  • Meet the 2023-24 REV DUO FTC Starter Bot! Using all REV DUO parts, the FTC Starter Bot is the culmination of analyzing the game, prototyping, and technical documentation. The 2023-24 REV DUO FTC Starter Bot is designed to give teams a starting point for building their robot, while leaving room for iteration, revision, and adaptation to the game’s challenges.

We have been working with 2 rookie teams and they have had success in building this robot so far and are excited to build upon it to make it their own!

Can't wait for our 3 rookie teams to get their REV kits! We've been using REV for a while and love how useful it is.

We like this approach this year. Especially like that it's not a mecanum which makes this an accessible approach for new teams who have the basic kit.

really love the intake design! i wonder if theres a way of modify the intake so the pixels can drop one at a time for more accurate placing.

I'm not a huge fan of instructions for bots, but looks like you've limited yourselves well to give teams tons of room for expansion. I hope people can learn more from making it their own, rather than just using the instructions as a crutch. But things like a higher lift, active intake, and omnidirectional drive hopefully give lots of opportunities for adoption.

Interesting design for this year's game!👏 We are interested in the concept of the intake system. How can we control both claws at different times?🤔 We think that it would be more efficient to place the pixels on the backdrop one at a time, so you don't take any risk related to the fact that they might get to an unwished spot.
    Good luck to everyone!! 😁✌🏻

Hey Rev Robotics, would it be possible to add mecanum wheels to the starter bot. Please and thank you

You can absolutely put mecanum wheels on this robot if you would like. With the starterbot program we limit ourselves to what is in the FTC Starter kit (which doesn't have mecanum wheels or the extra motors), you can take these plans and modify them however you would like. A good start would be to look at our www.revrobotics.com/rev-45-2470/ and then follow the same instructions for the rest of the robot ontop of that.

A rookie team we started and mentored last year added mecanum wheels to the starter robot last year and it worked really well. We anticipate after the new rookie team we started this year--who is also using the starter robot build guide--finishes the basic build, that they will want to add mecanum wheels this year too.

Is there a hanger subsystem on this design? I wonder if it could hang from the arm…

Odd. I was expecting an active intake from REV
