My Dad practically raised me on Louis L’amour's westerns, and I still have a good hundred of them. Shame folks don’t ride for the brand anymore

The legacy of the west is bloody and beautiful alot of ghosts still haunt us ,but the west helped us discover North America. From the United States to Canada and Mexico. Three young nations who had alot to learn. The cowboy was a poet a rebel and a promise of a new world. Today working class people are that promise and together we can rediscover the world just like the American, Canadian and Mexican cowboys

I own almost every Louis L'Amour book ever written...I got started him back when I was about 8 or 9 (I'm 44 now).I read them to my young daughters (6 years old and 9 months). The world needs more Louis L'Amour and less woke garbage.

My husband has every Louis L'Amour book ever written as well. He turned me on to them when we first started dating 7 years ago and I tell you, I became a fan as well. My husband's dad was such a fan that he named my husband after his favorite book by Louis, and that was Flint, but his dad spelled it Flynt to make it different.

Got a bunch of louis l'amour books from my grandparents as a teenager, and I was hooked. I have a whole bookshelf full of the adventures of the sacketts, chick bowdrie, and all the others. Truly quality writing that gave you great heroes to root for

The truth that riding for the brand was easy when you knew what the brand stood for. Now a days few brands that have a point of view just temporary positions.

      that's a hook right there!
      Have we Became our fathers'
the old men looking back to the days
where black and white and wrong and right seamed clearer than today
      Have we became our fathers,
      worrying about what's ahead,
when the ones we raise take over the place, we pay that'll still be there

Such a Canadian treasure Corb, you are up there with the greats. Merle, Waylon, Johnny and all the boys are smiling down on you. Keep the traditional country coming. Pure and honest.

That last line about a mother searching the skies for the time before meth hit our great western range is haunting. It's a good point--drugs have ruined so many lives here in Alberta. There was a time when the worst thing you had to worry about in a small town was a bar fight--no longer. Makes me wish I'd been born much, much earlier; better to have known that time and lost it than to have never known it at all.

This is by far one of the best songs I have ever heard. I pretty much like everything you do ole Corb. You are definitely in my top 10 song writers. My mom showed me Louis L'amour's books when I was a kid so this one makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I been a fan since I saw you at Doug Moreland's Calf Fry back in 2012. I was there, a cowboy on a date with a Goth Chick and you played "Gothest Girl I Can". Haha It was pretty good dude! Then I sang to her, Things are always better with some Goth Girls around". Yeah me and her aren't together anymore.........

Horses 'n Hats & Russians in pairs!! A Pinto, Palimino or Three stocking Mare, it didn't much matter all boot heels ain't square! Just get in the saddle and go on a tear!
Hey now Buddy, say look out there Slick, 'cause a big hat with no herd get's a dude run off quick.
Peace Maker, Walker, Hog Leg n' quirt, all are as well known as the pouch-tag on his shirt.
    Time to drink coffee and time to roll smoke, after rodeo where ya gots yer leg broke;
No Drs nor medcine, Boys that ain't no joke, broke down n' busted, Here, I'll light yer smoke!
Old Louis he taught us 'bout the code of the west and the heroes who ride back to give you their best,
Done taking a whippin' Hidin' down in a hole, to lick wounds and mend while the lord saved their soul.
Refreshed and reformed and resurrected in might they'd ride to Durango to take up the fight.
Fur the girl and the town and the good folks around, give yur memory a jog - t'was all for the Dog!!
Long Live Louis! Yes Louis La'mour his books brought to life a world I would prefer!!

I prefer Ned Little, who stood only for his kin, not Sacketts, but beautiful song/
