- In today's video I went to the KAWAII MONSTER CAFE in HARAJUKU! I've seen amazing photos of this place so I've always wanted to go and see for myself! The place is crazy colourful and so is the food!

i am going to japan in august and i would really like to go to this bubbly and colorful cafe with my daughter who will be 1.5 years old then.
if anyone has some cool tips on what to do with my little lady, that would be great.

( we will be in japan for 4 weeks
I'm so thankful for your videos even though I'm so jealous! I can neither go to Japan nor eat any of those food there because of lactose and gluten and I'm not 100% good with soy either way. T_T
But nonetheless I SO love to watch your videos of all the cool things you can go and do there.

I just went there the other day as well, probably just a few days before you guys.
But what I'm shocked about is that the prices seem to be cheaper for you! We also didn't get to see such an awesome menu. We got a normal paper menu without any photos and everything was just sooooo expensive.
Maybe it's because we went in the evening? :(
+zoomingjapan maybe it depends on where you sit in the café. I've seen 3 different menus in different videos now. But I DO think it's expensive. The ice cream parfait is 2300 Yen, which is nearly 20$ and the pasta is 10$. That's much but I guess for the experience it's worth it. You don't go there every day and I would rather go to the Kawaii Monster Café than a maid or cat café but that's just my personal likeness.
What I'm wondering is: Doesn't the staff in costumes sound pretty manly to be girls? Maybe they are boys. Which is of course okay! Especially in Japan where crossdressing seems common but it just confused me. XD (cute girl in cute costume and suddenly deep man voice)
+Kristina Emilius I see, that could be. Depending on the are the entrance fee was different, so maybe they're trying to make up for it by offering a more expensive menu to the "cheaper seats"?! :/
The ones dressed up were all male when I was there. The waitresses were all female, though. ;)
+zoomingjapan Oh really? Wow I had no idea >< The staff knew we were youtubers when we arrived since we met the PR manager at an event and she asked us to come to the cafe, so maybe they purposely gave us a nice seat? But no idea haha

Is this café 21+ since their alcohool... Wish drinking age was the same everywhere since in Canada you can start drinking at 18.
I don't think so. A lot of places serve alcohol but you don't have to be 21+ or 18+ to eat there

+MyLittleAsianWorld You can survive in Japan with no Japanese but it will be a bit difficult to get around. Though I've had a lot of friends survive here with no Japanese and they had a great time!
