Absolutely. Not just that they deserve to be called the "best singers", but the chemistry between the whole group was wonderful!
But unfortunately they didn"t win the most important dutch contest called " the Avro Television Ring" the highest you can reach in the Netherlands. They were nominated but chateau Meiland won the ring. :-/

I've seen it said many times, but I'll repeat it. It is so so so nice to see a tv show of singers just singing for the love of singing. No contests, no competitions no votes or "judges". Just talent showing what they can do. 😍
Ironically it was The Netherlands who introduced the world also to a show called "The Voice", which worldwide provided lots of great singers. But this show is head and shoulders above that one.
@@monum 2 whole different concepts though. Beste Zangers works with mostly established singers, The Voice mostly tries to bring newcomers to the stage.

Emma knew exactly what she could do. Never tried to reach to Henk high note. She just hang around and smoothen everything. Henk did an amazing job carrying all the hard part while still held himself enough to let Emma shine. This is what duet all about. Carry each other to shine together.

American television should be ashamed of themselves, this is actual quality content, and I'm talking about the whole season, I am a Nightwish fan, this is what got me to watch this on youtube, but I appreciate the different styles and personalities, and I just love Henk, especially the best performance of the season with Floor, you know what song I'm talking about.

Vocally this is brilliant, but the best thing about this performance is the smile on Henk's face throughout the song. Love this.
Henk Port is not just an incredible singer. He is the prefect 24 carat gold setting to the diamond of the female voice. He sets up every second to show how good SHE sounds. And that's on top the band! Emma Heesters may have gone into this a 'CZcams singer', but I sure hope she has a good agent, cause the world is wating for her. And Henk ... fan for life. he's not a singer he's an Artist.

Floor definitely chose the more demanding song, but it wasn't 100% perfect because of it. She's just not an opera singer.
This song on the other hand was actually 100% perfect, which is why i like it actually a bit more. For me it was the best song of the episode.

@@d34d10ck I haven't heard an opera singer sing Phantom of the Opera yet it is a song from a musical...I know everyone points to Sarah Brightman's original version but she wasn't an opera singer either. Floor isn't as classically trained but I prefer the way she colours the song because of this. Her experience across so many genres creates interest that the straight singing of an opera singer most likely wouldn't. I love this rendition of this song as well but it is also not close to perfect technically but that doesn't make it any less beautiful to listen to.

Opvallend dat de twee duetten van "Ome Henk" het meeste indruk maakten. Een goede klassiek geschoolde stem maakt toch de meeste indruk!

Henk is adembenemend. Samen (henk en floor) zijn ze van een totaal andere planeet.
Hij had het niet kunnen doen zonder zijn duetpartners. Dit is de top van de Nederlandse zangkunst. Emma maakte zeker met deze performance ook een diepe indruk op mij. En Floor? Tja, die is sowieso niet van deze wereld. De beste metalzangeres ter wereld en de beste zanger van Nederland en omstreken. Muzikaal vuurwerk gegarandeerd.
Henk had het goed voor elkaar met die spetters van meiden!! Ouwe snoepert! 😜😜 Nee geintje, maar hij heeft het wel getroffen en Emma terecht gekozen, want het was een onvergetelijke performance!!!! ❤️❤️

Most attention goes to the duet of Floor with Henk (and it was epic) but this performance is also out of this world. What a gorgeous song and what a pleasant surprise that Emma can stand next to vocal beast Henk, hold her own and nail it. A really beautiful rendition.

For Emma to hold her own amongst vocal masters like Floor and Henk is truly incredible. Her voice is so beautiful, so colourful… full of light and shade. This duet is one of the best I’ve heard… ever. Henk really almost nurtured Emma through this. They complimented each other so well. Honestly, if people remove the bias of knowing that Emma mostly does covers on CZcams they’ll admit she’s amazing.
I think she more than held her own here. I mean, it's a duet with Henk Poort, a powerhouse of a performer, a pro in every sense of the word, and she nailed it.
So beautiful. Both singers were amazing and Emma just sings with such joy and happiness. It s always a gift to hear her wonderful interpretations in her songs.
I have no idea what they’re singing about. Never in my life (41 yrs) have I heard music like this and thought “I enjoy this, may I have some more?”. I found this show looking for Floor music and I’m blown away. This is beautiful. Even if they’re singing about burning a casserole in the oven I don’t care. No contest. No judging crap. No competition. Just incredibly talented artists sharing their skills with each other and letting the world enjoy as well. Bravo from Tennessee.

As a sidenote, i expected no less in the Phantom performace, but this one is my favourite of Henk's from the whole show. His voice is so versatile and so melodic it hits home. Emma sounds like a Disney princess as another commented, she's lovely and really talented though, i love how she slides through languages. And the band too. Thy're the real heroes of the show

Floris R. That’s what I meant, I’m Greek and our music tv programs are pre-constructed reality tv talent shows, not even close to this format. Music is a universal language, I for one, a lifetime metalhead, enjoyed this show so much more than any of our shitty shows, not because Floor was a part of it, but because truly talented people were made known to a broader public by not having to compete for a prize or for “bubblegum” recognition.
Very good cover, I'm honestly surprised, as an Italian I was half expecting some bad pronunciation and butchered words but it's almost perfect, one of the best covers I've seen.

Try to find the channel of Denise Hofs. She has most of the episodes up with English subtitles. And prepare to be blown away, as a lot of these songs are sooooo much better when you hear the backstory of them.

We love Italian singers/music in The Netherlands. Like Laura Pausini, Eros Ramazotti, Zucchero, Andrea Bocelli, etc. Dutch/Italian singer Marco Borsato covered many Italian songs but translated them into Dutch. His biggest hit 'Dromen zijn bedrog' is a cover of Riccardo Fogli's 'Storie di tutto i giorni'. It's to this day one of the most succesful Dutch singles of all time. And his most succesful single of his career. He also covered Riccardo Cocciante's 'Cervo a primavera' (his Dutch single 'Ik leef niet meer voor jou' and also 'Quando finisce un amore' (Dutch singe 'Waarom nou jij').
Grazie Italia for sharing your talents with the world. You have really amazing singers and songwriters! Let's not forget..you invented opera in the 16th century!

Dit was de mooiste aflevering ooit! Wat hierna is gemaakt valt in het niet!
Zo ik ben de tel kwijt geraakt...kan er geen genoeg van krijgen. Echt alles in dit nummer is absoluut top gezongen en ook door de backing band begeleid, maar er zit een magische extra laag in. De stemmen kleuren werkelijk fantastisch, wat een aanvulling qua timbre.
Heb vele uitvoeringen beluisterd, maar geen heeft die ongrijpbare perfecte mix tussen beide zangers.
De warme robuuste en doorleefde mannenstem en de betoverende delicate en heldere vrouwenstem.

I'm not usually into Emma's style of singing, but she did really well here. And Henk blew me away, just like he always does! What a spectacular performance!
As italian, i can say: the best italian pronunciation so far. Henk is a vocal god and Emma the sweetest voice, so the choice of "vivo per lei" was absolutely amazing for the duet. It was a really great show and performance. Amazing!

Some people here keep pushing the idea that because she's a cover artist, she's not special. Well, Pavarotti, Callas, Elvis and Ella didn't write their own material--they sang what others had written. So are they not great artists? Don't be stupid. Emma is just getting started. She has a voice like strawberries and cream, it's gorgeous and unique. Give her time...
I totally agree. I prefer a well sung cover over a so-so new song. All the classical music songs are covers, all aria's are covers. This duet is a cover, but I keep listening to it. The same with the duet: Phantom of the operA. There are so many covers in Jazz music.
But like Henk said: Good music is good music. If the performer lifes the music, there is a great arrangment and you sing it well, then it is very enjoyable.
Henk is at his usual best, but Emma.... Oh my... You were exceptional fantastic. Absolute perfection!!!

I just keep watching this. Can’t believe it. My definition of beautiful.
I’m half Canadian and half American. So hearing a couple languages isn’t so unusual for me. Here in the states. We never get to hear a vocalist sing in his/her native language. Absolutely wonderful to hear. Not to mention, Emma can sing incredibly in English, Italian, Dutch and probably Spanish as well. Folks teach your lil ones second languages.
Bravo X 100 to all this seasons singers. Henk, your on a different level. It makes me sad to know. Unless I win lotto (lol 🙄) I won’t ever get to see you preform live. I’m so hoping Nightwish visits Oregon or Washington State. Maybe I’ll get to witness Floor. I can’t imagine the sense-explosions they must bring to a live show.

As a Nightwish fan, I knew Floor would be great on this show, but HOLY SHIT EMMA has blown me away week after week!

So I ended up here because I'm a Nightwish fan (and Floor Jansen's of course) and I have to say you guys are amazing, I've loved this song since I was a child and I enjoyed your version so much! Henk has got the best Italian pronunciation I've heard at Beste Zangers so far!!! Good job! Gonna rewatch this again and again.
I mean, he is a trained and internationally known opera singer, who has won prices for at least 30 years now.
Even then, this was still (one of) the best performance I've heard of this
May I add that Emma’s pronounciation of the italian lyrics were even better then Henk’s... He ‘mumbled away’ some phrases where he forgot the text while Emma nailed it for the full 100% of her italian part! 😉

@ He is a better singer, but her pronounciation was better. Besides that, he managed to make her perform way beyond her normal capabilities (something of the Phantom must have rubbed off on him ;) ).

So I found this because Floor Jansen was on this show, I now listen to this just as much as I listen to Floor and Hank performing Phantom. Absolutely amazing 10/10 performance. Both Hank and Emma have incredible voices.

Every time I listen to this it just gets better and better.....Great pairing, and Emma has such a feel for the music, and her phrasing is superb.....WOW...what a splendid talent....Holland has no worries with singers like her about.....World Class!
