Exactly. Most powerful cars from years ago were affordable except the for rare versions. Manufacturers started the craze by dropping bigger motors from larger cars into mid sized cars and simply adding bigger brakes and some minor suspension upgrades, which did not cost a lot.

The Cobra Jet got completely destroyed by the Drag Paks until the Challengers were forced to add weight. They STILL dominated. Im in bismarck, our chrysler dealership got only 1 demon 170 to sell, when it was avalible 27 people showed the first day at opening, at noon it sold for %100 mark up over msrp at $200,000
Just to think Ths will be the Next Dodge Charger Daytona of our time, The Banned, Record Breaking, Legend we will all know, and Dream About. The Demon 170 is why i love Dodge as a company, and the discontinuation of the Charger and Challenger is why a hate Stellantis

I am the biggest Mopar fan this side of the Mississippi. My first car was a 67 barracuda. It was the slant six so nothing crazy fast. But I loved that car. The last car I wanted was the Dodge viper. Now it's safe to say that I would love to have this car. The new modifications on the demon are next level. Add all the bells and whistles and it makes this the best car ever. Please let me have one for testing purposes.

I am pretty sure there are using a hellaphant engine block on these car. Cuz the hellaphant block and hold more power. They were blow up engines before and that's why is was taking long to bring this out, and to idea of using that.
Due to the advertised quarter mile speed of the final edition Challenger SRT 170. The NHRA requires a Competition license to drive this car on an NHRA dragstrip. Dodge is also requiring a signed release. I'm guessing this releases Dodge from any liability for drivers who are over their head driving this race car like a race car on the street. I have to ask. With the very limited production numbers and previous Demon owners getting first shot and dealers who decide to keep their allotment. How do you propose getting one of these Cars. I kept hearing Dodge was using the Helephant engine. It appears it used a modified 6.2 with a ton of boost.
Good point, I was starting to feel hopeless for the RT since there is more desirable mopars. My guess is it will take a minimum of 20 years for RTs to be of significant value.
It already has. An RT charger is 45k now the same frigging car you could buy for 32k back in 2020. My damn Scat pack I paid 40k for is 60k now. It's a joke I love what dodge did but they still have really bad quality control.
By the time the dealerships get there hands on this it's going to be $300K. It's only 3,000 being made!! Some dealerships will purposely hold on to it so they can get $500K plus. Poor pricing for Dodge. I'd rather the Manufacturers make that money than the dealerships.

Many racers like Racer X and Demonlogy have already gotten this much power out of their cars and, at least with Racer X, had a fully drivable car to carry the family around. For the price, not the MSRP but for the price you will actually pay at the dealer, I would have liked to have seen a car that can also drive every day and handle. Even the look of the car is underwhelming - "regular" Redeyes look sharper. No 426 No aluminum block This may end up being a $200K out the door drag car that is a half second or so faster than a Demon - and onyl a prepped track with drag radials. For me, track only cars should be affordable and fun. If the dealer markups drive this to 200k, I would be looking more at an all around star like a BMW M5 CS. If you can actually buy it around $110K, then I am impressed.
Sold it already once the last call vehicles where able to sell… guy put a 10k deposit on it … even not knowing how much it is…. Then autonation bought our dealership and I quit (superbee/#7 and /king Daytona all sold SMH) history in these machines!!

For them to squeeze out over 1K horsepower from the factory, no amount of exhaust or headers will improve the HP number, they for sure did their research and are getting every single HP from the headers and exhaust. Guaranteed that aftermarket exhaust and headers will reduce HP or be lucky to match it.
I remember when the Mustang GT returned, and auto journalist were salivating over its 175hp! People back then knew, they just knew, emissions requirements had killed the muscle car.
So what exactly is behind the rear license plate? You guys spaced out in the video, and didn't actually say what it was. Looks like the fuel filler neck, like on my Chevelle, but it looks to still have a fuel filler on the rear fender, so I don't know. Is that the parachute system you're talking about later? If so, does it come with the car, or do you have to get that separately?

They had to build something to keep up with the Model S plaid the race I seen on CZcams it blew the plan off the map because of its launch control it's made for driving one quarter mile at a time that's big American balls right there
Lol I would think 60' time is 1.66, not 0-60 mph. Unless the weight is brought down substantially for this production run, that car would need well over 1200 hp to get close to an 8 sec run being a portly 4200 lbs!

I agree besides the new emblem it looks the same as any other Challenger. Just like the Hellcat and Scatpack only thing thats different are the emblems. Atleast they could've put 4 exhaust pipes for this.

I love how it's painted the same primer gray and black color as the 1968 Dodge Dart factory superstock. A nice touch with the hood too...
Not only is it an amazing way to send off a great series of cars it will probably be an incredible investment for collectors.

I am the biggest Mopar fan this side of the Mississippi. My first car was a 67 barracuda. It was the slant six so nothing crazy fast. But I loved that car. The last car I wanted was the Dodge viper. Now it's safe to say that I would love to have this car. The new modifications on the demon are next level. Add all the bells and whistles and it makes this the best car ever. Please let me have one for testing purposes.

I am pretty sure there are using a hellaphant engine block on these car. Cuz the hellaphant block and hold more power. They were blow up engines before and that's why is was taking long to bring this out, and to idea of using that.

Due to the advertised quarter mile speed of the final edition Challenger SRT 170. The NHRA requires a Competition license to drive this car on an NHRA dragstrip. Dodge is also requiring a signed release. I'm guessing this releases Dodge from any liability for drivers who are over their head driving this race car like a race car on the street.
I have to ask. With the very limited production numbers and previous Demon owners getting first shot and dealers who decide to keep their allotment. How do you propose getting one of these Cars. I kept hearing Dodge was using the Helephant engine. It appears it used a modified 6.2 with a ton of boost.

By the time the dealerships get there hands on this it's going to be $300K. It's only 3,000 being made!! Some dealerships will purposely hold on to it so they can get $500K plus. Poor pricing for Dodge. I'd rather the Manufacturers make that money than the dealerships.

I know I am in a minority of one, but I am not blown away by this car. Many racers like Racer X and Demonlogy have already gotten this much power out of their cars and, at least with Racer X, had a fully drivable car to carry the family around. For the price, not the MSRP but for the price you will actually pay at the dealer, I would have liked to have seen a car that can also drive every day and handle. Even the look of the car is underwhelming - "regular" Redeyes look sharper.

If the dealer markups drive this to 200k, I would be looking more at an all around star like a BMW M5 CS.

For them to squeeze out over 1K horsepower from the factory, no amount of exhaust or headers will improve the HP number, they for sure did their research and are getting every single HP from the headers and exhaust. Guaranteed that aftermarket exhaust and headers will reduce HP or be lucky to match it.

So what exactly is behind the rear license plate? You guys spaced out in the video, and didn't actually say what it was. Looks like the fuel filler neck, like on my Chevelle, but it looks to still have a fuel filler on the rear fender, so I don't know. Is that the parachute system you're talking about later? If so, does it come with the car, or do you have to get that separately?
It's the mount for the chute. Looks like a square trailer hitch with a pin. Chute is an additional purchase.

Lol I would think 60' time is 1.66, not 0-60 mph. Unless the weight is brought down substantially for this production run, that car would need well over 1200 hp to get close to an 8 sec run being a portly 4200 lbs!

The 0- 60 time could be a mistake, but that number is being repeated everywhere.
No one will ever do sub 9 sec in that car stock. Isn't there supposed to be a roll cage and seat with harness.. also could they not make it look any better than that....also again didn't they say they weren't making any more demons? Can they be in another lawsuit over these like they are with the Durango

I agree besides the new emblem it looks the same as any other Challenger. Just like the Hellcat and Scatpack only thing thats different are the emblems. Atleast they could've put 4 exhaust pipes for this.
