This video has been requested quite a bit lately. So I thought I would deliver and also try my hand at a declutter. 29 lipsticks to 'back to MAC'… I dont think I did too bad… I think I'll find one more make it an even 30 :) I used to go a little crazy on new MAC collections but I've been a bit better more recently and some lipstick shades just needed to go. I did swatch everything and from what I saw while editing things were showing up pretty true to color, so I hope that was helpful :) I guess you could also call this a favorite MAC lipsticks video as well, I tried to make extra note of my favorites :) I hope you all enjoyed this video, THANK YOU for watchin' 'n until later… BYE!! xx
P.S. I realize that I made reference to liking and disliking the MAC matte formula quite a few times, it is because the formula is not the same, the newer ones I find are not as drying and the older… quite drying for me… so I hope that wasn't confusing :)

Have you ever considered doing a series of 'Dupes' videos? You, out of anyone, would be able to provide possible options for the very expensive TF, Charlotte Tilbury, Dior, etc that most people can't afford. Although most alternatives may not be able to match the luxurious texture, it would be helpful to get some alternatives that match or come close to color. Hope you're having a great week with lots of🌞 (w/sunscreen, of course).

+Warcraft1989 she's not throwing them away. she said in response to another comment that she will be "Back to MAC-ing" them. It's a program where for every 6 lipstick containers you bring back you get one free lipstick of choice. So they won't be wasted, just recycled.

Hey Tara! This may be a shot in the dark, but I'm a longtime viewer and I think you mentioned once some crazy person tried to steal your makeup and you caught them as they were getting away and some of your makeup got run over or something? Is that what happened to the Viva Glam Gaga lipstick?! :O Lol, random but I just remembered when you said "it's a long story" when you brought up the lipstick.
The stolen makeup story is much worse than the run over gaga lipstick... I actually carry a really small purse and i was out of town and had gone shopping and somewhere amongst carrying in the shopping bags...my little purse slipped through ... When i realized it was gone i ran out to the parking lot and a lady was holding it n said is this yours? I was sure Thankful it was found but i hadnt made it in time...it had been run over... My phone looked far worse than the gaga lipstick :/
Tarababyz only a crazy lady would steal from a country girl, can anyone say shotgun? Lol. Oh! I ran over my purse one time, and thankfully I didn't have anything in it besides one lipstick, some cards and a little cash. My phone was on my seat :). Whew!

I'm watching this video in 2021 and thinking we need to set up a museum of makeup with your collection. Lol - it gives me some feels that you love beauty products so much.
For every 6 empty MAC products u can get a free lipstick. Thats what i did, the lipsticks i didn't like anymore i simply scraped out the lipstick but kept the packages to save to return to MAC for their recycling program.

Jessie Brennan true not everyone like it. it looks more brown on me, so when I bought it online I hated it. but I wear it on top of Nyx milk pencil and it shows up more true to color. So now I love it. Although the it's a cult favorite for some it takes some manipulation to look good, or some just don't like it. snob is a cult favorite and I don't think I'll ever buy it, because it'd look hideous on me.

If you want to throw them out, cut out the old lipstick on the inside and keep the case or container. if you save 6 empty or old containers you get 1 free lipstick

This one in particular inspired me to downsize my own lipstick collection. If you decide to do any more of these types of decluttering things I bet a lot of people would enjoy seeing them!

this is really helpful, i don't own any mac and, every time i was past i see the amount of lipsticks that are there and it makes me anxious, so i just avoid it, but i have narrowed down what i want and am determined to go and just pick out the ones on my list, thanx tara! i really like these videos!

Hey Tara, if you have the limited packaging ones that you really love... Just freeze them pop out the lipstick the just replace it with another color you like. Make sure to freeze the second one too. But it's a great way to keep the nice tubes.
when you get something new take a sharpie and write the date you got it on them

Mac won't let you. They won't let you back to Mac them if they're marked on
There is a code on the bottom that consists of letters and numbers that tells you when it was made. So you could sort of tell when you should get rid of it. :)
I use a label maker I got at staples for $15 bucks. I make the label with the date and put it along the side of the lipsticks and mascaras & whatever else I want to keep track of. That way I can just peel it off and participate in the 'Back to Mac' if I end up not using it as I should be. Hope that helps a bit.
I have a list on excel and it's so easy bc I can organize them all by colour and date. You can even just make a chart on word or write it down by hand if you want

since theres some that you love the packaging for but aren't comfortable wearing anymore, you should make them into art for your makeup room! For instance put them into shadow boxes or put them onto shelves so you can see them everyday instead of keeping them in your makeup drawers :)
I was thinking something like that or melting the ones she loves the colour of and then running them doen a canvas and clear coat them in varnish

oooooh yesss.. I was looking around for a lipstick video. Now.. whatever happened to Mac's "Sobe" lipstick?!??!? That was BY FAR, my favorite lipstick of ALL TIME. I bought that over and over again, I loved it so much, and then they phased it out, and nothing compares to that. I loved how super matte it was, and the color flattered my skin tone so much. I cannot believe they discountinued that, I was so shocked.

The UK have this scheme too! If you bring 6 MAC containers (lipstick, eyeshadow concealer etc) back to a store/counter, you get to choose a free lipstick!
