Is that the lyrics on the screen in front of them? Also interesting to see from the rear perspective how small the studio is. They are practically singing a few feet from a wall. It must be incredibly hard to give an engaging performance (which they definitely do) when your audience a wall a few feet in front of you.
It’s a home studio in my basement. I built it as a critical ‘listening’ and mixing room with a vocal booth at the back (the space behind the drums) but it ended up being a full band ‘all at once’ recording space🤷♂️
Yes we sometimes put up the lyrics because
1: we don’t want to get them wrong
2: gives us all cues on section changes
3: backing vocals need to also be correct
We shoot with an iPhone so not only is there a wall 3-4ft in front of us, you have to L👀k at a tiny camera lens.
It’s not easy BUT we have done it a few times and (hopefully) are getting the hang of it.
We can’t afford a pro space and use this studio cause….its all we have.

Thanks for the background on your studio and set-up, the sound from your basement is fantastic! From a viewer's perspective it definitely feels like you are on a stage performing for us, so it is amazing that you are able to project that energy while singing to a cellphone on a wall a few feet in front of you. Absolutely beautifully done. One of my favorite movies/soundtracks when I was growing up in the 80s, and still to this day. Her voice is so similar to Olivia, similar mannerisms and costume design. The whole band is fantastic (I even see a jeff lynne!), the backup singer also has a beautiful voice. As a musician myself, I REALLY love this. Thanks for such a great performance.
