- A book review of Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice
A science fiction dystopian novel published in 2018.
Our main character is called Evan. He has a partner called Nicole and two young children - a son called Maiingan who is 5 years old and a daughter called Nangohns who is 3 years old. We first meet him as he is on the final hunt of the year before winter arrives. He is hunting a moose. Then the TV's stop working, the mobile phones stop working and the internet goes down. Then the landline phones stop working and the power goes off. We follow Evan and his family, and his wider community, through these unprecedented times. A tale of survival.
Waubgeshig Rice is an Anishinaabe writer from the Wasauksing First Nation near Ontario, Canada.

I'm glad you enjoyed this one! Eerie is such a good word for it. I'm going to reread it before I read the sequel. I didn't realise it was so difficult to buy!
Thank you. I hope you enjoy your re-read! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the second book ☺
Adding this one to my list to get!
Yay! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did ☺
It sounds intriguing, it would be scary with no communication with the outside world.
Definitely very scary!
I really liked this book, too. Hope you'll find the sequel somewhere. :)
I'm so pleased to hear that you enjoyed this one too! Have you read the second book? ☺
@@christinacampbellbooks No, not yet, but I'll probably get the audiobook in the fall. :)
