they get a very lackluster personality due to the writing of the script.
I don’t really care about a character’s gender, race, sexual orientation. I honestly couldn’t care less. What I do care about is: 1. Good characters. Which is something many modern ‘diversified’ characters aren’t. I care about good writing and character work first in any story. The rest comes second, third and so on. 2. Soulless rehashes. If you make a new hero(ine) with the powers of a well established hero, don’t make them a soulless rehash with (lesser versions of) the same struggles and story beats. Give them new character dynamics, motivations, relationships. With a predecessor, they often should have a lot to look up to. I think how Miles is handled in Spider-Verse and the Spider-Man games is how you should give a well established moniker to a new person behind the mask. Miles is often portrayed as being artistic now, in terms of drawing/graffiti/music, whereas Peter usually did photography. Miles has different family dynamics. Oftentimes he has to look up to Peter Parker Spider-Man and comes to the realisation he can adapt the Spider-Man mantle in a way that suits his personality.
female versions of superheroes are fine but don’t let them overshadow the male version in their own movies or use the female version as a replacement. Spider verse is an example of how it should be, Thor love and thunder and quantmania is an example how it should not be
Usually they copy and paste because the backstory explains how they were inspired by the person they copy … the same way 10/10 black dudes from the hood are gonna have at least one pair of Js or more white girls wear volleyball shorts as a casual outfit. Don’t you understand that?
The DC multiverse, unless I'm mistaken, is all about choices and possibilities creating diverging realities . . So in an infinite multiverse, that X or Y chromosome should have a 50/50 shot. So really there should be more genderbending, if you think about it. lol
Dont post a controversial title and thumbnail if you are not willing to go all in in the video, you will get massive hatred from normie npc's like the ones who already commented in your video, and you are going to recieve contempt from the dissident people who actually do believe what you pretended you were gonna say, take a stance firmly if you are not a grifter.

@@Zenichii0 I see what you mean, there’s definitely truth to it.

It’s not innately. It’s designed. There’s a huge difference
They are not the same character. They both appear in the same story at the same time.
Super-girl has existed for a long time.
