The best version of the theme tune. Loved it even when I was a child. Sunday nights, knowing there was school in the morning, which I didn’t really look forward to, but oh how I would go back in a heartbeat. Life was so good then. I just didn’t realise it.
0:30 Leading Firefighter Malcolm Cross with his trademark smirk! Love it. What a great character he was! Remember when he slipped his sexy flatmate's boss horse laxatives at dinner? 🤣🤣🤣
loved london burning tv series great show and the theme tunes l was growing up as a teenager in the 80s era loved it so much the theme tunes all time top 100 list good actress and actors and the classic fire stations in london . r.i p london burning tv series all time greatest show of the 80s era
Apart from the movie, he was the only one to star from start to end. If Sicknote wasn't killed off in at the end of series 12/13. He would had be the longest from the movie to the end.
I use to watch Heartbeat then London's Burning like a religion back in the day, after London's Burning bedtime lol. But when I bought the 2 big boxsets series 1-7 & 8-14. I realised I only liked series 1-10. 1-13 was okay cause of the theme and series 14 kinda sucked I realised. I was a kid when I watched these and my mum was pregnant with me when this started in 88 and I was born in late August 88. So I didn't realise till I got the boxsets in my early/mid 20's. That's when I realised 1-10 was the bomb.
When I worked in Chelmsford I used to see Glenn Murphy come into the shop where I worked as he lived not far from there. A really nice guy to chat too.
@@wheelie_1988 same here lol. Back then though I had no idea of the story line, only watched it for the fires 🔥 I was around 8 or 9. Recently watched series 1&2 the shouts brought back so many memories and was brilliant to actually get the story line.
@@jasontrainer-alps5699 I was born halfway through series 1 back in August 88 lol. I do remember the theme from the original and alot of the episodes. But I mostly remember series 11-14. Since I was 9-13/14. It was only till I bought the two boxsets series 1-7 & 8-14. I realised I only actually liked the movie to series 10 lol. Series 11-13 I only liked the theme and the how the title started. Series 14 sucked. I was in my early/mid 20's when I got the botsets.
Carole Webb had such a sultry voice, and a great voice to listen to for a Scouser. When she'd do role call and lower her voice and say Bluewatch 'tention! For your duties, fall out! That was just wicked.
Love that constant guitar twang a great beat Simon Brint and Roddy Mathews are geniuses. The early series were produced by Paul Knight The 1998 theme was composed by Warren Bennett I liked that one but it was never as good as the original
London’s Burning really turned soapy towards the end, when the show ended In 2002 it was around the same time that Paul Marquess took over as producer on The Bill and the very same thing happened it became soapy and from then on the show died a slow death
Yeah, and they totally ruined George's character towards the end, turned him into a joke. He used to be so cool and sound, although a little accident prone lol
No, they never played this theme in whole in the series, it was chopped about for the end credits, although it did appear in a special programme which was made with LWT to show the making of the fourth series.
@@SingingFireCadet Maybe because his father worked with a lot of men and women like the characters that these actors portray, and maybe he met some of the actors too doing their research.
I had this one on TV themes tape, I thought it was a great version and that is a famous English nursery rhyme history stemming from The Great Fire of London. I remember a special which is on one of the DVDs that has a bit of this version on it with the Rhyme called “ Stunts and Stars” .
The kids singing should've been at the start and then blended/faded in with the intro. I think the roll call should've been at the end. *BLUE WATCH, BLUE WATCH SHUN!* *BLUE WATCH FOR YOUR DUTIES FALL OUT!*
I just want to add that they RUINED the show when they got rid of this absolutely classic theme and replaced it with a poxy "modern" electronic riff as part of an intro and in the closing credits!
You knew the weekend was over once you heard this theme song, Time for bed, School in the morning
Heartbeat then London's Burning on a Sunday night lol.
The best version of the theme tune. Loved it even when I was a child. Sunday nights, knowing there was school in the morning, which I didn’t really look forward to, but oh how I would go back in a heartbeat. Life was so good then. I just didn’t realise it.
By far the best long theme version available for this tv series, oh and that Sax rocks.
it was bread and then londons burning then spitting image and bed school monday the good old days of tv
We must be roughly the same age as I watched all those shows then. Child of ‘83 here. :)
One of the best TV themes, what a series, takes me back

One of the popular British Firefighters tv shows ever in the UK back in the 80s to 20s.
Some good photos here. George Green, what a hard man, and so cool! Brilliant.
Apart from the movie, he was the only one to star from start to end. If Sicknote wasn't killed off in at the end of series 12/13. He would had be the longest from the movie to the end.
@@wheelie_1988 Have to say, I had a bit of a man crush on George, and Nick Georgiadis... 🤣 Couple of cool blokes!
Great theme... classic with the 1980s/90s sax.

Best part?
Hearing John Hallam barking out the Roll Call
I left the UK in the late 90s. When I see and hear this, it suddenly gives me a massive craving to go home, and back to 1990s Britain!
When I worked in Chelmsford I used to see Glenn Murphy come into the shop where I worked as he lived not far from there. A really nice guy to chat too.
By far the best of the three
💯👍👍👍 remember this tv series got all of them on dvd box set
80s when they had good shows on tv
1:22 Kevin Medhurst "tough guy" pose... LMAO
That tune meant only one thing, weekend was over and school was around the corner

Leading Firefighter Geoff "Poison" Pearce. What a right bastard... but a quality fire fighter!
4 on4 off still the best shift workers pattern
Glen murphy who played George ask me out while filming London burning i said no because he was a married man

One of the best TV series ever, but not the same without Sidney Tate. (James Marcus).
Why l have met some of them because my dad is a ex fireman in Devon for 30 year's
oh really how have you met them if there not even real firefighters they are actors

For me, this version is spoiled by the roll call and the children singing.

*BLUE WATCH FOR YOUR DUTIES FALL OUT!*
Sadly I gotta agree.
I fucking hate the children singing. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SERIES. I'll give them credit for the rollcall
