side note: i got a few comments telling me about how this isn't really 'techno's character' in dream smp, this is animatic is just an idea i had about if techno went absolutely crazy with no morals at all :D

thank you to everyone who watched this and loved this animatic. this wasn’t my best work but it was the one which truly had the biggest impact on me. I haven’t processed the news, really. I’m happy I was able to contribute at the time, and I hope to still continue and pay tribute to the pig man.

I love how you represented techno in this animatic, mostly how every insult in the song was being thrown at tommy since at the end of the day despite trying to help people tommy wasn't exactly a great person, and techno calls him out here
I'm sad that we won't get to see anymore techno content but, we can cherish what we got and continue to celebrate his life.

@vict_r I’m pretty sure he’s gone up against the sever more than once and won so I’ll agree with you on that. Even with strategy they still lost to him. But I’m still not sure about the Dream part, the last few wars he surrendered or was on his side so idk
Introverted Moon If it was Techno vs Dream without any outside elements or cheats (god apples, creative, totems) then Technoblade would be able to beat Dream simply because Techno prepares for every fight and he has the Rocket Launcher and a ridiculous amount of potions which make him immortal.
And even if you don’t consider the totem as cheating it’s still important in the lore as the server’s only Totem Of Undying which they need to revive Wilbur or Jschlatt.

Phil losing his wings after killing Wilbur is the best thing, fallen angel. There is so much thought put into the animatic I love it.
There was one animation, forgot which, one where it's basically the story of Phil joining the smp, and people joked he lost his wings because this server banned elytras

@@stellanocturne Philza is known primarily for his Hardcore series in which he spends nearly all of his time in an elytra, which he is extremely skilled with. This is translated to wings in fanart
@@stellanocturne I'm pretty sure it's because Ph1lza plays on hardcore mode for lengthy periods of time, amassing huge amounts of resources from both the nether and the end; His wings are probably his elytra skin, you can actually see he was wearing it when he died in season 2 of his Hardcore world (The one that lasted for 5 years, the interim having granted him the opportunity to meet his wife.)

Everyone’s talking like this portrays him way to negatively but it shows him as an executor of justice. This is exactly what he is, an agent of chaos who is able to suppress his urges if people don’t provoke him but kill those who betray him. The no soul is harsh yes but they can’t fit every lyric and all the time Techno has talked about how he hears voices demanding blood in his head and he’s a sociopath. You can’t change the lyrics to the song. However, I felt it was more representative of how he won’t hesitate to kill or torture people for personal gain if they cross him

This aged so well. Not only in the fact that this represents Techno's character so well but also some of the lines.
"Mark my words one day, you will pay, you will pay."
Techno and Wilbur may have done a bit of destruction but nothing like what Techno, Phil, and Dream did. They paid the price for trying to rebuild L'Manburg. Not only that but for hunting him down and trying to execute him.
"A wolf in sheep's clothing is more than a warning."
Techno may have dressed it up that he was retired, but the voices always demanded blood. And the voices were so loud, he couldn't drown them out. And just because he went into retirement doesn't mean that he wasn't capable of destruction.
"Tell me how you're sleeping easy, how you're only thinking of yourself."
This represents many things. Tommy only caring about his discs. Tubbo only caring about what's best for L'Manburg, and not think about Techno's pov. Also Tommy only using Techno to get his discs back, and not caring about being friends. Tommy was never going to hep Techno destroy L'Manburg, he was only there because he knew Techno was the only person who could defeat Dream. And going back in the story, Tommy and Tubbo only used Techno as a weapon. They didn't see him as a person, they saw him as 'The Blade.' Someone they could summon with a snap of a finger and force to fight for them.
"Telling all your lies like second nature."
The lie that they hunted Techno down because of what he did, when in actuality they just wanted Techno out of the equation.
"Karma's gonna come collect your debt."
The karma for hunting down Techno and threatening his horse. Techno had already stated very clearly that he was an anarchist, and that he would do anything to destroy a government. If anything, they all got off easy. Techno could have easily killed all of them, but he didn't. He let them watch the karma rain from the sky, in tnt form.
"You stalk your prey, with criminal mentality."
Even more referencing hunting Techno down. They did that for their own selfish gain. Tubbo kept it a secret for others. Tubbo knew what they were doing was wrong, and that they were technically criminals. Tubbo was doing the same thing Tommy was. Committing a crime without the people's consent. And Tommy got exiled for it. If Techno had been George, who knows what Dream would have done.
"Maybe you'll see, all the wrongs you did to me. And start all over, start all over again."
The wrongs being using Techno as a weapon, disregarding his feelings, and hunting him down. After Techno got his revenge for that by blowing up L'Manburg, he hasn't wanted anything to do with Tommy or Tubbo. Techno is a fair guy. He only starts fights to end wars. So if Tommy and Tubbo maybe leave him alone (give him his axe back) maybe then they could be a family again.

Yea no, that's basically saying '"If I could kill you I would, but you have to much goddamn plot armor." Like that's the only reason Tommy isn't dead on the floor right now.

The thing is, if you look at how it's animated, techno isn't the wolf in sheep clothing but rather the karma for all those who lied and tried to get power for themselves. I like it because at first you'd think that it's techno but really he's shown as the one who is enacting the violence as karma for the selfish actions of everyone else.

The problem is, what he was doing was right, but he wasnt doing that because he thought it was right. He was doing it to settle his score.
It's the opposite of the ends justify the means. He's using the fact that what he's doing is a good action to hide that all he wanted was revenge.

God there are so many good little details in this. Love how in the first verse with Techno's ruthless murder you're not sure if the song is about him, until you realize it it's from his perspective casting the judgment of the Blood God on everyone around him.
Love the red ties representing Techno's victims, the way Techno shreds the wanted poster at the start on beat, Schlatt's betrayal turning Techno of Tubbo, how it's treated that all of Techno's kills are "karma", the image of Tommy holding his discs up to save them only to get killed and for his blood to splatter on them to show his foolish attachment to them, Techno holding Tommy at swordpoint on "how you're only thinkin' 'bout yourself", Philza's clipped wings, and Techno spawning the withers on "burn in hell".
Also the bridge is amazing, showing L'Manburg back when it was just place for men to emancipated and Techno enjoying farming there, only to come back to the present and show Techno's disgust at hoe it always was a government. Beautiful animation!

I truly love the part when technoblade pointed his sword at tommy and the song’s lyrics were “how are you only thinking about yourself” and show how much blood were spilled just because of discs. Then tubbo who was at back of tommy looks at tommy with this expression that kinda looks like he’s agreeing to what techno is saying, because as we know tubbo exiled tommy because of Tommy’s selfishness. Techno went against his teams morals no matter how many times he says he hated government if he never sided with them then yeah that’s not betrayal but since he did that make what he did by definition an act of betrayal. Wilbur was the main cause of it though in my opinion.

I love how at 2:12 the picture is split in half, because Wilbur and Techno both betrayed everyone, and with Phil looking like he’s trying to comfort Tommy. I think that was a really cool detail!
I personally love that you showed Tubbo as like, more mature-looking, most draw him like a little smaller that tommy and more cuter facial features, just saying amazing work! (By cuter I mean like big eyes and more soft)

0:23 Nikki looks shocked, so the blood must've splattered on her, she has no power over where the blood was coming from. Fundy and Quackity are more standoffish. They either had a hand on the blood splattering, let it happen, or are passively frowning upon it.

0:33 I'm guessing this was after the Quackity vs Techno fight, but I can't be sure if it was the iconic "toothpick" one since techno was holding a sword.
0:35 i really like it when animatic use limited colors, and still choose to color tubbo's tie red. It reminds me of how bloody being the president, or the mere association to the title, is, dsmp-wise. It also reminds me of authority, one which all the presidents had abused. the same power and authority that tubbo, ignorant of true right and wrong, ended up not using well.

Even with almost 400000 views, I think that this animation deserves more attention. The animation is POGCHAMP and song fits technoblade so well, and there is even a degree of storytelling about the dream smp events, which are also surprisingly specific and accurate. I think this is not really easy with a song that is not custom written to suit the animation. You thought of using the song, fit the animation to the lyrics to the actual dream smp events beautifully, and as a bonus even predicted some of the dream smp events that would happen! I love this animatic, it might have become my favorite animatic now.
