SlRvb vault looks so cool!
This is so helpful. I'm just getting started so I'm mostly consuming everything I can find that is related to using Obsidian as a GM. Everyone learns in different ways so if anyone out there is wondering if people would benefit from another 'how I use Obsidian' video, the answer is always 'yes'.
I can't thank you all enough. Similar to Apolaine, I am a 53 year old red-box veteran returning to the game, funny enough, to play with my adult children & their friends. Being the old guy, earned me the "Will you DM for us?" So here I am re-learning it again in the digital age. I've been looking a way to turn my iPad into my Campaign Grimoire and this has helped tremendously!
just found obsidian, and have been following Nicole's work. I am mainly a player rather than DM, but using some many of these features to make notes of the sessions.

I was looking for a better way of structuring my notes (incl. links, to-dos, kanbans, pics, vids, etc) for work for a couple of month now. Recently I stumbled over obsidian and was blown away by its possibilities and adaptability!
Me and couple of friends ran session zero for Call Of Cthulhu last weekend, and I will be the keeper (GM/DM), after 20 years in which I haven't played TTRPGs. Being 39 and not 19 years old, I wanted to get a well structured adventure together and have all the infos (in different media) always at hand.
And BOOM: YT suggests this video to me. The different takes on working with obsidian really help me out. Thank you so much!
It is always interesting to see the difference between what highly compulsive perfectionists do in contrast to highly effective people. Lets you experience the pareto principle from both sides.

Thanks for the insights! As a long time DM, what I would like to see in Obsidian plug-ins would be a round tracker for spells/abilities/conditions. This would go pretty nicely with the initiative tracker Jeremy made, and would include a round counter (round 1, round 2 round 3, etc) and when a player or monster casts a spell or uses an ability, you could flag the character with '1 minute' or '3 rounds' etc. and the effect would last 10 turns or 3 turns or whatever for that character, showing some kind of symbol or flag on the character, with the flag disappearing when the round limit was reached. Ideally, you would be able to add effects/conditions per the spell/ability/etc, such as blinded, grappled, etc. Manually creating the effect would be fine, bonus if you could link a spell or ability. Just thought I would throw that out there. I am new to obsidian and I think it is an awesome tool for gaming, and the plugins you all have made are great!
This sorta thing is something you would put in as a feature request in their GitHub pages, they will most likely never see it here
Section roller would be great for pulling a single rumor from a page of rumors, or a quote from a page of quotes.

I've been trying to figure this out and I've gotten pretty far so far. How did Leah make it so that in the dataview table it showed the summary of the session in the table? I've been having a difficult time finding anything on that specifically. I've gotten a table with all my sessions, npcs, locations, and then summary but the summary is always just a "-".

Oh very interesting video! Thank you for this great content. Just a quick question, does anyone know what the graphic template for the first presentation (of jeremy) ? I really like the colors.
Is Jeremy's theme mentioned anywhere? (2hrs of amazing info and all I am asking is themes -- I promise I have so many notes.)
As someone new to Obisidan, I would love to know what plugins these folks are using to do some of these things. A lot of stuff I'm trying to copy verbatim (though sometimes the camera blocks) just to learn how it works, and then it doesn't cause its from some plugin I don't have.
