    Really a complete overview of your planning and completing the new table, Sean. Looking at it, I would never have guessed that you're not a fan of structure construction. Everything is so clean and neat. Really impressive. Thanks for sharing this update.

    Hi Sean, that is one of the best videos I have ever seen. You did a fantastic job building your layout. I was very impressed with all of the wiring and how clean you ran the wires underneath the layout had around the layout. I'm curious as to what you do for a living and what state do you live in. Also you made reference to the layout upstairs and I always thought that you had that other layout in your basement. I just thought that you probably lived in the east and most homes in the east have a downstairs basement that can be converted into a large custom railroad layout. I just want to thank you for sharing that video with everyone because it helps all of us to see this great work that you are doing and how talented you really are. Love your trains and I really like your videos. I like it when you are explaining how you did everything step by step. I think you are way ahead of everybody else and I really appreciate you sharing your videos with us. Thanks again for taking the time to share with all of us what model railroading is all about and taking it to the next level. You are a very talented and intelligent person. Thanks Sean. Happy New Year to you and your family.

      Thanks for the nice comments! Yeah, the O gauge layout is in the basement, but the first Standard Gauge one was upstairs. This one is on the main floor now. I switched rooms to get a bigger space for the Standard Gauge Trains.

    Adds to the decor, more like a piece of furniture, tinplate legends John pisano had a custom build from Clark Dunham Studios, yours is going to be on that grade . No to like bench you sure do a good job.

    At a train show I got a suitcase full of standard gauge track for $20. I opened it up and it was so expertly packed I knew I could not get it all back in there but I could see some switches and a Crossing. They have train shows again I will go back on the hunt get some more Rolling Stock and maybe some structures to go along with it. Don't you just love trains that are on their way to their second century?

    Sean I am really loving your channel. So glad I found you on CZcams. I am learning so much from you. I have been going O gauge for several years and have really started getting interested in Standard Tinplate trains. I have a few issues I need to figure out before I make the plunge. The first one being space. The area I use for my O gauge is 8'x12' but I am not utilizing the whole area just 4'x8' of it. My layouts are also temporary for certain holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and Easter. I could use this area for Standard but I would need to build out a platform. Something like yours would be awesome. Can you provide me the info. on the company you used? I am considering running the O and Standard on the same layout. Any thoughts on that idea? Good or bad? I have an opportunity to buy the Blue Comet set just like yours and am giving it serious thoughts. It is big money but would be my prize set.

    That's some great workmanship there Sean! Well done, it's gorgeous. I've got a question and an observation.
    Question: I see the back of your layout's right up against the wall. In case of a derailment on the far side or if you want to take trains off the over-the-layout wall shelving are you planning on walking on the layout itself? It certainly looks strong enough!
    The observation: I'd put a door on the entry to the underside of the layout. As it is it looks like the layout's splitting the heating/AC vent on the floor. That being the case half the room heat and half the AC's going to go under the layout where it won't do you any good.
    Anyway, an interesting presentation! Looking forward to the next installment!

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před rokem

      Yeah, I will just walk on it. If I did it any other way, I'd lose too much real estate I need for all the accessories. The room has multiple vents so that is only one of a few and the grate fins point it in both directions. Plus, there is a gap between the layout and wall.

      @@seanstraindepot Thanks for the response Sean! I've got a plain 4x8 up against the wall layout myself, but in case of out-of-reach derailments I've got one of those extended reach "gripper" poles to pick up the cars and deal with the carnage. Since I do O Gauge I can get away with it. I sure wouldn't work with Standard Gauge!

    Sean....it looks great. Neat, organized, bright, and a pleasure to look at....just like your O gauge train room. Was there anything extra to do for your electrical power to the room ? Thanks ✌

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před rokem +1

      The room has lots of outlets on 2 separate circuits since it’s meant to be a small family room, so I didn’t have to add anything.

    Hello Sean. What carpet are you using on the floor? Also for your O gauge layout what track bed did you use?

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před rokem +1

      They are from a Company called FLOR. I used fastrack on my O gauge so that has built in roadbed.

    Looks amazing. Also, I see you have the orange Lionel corp 400e, which is one of my favorite schemes for this engine. Is it the ps2 or the later ps3 version? We’d love to see it run! I was planning on getting one as my first std gauge engine, but then I found the Lionel corp cream blue orange 400e and liked it a bit better.
