I have lived in Thailand 19 years in the North East ( Isaan ) so many dogs have Ridgebacks, most dogs are strays ( Soi Dogs ) but the ones the Thais use as Guard Dogs are the Bangkaew, these dogs are not easy to make friends with and are aggressive, well all the ones I have met are. Soi Dogs are generally friendly I get on with them very well some are very weary because they get kicked and mistreated, but are nice dogs if you take the time to get to know them. I have one as a pet, but sorry never ever would I trust a Bangkaew.
BangKaew is a Thai dog cross breed with a Thai Wolf. 10 out of 10 aggressive+protect 10 out of 10 overly love the owner Only disadvantage is they are overly aggressive and hardly to accept the stranger even they are your friend. It's because those Bangkaew they overly love the owner.😂😂😂
Any advice if I was to get one? I’ve owned many dogs before, is yours friendly with other dogs? My old German Shepard was not playful with other dogs which makes exercising hard, it’s probably all part of the correct upbringing including lots of play while young
@@jjjos no, he is not good with other dogs especially if they are small, puppies or passive. He attacks right away. He is also not good with children. With adults he is good 90% of the time. I stopped taking him to dog runs because he attacks other dogs without warning.

@@jjjos They are mainly hunting dogs, that's why they need a lot of exercise. They are natural guard dogs though, not unlike their Rhodesian ridgeback namesake. They have one main master and are defensive of their family. They're more willing to please than Rhodesian ridgebacks but still have a stubborn stroke if you don't train them well cause they are very intelligent. The weakest point of this dog is two things... 1. We training and use this dog for hunting animal a thousands years ago, the predator instinct is still there. You can not have more than two male of this dog live together in the same house. 2.And you need to training them as well to live with chicken or duck etc (if you have), otherwise they are killing every animal in your area. In Thailand we live and safe in the land of snake by having Thairiged dog as a good bodyguard. Just yesterday one male and two female my Thairiged dog teamwork killing cobra 2.5 metre long and live the death body of the cobra there and return home eat my Pedigree. 😁😁😁 What happens if i don't have this dog and cobra come inside my house.

That’s not accurate. The Rhodesian Ridgeback line originated from crosses between European dogs with the local African dogs of the Khoikhoi.
I have a red one exactly like in the video and she is the love of my life
it's true about cobra defense. I used to have one in Thailand. he broke a chain to stop a cobra from slithering into up our driveway
I have a Blue Nose Pit mixed with a Thai Ridgeback. Quite a handful. Beautiful dog. The territorial tendencies are obvious Crazy guarding..

Simply inquire from the American Kennel Club. They should have a list of Breeders in the US.
