    About Youngsang Cho
    Youngsang Cho is Organic Farmer. Cho learned Natural Farming from his father Hankyu Cho(Korea Natural Farming, KNF) who advocated environmental agriculture since the 1960s. Cho family has been organic farming for the third generation. Cho served in 706 special forces and graduated from Aju University (Bachelor, Chemistry) and Chungnam National Uni (Master, Horticulture). Cho has entered the Ph.D. course from the Department of Agricultural Biology at Chonbuk National University. Cho started organic agriculture in 1989. Through decades of practice and research, he created a new Ultra-Low-Cost organic agriculture system based on his father's farming and Asian traditional farming. He founded “JADAM” in 1991. In 2022, JADAM's membership exceeded 80,000.

    The industry has a stranglehold on farmers here in Japan. I’ve been told so many times I have to use pesticide and chemical fertilizers. One farmer I used to work for came to visit my farm and said, “無理、無理、無理.” He doesn’t believe you can grow vegetables in a no-till, compost-fertilization-only system. He is a certified organic and sustainable farm, which tells me those certifications have no meaning. I’ve always thought nature has the best farmer to try to learn from. Thanks for putting the information on paper.

    I had small tree in my terrace garden, which died. So I took all it leaves and put in a pot. Within a month all the leaves decomposed into that pot. After sometime I had put watermelon seed in that pot, forgetting about the leaves. When I saw the watermelon plant growing so well, I recalled and realised the power of leaf!

    • @timothyblazer1749
      @timothyblazer1749 Před rokem +3

      @@JADAMORGANIC it is not difficult, but it is specific. The ancients grew hanging gardens.
      What you need is a boggy pond, full of nutrients. Fish, nematodes, shrimp etc in the water. They provide the primary nutrients. Second, your method of fermenting green material gets out more minerals and trace nutrients. In nature, this would be a gradual bank or deep mud, but your method is better for farming.
      Then, adding worm tea and compost tea. This increases minerals and organics as well.
      All of this is combined and used to fill a bunker with liquid. That bunker is aerated by whatever means you like. Then it is pumped into your system. You need to test the bunker liquid to make sure it isn't too powerful or too weak.
      You can test this out very cheaply with a small number of ebb and flow planters, if you have a pond available. Rivers and streams are too clean to use for this. If you don't have a pond, you could make a small one using small fish and etc plus plants just for this test.
      The nice thing is that with hydroponics, you can seriously conserve water, so its ideal for dry areas.
