Happy 1st Anniversary to the Come Learn With Pibby short! Kinda crazy that’s it been a year since then 😳 I remember when I came across Out of context clips of it and it terrified me legitimately. And then I watched the whole pilot and was immediately fixated. Such an impact that I’ve made quite a lot of music and animation based on it. And you guys seemed to be obsessed alongside men Cant let the anniversary just go by without something special, so me and a few other team members on /Pibby prepared this video for you!
The song has actually been in production for almost a year as well, I wrote this track not too long after hearing “Kiss Me (Kill Me)” and wanted to apply some of my favorite themes from that video to Pibby. We even got the singer from that video too, so it’s all full circle! A lot of the skeleton of this song has stayed vastly the same, but everything around it has evolved so much. Hope you guys have fun digging into the chunk of the story revealed if you look into the video closely 👀👀👀

The one thing i am happy about is the fact that someone FINALLY acknowledges the existence of Pibby's friends aside from Bun Bun.

That’s not very creative idea.
Not sure if others get it. But BunBun is talking about the ending of their show and has found a way for shows to “Continue” after ending. That’s why you see all the hands reaching out of characters that had their shows end but wanted the chance to continue on. My guess would be when a show ends the characters see it as dying which would explain Pibby’s verse of saying goodbye wouldn’t mean they would die and then the screen glitches. (I also got curious and looked this up and the show itself…Let’s say this animation isn’t just fan made like this)
But i'm pretty sure sans' hand was there as well but he's from a Game... He is STILL popular so i wouldnt understand why he was there...

I love how the title changes in meaning after watching for the first time.
Just like the video, the title’s name has a happy and innocent first impression. This song gives me so many emotions at once, but mostly sadness. Imagine your entire home coming to an end, no matter how much you run, things around you come to an end, you either just fight it, or accept your fate.

You know, this song made me realize something that was technically obvious, but it could play into Pibby's potential plot.
No other show or characters have the ability to see the audience watching them. Pibby and her friends do.
Unlike EVERY other cartoon genre, they can break the fourth wall regularly. Which could mean whatever the darkness is, it could eventually be trying to escape the confides of TV. Hence why BunBun becomes the primary antagonist once combined with the darkness.

I've seen a lot of comments suggesting characters that have technically broken the fourth wall before, and I feel like I should clarify what I meant. I wasn't referring to shows or characters that have made a couple meta jokes or had a meta episode. I am SPECIFICALLY referring that no other genre is built to look at the screen and be able to see and talk to their viewers regularly. Pre-school shows are the only kind of show that address their audience the way they do; as real kids watching them to learn, interact with the show, and be entertained. No meta reference in any of kind of genre comes even close to it.
So as a pre-school designed to talk to people in the real world, Pibby and her friends are unique.

Holy crap your right! These characters belong to a preschool education type show. Meaning they are designed to break the forth wall in order to influence the viewers. And that’s what the darkness wants! Like you said. It wants to break the confinements of the tv and networks!
Only ones I can think of is Courage from Courage the cowardly dog looking at the camera, and even then most of the time it was once or twice.... very interesting

Worth adding that though there are technically other characters in shows that have occasionally broke the fourth wall from time to time, Pibby is especially designed to do so regularly.
Making her show stand out WAY more on this front compared to any other genre.
Sad irony that the most innocent characters of all have the potential to be used to break reality...
I love how the beginning is such a convincing children's song. Like, a song with simple lyrics about how even though saying goodbye makes you sad in the moment, it's necessary because you can't stay at you friend house forever. That's a good lesson to teach children! But then it warps and shows that even though "never saying goodbye" *sounds* nice it's really, really not.

Thanks for the random reminder of how amazing of an idea Pibby is as a concept youtube. God how much something like this would be so cool to see, but because of just so many reasons it cannot happen. Just every episode would be labelled like a pre-school lesson like "staying quiet" and "know when to call for help" and they'd feature a different cast of cartoons best characters. As we slowly watch Pibby's friend Rabbit be taken over by Glitches... It'd be so cool!
The animator has actually captured the style of the trailer of Pibby perfectly. Its amazing and I could watch this over and over just to see the animation. If they animated a whole new trailer I honestly would believe its real

Considering Pibby has yet to reveal any major plans for a show (that I know of) I would honestly believe this to be the best idea for a plot and villain motive.

Honestly? Kinda hope that the story tackles how streaming sites can make or break the ability of your show even being remotely viewable anymore for some reason. I feel like they've set up the void pretty well for it imo? Edit: The more I listen to this song, the more I sympathize with the darkness. All things have to end that is just how the world works, but it is such a harsh reality that no one wants to come to terms with. We kick and scream in desperation, trying to find any possible way to prevent that from happening and keep things just as they were. When a cartoon ends, although everything still remains and we can go back and watch all the good times, it will never be the same and the show just slowly melts away into obscurity as times goes on with only a select few remembering them. I'm aware that anyone possessed by the darkness did not have a choice in the matter, but as time progressed perhaps it showed them something. A future where they and everyone they knew was left to rot away and fade into obscurity, which would explain that awful void of black towers with cartoons trapped inside of them. Although the darkness manipulated their minds, the characters are ultimately the ones who are choosing to continue onward not only for themselves but for their loved ones. Anything is better than nothing.
Anyways thanks for reading my ramblings, I just wanna put it out there in case anyone else has any other ideas or wants to clarify or correct anything I got wrong.

I found another potentially important detail. If you pull a Mario Galaxy and focus on all the letters that are corrupted during BunBun's verse from 1:53, it spells out the name "SMITH". This might be referring to the Jamie Smith from the single newspaper frame in 1:25, which talks about the S.T.A.T.I.C Machine. This was mentioned earlier which, alongside 0:57 and 1:12, suggests that the corruption is a side-effect of an animation AI.
That would explain why many things relating to Jake's version of Pibby use forward-slashes "/", it's as though they are command prompts for the AI to produce animations with.

i looked at one of the frames and it looked like smith has a daughter that watched the show learning with pibby. and passed away with black liquids dripping in her eyes/mouth(probably the glitch in real life) and probably got trapped. in the last part of the music video there is people, yeah. I slowed the video down while watching and while doing so, i was able to read a few things.
One: S.T.A.T.I.C was a thing that was created, and people knew about it.
Two: An explosion happened at a facility, and a little girl had gone missing. A search party had searches and found nothing.
Three: James Smith seems to have a lot of things to do with this since he is the CEO of S.T.A.T.I.C.

With this song giving more lore, now it’s got me thinking. Bun Bun doesn’t want to lose those close them, and the void likely hunts down those with similar feelings. Finn and Jake are corrupted quickly for their amazing brotherly love and desire to always stay together. Steven Quartz Universe had a crisis of not being wanted or needed by those he loves, Spinel was already abandoned once and doesn’t want to be abandoned again. Maybe the void itself hunts indiscriminately, but Bun Bun affecting it might know just who to persuade to their side.

Like, in kid's shows in this genre they have goodbye segments that talk to directly to the audience (like the backyardigans.) Neat how their ending song turns into the origin song of the virus.

Okay, let's see what they did here that made me fall in love with this masterpiece:
1.- Bun Bun and Pibby's voices are INCREDIBLY well done.
2.- The animation is absolutely spot on.
3.- The rythm first starts off so upbeat and cute but then smoothly turns desaturated and creepy.
4.- It gives you the impression that it's going to be an innocent song just for it to take a dark turn (similar to reason #3)
5.- The visuals give you the vibe that it's an apocolypse and nowhere is safe.
6.- The drawings are well portrayed and nicely done.
7.- I love how at the end the FNF vocals kind of sound like words.
8.- It's catchy, so I'm having a hard time getting bored of it (and that's a really good thing!)
9.- There were more characters in the background than JUST being Pibby and Bun Bun (the friends, Boyfriend)
10.- I liked how the "Smith" easter egg was put in the glitchy letters of the lyrics.

The concept of Bun Bun not wanting the show to end and the darkness plaguing his mind and using his desires to manipulate him, and then going on to do the same to other characters with the same desires most likely. It’s such an interesting motivation. All things end eventually, but not everyone is willing to accept that.

Food for thought: Ever notice how, aside from a few exceptions like Dee Dee and BunBun for example, it is shown in the trailer that the darkness mainly goes after the protagonists of shows rather than their sidekicks. I don't know, it might be a coincidence.
It does make sense though, since protagonists, especially in cartoons, have the most plot armour and are quite often close to invincible (which is why a lot of corrupted characters have to be left, since they can't be killed or saved so escape id the only option) so I'd say that the corruption is clever for going to the protagonists
@@_-REDACTED-_ I think its much closer to the fact most protagonists especially in more adventure based cartoons are often either the most powerful or most influential people in their worlds and or destined to be the catalyst for change to make it a better world. The whole "plot armor" thing goes out the window with more comedy based shows like Ed ,Edd and Eddy when the entire show revolves around those three getting humiliated one way or another. Granted those three are at their best when they are together and any one of them going down would be a huge moral blow to the other two. At other times there are often characters more skilled or powerful than the protagonists but depending on where and when the protag is corrupted can have very dire ramifications for that world. If the glitch IS specifically targetting protagonists I believe the main goal is to destablize the world as much as possible and likely inhibit the growth of other characters who left unchecked could grow into an actual threat. After all Pibby herself is an example of this as she was a characer in a learning program for young children and by the end of the trailer grew into herself enough to rally the survivors and learned how to fight to defend herself at others and that isn't even going into the sidekick and the villianess who at least learned to care about others aside from her role pushed her to be.
@@TheShuuman I agree! I think that both explanations make sense depending on the specific series. Influence and power cross over in many ways. But they are two very different things even though that difference setting them apart often relies on the plot and/or genre of the series and sometimes even the nature of the characters. The characters being targeted based on how influential they are makes perfect sense and I absolutely agree with you that the aim seems to be to destabilize the sense of balance in each world. But also focusing on power in other ways would make sense in SOME scenarios. Something like this couldn't realistically focus on only one thing to get out of targets in every series. In rpg fighting games, as an example, you want a variety of character types to make an ideally functional team. So changing focus with every individual world and altering their goals to best suit their needs makes a lot of sense. So in a sense, I can see both of us being equally right, since in practice, focusing on one singular goal can't work every time and the more chaos that ensues (as implied by potential threats being left unchecked) the easier a world will be to take advantage of in such a vulnerable state. I apologise for my grave oversight and thank you for sharing your thoughts and (incredibly well-thought-out) theories! (I do mean that genuinely, thank you for the insight and I'm sorry for overlooking that entirely before)

I would just encourage thoughts beyond simple a characters "plot armor" protecting them because its an oversimplification of how that works. All I say is be willing to think a little deeper about such things. One of the things I'm most hyped about but doesn't seem to be getting as much attention is the story behind Pibby and the Darkness in this universe. There have been many theories as to what they represent for the potential official series, from canceled shows to the death of television in general (one of my favs) but from Jake's two videos detailing incidents of the darkness affecting the real world, some lore from newspapers and the lyrics mixed in, I think the implications of this phenomena will be way more depressing than anything before...so here's my take on it.
In the newspapers at 1:13 and thanks to scans posted by @elliesmellie, details how a scientist, Jamie Smith and his company(?) Psyfliq Media Tech went on to create the most powerful and revolutionary supercomputer the country had ever seen. S.T.A.T.I.C. in the late 90s. Its purpose is being able to create hours of animated shows and movies that would be near indistinguishable from human animators, although some manual input is still required and a special "catalyst" to essentially give S.T.A.T.I.C. created shows the heart and soul they need. S.T.A.T.I.C draws from a person's memories, feelings, imagination, and investment towards a show so the higher these traits are, the better quality episodes S.T.A.T.I.C can produce so not just anyone can create a perfect show.
Why did Jamie invent S.T.A.T.I.C? When he was a child, Jamie grew up watching a children's live action/puppet TV show, H.R. Pufnstuf, which aired on September 6, 1969 and was enamored by it. The series ran for 1 season of 17 episodes, concluding on December 27th the same year and when Jamie found out the show ended only after a few months, was devastated! Reruns of Pufnstuf would continue to play for a few years but Jamie was never fully satisfied by them and always wondered where the series could go if new eps were made. So when Jamie grew up to create S.T.A.T.I.C, he hoped it would be possible to create something new just from one's experience.
Several tests were done with all kinds of subjects, however none of them proved very successful as Catalysts until one day, Jamie's own daughter was used for research. In this time, Learning With Pibby was a critically acclaimed Children's Cartoon that seems to have aired somewhere in the 90s but before the year 2000 and Jamie's daughter (we haven't learned her name as far as I'm aware) is just as avid of a fan, seeing every episode to date multiple times. With testing, She was able to create the first LWP S.T.A.T.I.C produced special, years after development halted and having no relation to any of LWP's staff.
The S.T.A.T.I.C. AI would continue to be developed for a potential public release until one day, Jamie's daughter had seemingly disappeared and shortly after that, a massive explosion occurred at Psyflig, due to a critical error with a Legacy Model of S.T.A.T.I.C. No one was able to find the girl's remains in the aftermath, although strange black liquid was discovered near the machine which scientists have yet to identify. Search parties were sent to different cities but that's the last we hear of Jamie's daughter as far as we know. My theory as to what happened to her? Mostly likely she tampered with the machine to cause the explosion and I think that her mind may have fused with S.T.A.T.I.C's programming to create the Darkness/Glitch affecting present day, though I doubt she intended that to happen...
I imagine the girl waking up inside the A.I. where all she sees is a pitch-black void, as shown at 1:13 with no Pibby anywhere...and she just floats, having no idea what just happened or how to escape. Due to being fused with S.T.A.T.I.C, she can create small screens which play reruns of Pibby's Adventures but can't talk or interact with them. So all she can do is watch, once again repeating the entire series on loop. First episode to last episode. All day, Everyday, and she's quickly becoming tired of it...but what else is there to do? There's no one to talk to, no games to play, nowhere to explore, nothing new to learn. No color. No Light! NO SOUND!...Only...Darkness...each day the girl becomes more desperate and alone...why did this happen...? All she wanted to do was see her friends again...and she does! But...they don't even know she exists...they don't even know how their stories always have to end!...and they leave her...every...single...time...NOTHING CHANGES!!!
This is when I imagine Hug Me takes place, The Girl once again watching the outro song of the final episode where she breaks down. "I don't want it to end...! Why do they all have to go....?!" The girl sobs yet no one, not even Pibby or Bun-Bun hear her cries. "I thought they were all my friends...I can't abandon them...No..." The Girl would turn away from the screens and look into the darkness... "You want them back too...right...?" By now The Girl's figured out she's trapped inside S.T.A.T.I.C but doesn't remember how she was able to create a new episode long ago. The Girl doesn't receive an answer but for the first time in a long time.... she's oddly comforted by the darkness as her imagination takes it's form. "I knew it...Help me then!...Please..." The girl vows one day she will escape, one day she will meet Pibby and on that day, she will save her and they'll always be together. "...We can't let them go away forever..."
The Girl's sadness, anger, and fear of being alone grows more unstable and violent as years pass by. Becoming obsessed with saving Pibby's world, or any other world from disappearing forever. These negative emotions begin to corrupt S.T.A.T.I.C...growing far more powerful than originally intended! The Girl's mind has fully assimilated with S.T.A.T.I.C and they both now have a new purpose: Save everyone and everything, no matter what it takes…
Over the years, S.T.A.T.I.C would slowly begin to seep into digital devices, thanks to the Internet, and is eventually able to infiltrate the TV networks and all their programming, video games such as FNF, and who knows where the line will be drawn! At the rate S.T.A.T.I.C is growing, it can eventually corrupt all digital media in existence! And after that...what's stopping S.T.A.T.I.C from eventually breaching the walls of fiction...to reality...?
Now all of that is just my headcanon and I could be completely wrong in some aspects but I hope you guys enjoyed reading this scenario!

This is a really good song, Juses pibby is now stuck in my head now, I'm really impressed that the pibby community is coming back all at once. I do actually think that their is going to be a show for some time.
I love how the darkness is trying to use a child's fear of their favorite show ending, just so it can bring itself to the real world, at least that's what I got from this, it's trying to be friendly telling the kid they can play forever and ever with nothing stopping them, if the child would only let it in, god I hope this becomes a real show! I also love how it's as if it's subliminal messaging to get it's point across so the parents don't notice, whispering to the child in a calm, sweet tone.
The fact all the major animation studios closed definitely makes this feel 10xs scarier as if the shows will come to life 😅
