Honestly I have one myself . Orlando Florida . Best of the best ! Technology, comfort , ABS , super fast & it’s just an eye catching machine most ppl who ride never knew they made a bmw scooter . & best of the best BMW BABY
And is not a blinko or how they call.
Is A BMW 😎🤜🤛safe ride take care
I waiting for a 2025 c400GT 😎😎
You know Kymco makes there engines right.... Process that for a second..... MIND BLOWN!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
@@AMDGuy88 Loncin factory makes the engine which also makes engines for Kymco and Voge among others. Voge has released the SR4 Max which is essentialy a 400GT with all the extras for 6.000 euro. BMW offers the most expensive scooter while using a chinese made engine and having to pay extra for keyless/display/led lights etc...i went to the dealr for the 400x and left pissed with what they offer. Got a Honda ADV 350 instead.
I had about 20 bikes and scoots.
All range.
Scoots like piaggio medley, kymco downtown 350, piaggio x9, honda x adv and i test rode many other. Including forza 750, forza 350, piaggio beverly 300 and 400, voge sr4 etc, honda sh.
Motorcycles like bmw f850gs adv and others.
Now i own a 2022 c 400 gt.
Bought it slightly used with 5500 km on it and it was used for one and half year before.
First of all, even if you hear about being something like lets say, relatives with voge sr4 max, well... Nope! Bmw ride quality etc is absolutely obvious when you ride both.
So the price difference between them is absolutely logical.
What i can say is that, for me, i am very satisfied with it, ranking it to my top bikes.
I live in athens greece, i move in big roads every day and its a joy!! Plush to its best.
But i know its a scoot, so i dont expect to go to really bad roads and dont feel a thing...
Also great looks!!
For me is top!
The truth is that its expensive, so thats why i bought it slightly used and from 9500euros i payed something like 7000
Wasn t the Xadv one of your favorites ?i had many scoots and maxi scoote and motorcycles, but the best one was definitely was the Xadv?don t you share the same opinion about your bikes?
@@nizaragardouh3035 x adv is a good bike, but i dont top list it.
Its a mater of preferences.
The bikes i loved most were bmw f850gs adv, bmw f750 gs and my harley davidson (not for its tech of course).
From the scoots, piaggio x9, piaggio medley 125 and bmw c 400 x are my top list.
X adv is good, but its the bike that i kept the shortest time.
All bikes have pros and cons.
I think its subjective for everyone
Wonderful, thorough review! I appreciate your honesty too. That is a really cool looking scooter though. I am looking at this and a used Burgman 400 for my first bike at 69 years old. Fuel economy and FUN !
Great review. Excellent camera work, you conveyed the agility so well. Good job 👍
Thank you so much for the video. Really helped me try to figure out which scooter to get.
Thanks for video I would prefer the Honda Forza 350, great quality and much cheaper. 👍
In fact, the price is really high, but there is value in those three letters of the brand
I used to have a Forza 300. It is undoubtedly a great scoot. But I have had the BMW C400GT from new 17 months ago and I do prefer it. I went for the analogue dash rather than the more expensive digital as I didn't feel the need for the connectivity. I use my mobile on a Quad Lock holder as my sat nav connected to my headset. I haven't had any issues at all on my C400GT; it's just a brilliant scoot. Feels light and flickable on the move, slow speed manners are impeccable with more than enough pick up and go. It is expensive compared to the competition no doubt, but a price worth paying in my personal experience.
Manufactured for BMW by Kymco of Taiwan which is a very experienced Scooter company. The Kymco "version" of this is an Xciting S 400i, so far as I can determine.
I'm just considering buying a used one for 6100€ with one year of warranty left and less than 6000km on the clock. It's fully equiped with all the options so it's really not worth buying it new.
The only thing that I’m very sad about BMW C400GT is the under seat storage that doesn’t match with the price tag. It’s just simply too expensive. Suzuki Burgman 400 is my personal choice in this segment.
nice review - it is good to see these get more attention as I think they are overlooked alot of the time - can you share what brand the crash bars are please?
I did not see that in any of your reviews of this model or even on Shad and such pages. Is there actually an option for side bags on BMW C 400 GT / X line? Top case is for sure, but side paniers? Especially as underseat storage is joke?
Hi,could you maybe do a review on the Zontes 350E ?
I’m in Australia and just had the 10k service with BMW for A$511……..
Apparently the 20k is even more.
I love ❤the bike just not the service costs.
Come tutti i prodotti Tedeschi ha alta qualità ma lo paghi di più... Una scelta individuale, certo BMW è una garanzia di qualità👍
When it is hot at a light stop the sound of the exhaust is like a Vietnam Bell helicopter 😊
Thanks for the review. Can you tell me who makes the windshield you have on the C400GT? Thanks!
Did you manage to resolve the snaring sound? The ws wasn’t able to identify the issue. thanks
Yes, it comes from the rear shocks when you have the original luggage rack mounted, this creates some kind of vibration sounds at around 5300 rpm.
is there any other brand with heating seat and heating grip?
i was thinking in getting a suzuki burgman 650 but they don't have those things
There is the Voge SR4 350 Smart, same technology than the BMW and heated seat and grip
Nice review, very informative. Any update from BMW about the cause of noise you mentioned?
The ratteling noise comes from the shock absorbers and appears only if you have the original luggage rack mounted. No solution to fix this.
the video productions is outstanding the audio needs some improvement I think if you do voice over later it will sound better.
what cameras did you use?
@ mark stones can you tell me if you can install heated seats on the Xmas? Why do you say it’s better than the C400? The 2023 are on good deals
You can install a heated seat on any scooter, but it has to be done by a saddler and is quite expensive.
I wonder what current the USB phone charger can provide.
Hi Marc, thank you for the great informative videos you produce. I had the rattle it sound on my bike at a certain rpm, I noticed when the vibrations were the greatest. I found out that it was just the back license plate vibrating against the license base plate. All I did was put double sided tape and the problem was solved, I hope this is your case, take care and thank you. From Hamilton , Canada
Hi Hamilton, thanks for your feedback 👍🏻 In my case it was the rear shock absorber which makes some vibration noise at around 5300 rpm. Cheers Marc
nice bike!
Thanks for the video. I don't understand, you find the BMW too expensive but did buy it anyway?
I think I would have bought the Forza 350 with 5 years of warranty (at least where I live) although I like the looks of the BMW better.
Nice review. Informative and unbiased. Cheers. I’m heavily considering the 2024 Xmax 300 Tech Max right now, but am a bit worried it may be under powered for light (overnight trip) touring.
By the way, what helmet are you wearing in this video? The visibility out of that thing looks huge! Maybe it’s just a bit of fish-eye lens effect from your camera, but I really like this helmet!
The helmet is made by Nexx. I had a Yamaha Tmax 300 a few years ago, it's a good touring scooter
Xmax 300 faster than this bmw as i heard. Is that true. Top speed on mine xmax gen 2 is 150 kmh
Agradeço pela avaliação completa.
Amazing review Marc.
Can you please give me your professional opinion on Honda Adv 350 vs CG400 gt? Now when Honda came up with new colors for 2024, I am not sure anymore which one of these 2 to buy. Thanks a lot!
It depends if your seating position is good on the Honda. If you feel comfortable then go for the ADV. Perfect quality, better storage and way better price.
@@Marc.StonesDo you think that the seating position on the c400gt is better for taller people or...?
Thanks for the rough road comment, very relevant to my situation. What scoot do you think is best for rough roads?
I think BMW can do better with the underseat storage and the mirrors and the softness of the red taillight. Also make it la little lighter.
Hello nice review of the bike.
Where did you buy this crash guard?
Can you send me the link.
Thanks
Hi, you can find them at www.wunderlich.de/wunderlich-systemschutzbuegel-m41331-002
Have your Dealer figured out what was the rattling sound at 5.200 rpm yet?
I think it comes from the center stand spring or side stand spring... i also have an annoying sound coming from the LCD/ Dash...
Despite these annoying noises and the small storage capacity, all the rest is greater than the other 350 scooters, i had to swap a new Forza 350 with only 4 months since new, with a used C400 GT with 8 months, because the Forza made me back pain, and had not a good driving position.
So far i'm very satisfied with my C400GT.
You are right the seating position is the most comfortable in the 350 range.
The rattling noise comes from the rear shocks, it only appears if you have mounted the original luggage rack. There is no solution to fix it.
If you have a noise behind the dash you can put some foam behind the plastic cover on the backside of the dash.
There’s no adv350 in Australia, this or the x-max?
I would go for the X Max, I had one 3 years ago, great scooter for the price
The 360 camera provides a really excellent video. (I have one too!)
Hallo aus Falkensee! nun habe ich mir auch neu ein gekauft bei BMW zum nice Preis
Ah nice, 9.5K Euros! I paid almost 13K for mine here - still worth it 😅.
Hi Marc. The fact this is your 3rd C400GT it obviously works for your personally (Yes, I realise one was written off). Did you try adjusting the rear shock settings if it makes any difference to the noise issue?
Hi Paul, I installed YSS shock absorbers and the noise issue is gone. Sadly they do not have a TÜV permit in Germany, so it will be expensive to get a individual permit.
@@Marc.Stones Thanks for the update. I'm happy enough with stock myself, haven't really had any issues with ride quality. Not sure I'd recognise it if I did! I'm surprised YSS do not have a TUV permit though.
Yss, which model did you install? I use Voge SR4 Max. There is a resonance and knocking feeling in the rear, especially at low speeds and low revs.
Hallo, ich bin auf der Suche nach Forza und Xmax 2nd Hand, ihre Preise sind fast die gleichen. Meine Frage ist, welcher ist bei gleichem Preis vorzuziehen 😀 !?
I have the same rattling noise. Bought it new, have about 4000 kms in it.
I think it comes from the rear right shock absorber. The springs seem to be quite loose and start vibrating
Mine makes that sound too. I think it comes from either the side stamd springs or from the center stand springs.
I have also other noise that comes from the LCD frame, but not as annoying as that metal noise at 5.200 rpm....
I'll take kymco AK 550 with its nice twin cylinder with more power
I had same noise, bmw couldnt fix it. Also had locking fuel cap fail, rotary controller fail, mode selector button fail, seat difficult to close. That was on a 2022 model. Bmw too busy fixing backlog of GS recalls to care. Had a bmw rninet and load of issues with that. Bmw is bottom of the reliability table, my ducati, enfield, triumph, all more reliable, never buying bmw again. Be warned if thinking about one.
That was tough luck mysterybiker. I had a 2016 RnineT Sport and now have a C400GT from new for 17 months. Have to say, I have never had a single issue on either BMW.
Perhaps the Honda adv 750 after all was a better choise for you? 😊
سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان الله العظيم استغفرالله♥️الحمدلله
?, what has happened to the bmw c400gt uploads, haven't seen much lately. You were my inspiration to purchase mine ,very informative videos that influenced my decision. Have you fallen out of favor with th c400gt?
Hi, I sold mine a few months ago, I was not satisfied with BMW's service and I had some vibration problems which could not be solved.
@Marc.Stones wow, sorry to hear that. Anything new on the horizon, I enjoy your videos.
Nice overall as far as reviews, excellent camera work. But why would anyone want Chinese "ripped-off" tech. goods over German, Italian, Japanese or American. Anybody but Chinese, please. Your accent sounds Teutonic, why peddle Chinese?
Great second hand scoot. Impossible to justify as a new purchase
The Honda Forza 350 is much more reliable with a better price. Even it has a electrical windscreen, better mirrors.
I did a test ride with the Honda, very good scooter, but the seating position was not comfortable for me.
@@Marc.StonesThe seat, footrests and the steering don't make a good combination, looks like they cut investment when it came to ergonomics development/ study...
Despite that, the Honda 350 engine is absolutely great, no vibration and no noise!! And although less powerfull than the C400GT, the Forza 350 feels more responsive. I think it's because it's 30 Kg lighter than the BMW.
In Italy 8,5K , but Forza 350 is around 7,5K so i would deffinetly prefer the BMW
Lack of storage, expense and Chinese manufacture seem to be the downsides?
I would have got the forza 750 🤔
Nice scoot, but too expensive.
who cares about heated grips and lights in underseat compartment and stuff like that, at the end the most important thing is how it rides on bumpy roads
13:09 If I have the choice between built-in-China and built-in-Europe, i would pick Euro first even tho if it is more expensive. Those asian guys are working for free and its not my problem.
Are you a captain sir.
Thanks, I'll take the Forza 350 from Honda
YAMAHA XMAX IS THE WAY TO GO.
Manufactured for BMW by Kymco of Taiwan which is a very experienced Scooter company. The Kymco "version" of this is an Xciting S 400i, so far as I can determine.
No, the BMW C 400 GT is manufactured by Loncin in China, same as the VOGE SR4 350
I don’t recommend it.
I'll take the Piaggio BV400. More horsepower, lighter and nearly 4K less. Servicing the Piaggio is also a lot less. Vespa/Piaggio have been masking scooters for over 70 years a lot longer than BMW. Their scooters dominate the Europe market because of their price and reliability.
Great constructive review - i would opt for adv350 at a lesser price 3500 less much lighter to handle
Thanks Mark if i was questioning the honda or this as a choice im surely going for a adv350 after following your review and your recent trips ;)
Nice day mate
Thanks Adrian for your feedback. The ADV 350 is a great scooter, huge under seat storage and much cheaper. Cheers Marc
The heated seat in the BMW makes the difference, sorry for you😅 The handlebar of the Honda is badass instead.
@@Marc.Stones That’s a big factor the under storage. I own a new XMax. In saying that, that BMW scoot looks awesome. And I like, the idea it has twin breaks in front.
You pose a good point. The price difference is quite hefty compared to the XMax.
As you know the XMax can get 2 full size helmets and a jacket and gloves in. The yammy has an awesome engine.
Happy beleaguered new year from NZ.
@Marc.Stones Incidentally I got myself an ADV yesterday. If you want to come test ride to compare I'm in Munich. 🎉
