Synopsis: As if starting Junior year wasn’t hard enough, try doing it at a new school without any friends. For 16 year old Sophie fitting in proves to be challenging. Things get off to an embarrassing start when mom goes full Karen mode on the school secretary. Being partnered with a pair of sexist guys in marketing class doesn’t make things easier for her - neither does learning about women’s rights when she can’t tell the gender of her study partner. A newfound crush convinces her to join his club - but is he too good to be true? From the trendy divas in her biology class to making friends with the friendliest Taylor Swift fan at school, authenticity proves hard to find. But with all the pressure to fit in, finding the courage to stand out becomes the biggest challenge of all.

I love how this was a lot more realistic with the not so mean girls girl and tackling alot of issues that high schoolers actually faced
Hannah’s part hit hard because I was the girl who was always super happy and wanting to be everyone’s friend. I’m starting high school soon and I’m just not the same person anymore and I hate it. I want my happy go lucky self back and I am so sad that I ever lost it.

No because Logan and Sophie were adorable. I did not see that coming, I totally expected her to end up with the hot guy but I guess people aren’t always what they seem. The ones who have a pretty picture aren’t always the best people.

I remember watching thirteen when I was about 10 hoping it would prepare me for middle school. I was a very shy preteen who was scared to express myself and had big dreams. Now I’m 20 and in college studying journalism and radio and advertising and I’m in a rock band playing guitar

@@user-cu4ei7om1i I was bullied initially but slowly became popular. I joined drama club, choir, art club, eco warriors (essentially environmental club), gaming club, and more. I wasn’t in the popular group and that actually helped me because the popular group stuck to themselves while I tried to socialise with everyone. I was still bullied while I was popular, I wasn’t immune or anything. At high school I could be a loner or unpopular or average depending on the time. I was bullied like hell. Not being popular allowed me to find more hobbies, drop hobbies, find my style and personality, and generally I had a lot more freedom to develop. As an adult I’m picking up the pieces and truly developing myself further. I helped form my college songwriting club with a friend and I’m going to concerts and parks with friends. My guitar playing and songwriting is progressing well and I just started singing lessons.

sounds like a dream. when i was younger i wanted to do political sciences and the like. came a whole different path rn (got into med school, dunno if i’ll last throughout but gotta do it). funny how time passes! wishes and love :)

As someone who loves thirteen, this was special.
I watched thirteen when I was a pre-teen. Today, I’m 14, and I was thinking about thirteen, so I decided to watch it. I stumbled upon sixteen, not even knowing about it. It was like a sign.
Since I’m in high school now, sixteen really connected to me. I love how the actors are relatable to high schoolers today. The way they act and dressed in this film is on point.
Anyways, this film made me feel hopeful. So thank you YAPTV for always coming out with the best films!!

I liked this one and I have also watched the princess and the frong one ,on here and I Liked it I get how the new girl feel I just like I wanted to make friends but people were mean ,
I'm 26, and I wish I could tell my 16yr old self to not worry about the future of what I want to become and just like this short film, nothing is as it seems, so there will be disappointments and surprises along the way and I like that saying "fake it until you make it" and the girl at the end who is finally happy with her natural beauty 😊. And Logan standing up for Sophie (to represent the women's equality rights as its shown throughout the series) is so cute the way it made her fall for his personality as she got to know him more and not like Cole anymore as she got to know him more.
Jeah, you`re right... i really appreciated the whole personal growing part of the protagonist and how literally every character had "another side"... so during the evets of this school jear all the charcters in it evolved and somhow became their "true self" ... and i also find the girl who played Sophie really pretty!
I love how they used the original characters from thirteen as characters in here💗

I usually hate these types of films because people act unnatural. But this was different, it was a lot more close to what reality feels and I loved it. Haven't seen a shortfilm (especially about high school or any school) that was this good.

This is so awesome. I watched thirteen when I was really young and now sixteen will play that role for young kids now. I can't believe how far we've come

The teacher in the woods who signs the forms is Nick Purcha. He was in Thirteen and played the character who sang the rap at the end. Plus the new social justice teacher is Brooke Bartlett who played one of the mean girls in Thirteen. And yes, the jazz choir adjudicators are Delaney Moline and Sophie Turner who are the student council ABC girls in Thirteen.

It's pretty cute I feel like a lot of the conversations don't sound like they come from actual teenagers but they're good. All the themes resonate.This is like a really sweet movie.
