haven't read a novel in a while but was drawn to this book in the bookstore...now I can't put it down. Thank you for this interview, the richness, passion and truth from Richard really comes through in the book.

It's fab isn't it Amy! So pleased that it's managed to break your reading funk. If you're tempted to read another novel of his I'd highly recommend The Gold Bug Variations.

Finished reading Overstory last week as part of the MB longlist. What an amazing story! Love those characters that he created in the novel.

This book should be a must read for all human beings. It might just be the catalyst we need to survive as a species.

Good job! I can't believe how many books Richard has read about trees!
He has a great chance of scooping a prize which would be richly deserved.

I just received this book i must explain i do really believe that mankind should 8nterfere as little as possible, from this book you realise that natural world is there working in its own way to prosper and become Magnificent specimens I love trees, their different ways of growing and maturing. There are old Oaks at least 800 years if not more in Britain. Birch trees have loose bark like paper, they thinner than many trees. Like mushrooms they all communicate with each. I saw the programme with Judy Dench , she was shown thstbtrees have a heartbeat as the Sap ( ' blood ' ) circulates through, it,s system, they communicate through their root system in a forest. It confirmed to me that the ' tree huggers' were 9n the right track.! The whole nature communes with all The author won the Poltimore prize 2019!!!!!
