- Back again for one more very bright very edited time. Same spiel: I basically cut to the frame for every shot of Crowley in these scenes (with a bit of extra Aziraphale in a few places for Reasons) that were included. Leaving things more complete gets the video blocked for copyright, alas (there were a few tries). I figure that works fine since this is a closer look at what exists in full in official places anyway. Also, a lot of stuff in the last two eps is particularly dark, but I got stuff as clear as I could manage. I hope y’all enjoy!

Okay firstly disclaimer: definitely not a flex, but I have genuinely always thought that everyone else is just like, idk, controlling their brows intentionally and not moving them that much? Like are you all actually UNABLE to move your brows ti the extent of like e.g. David? Because I literally can have entire conversations with just my brows like literally just like david and okay I am shooketh

I think it's because him taking off his glasses wasn't really scripted, it just happened. So they needed to make sure he had the snake eyes when he did take them off

Recently watched a video about how they make those contacts for movie. The actors report that having them in helps them to get in character, so that may compensate the discomfort. They have Crowley's contacts there as well.

David Tennant isn't even English. He's natural accent is thick Scottish. It's impressive that he can talk in an English accent consistently, but he has been doing it for years in Casanova and Doctor Who so i guess he's used to it.
David seems to blink much more when it's supposed to be Aziraphale. The rest of the time he said he tried to stare as much as possible cuz snakes have no eyelids. But those scenes wouldn't have been him, so blink away!

I'm pretty sure that was the intention. There are several earlier references to what happens when just the body is destroyed, which they call being discorporated. Discorporation is treated as an inconvenience/annoyance that involves paperwork. But when Crowley was in the burning bookshop, he screams "somebody *killed* my best friend," instead of "discorporated." That plus his anger and heartbreak at the realization. Not to mention his reaction when Aziraphale appears in the pub. He clearly wasn't expecting to ever see him again, and when Aziraphale says he was "discorporated," Crowley grimaces, which is a much less intense reaction because he knows Aziraphale can come back from that. Crowley clearly thought Aziraphale has been completely destroyed.

I also thought they were immune (to some degree) to hellfire and holy water respectively, because they weren’t angelic/demonic enough anymore, having been affected by each other and by Earthly life for so long... the switch was genius and the acting on it brilliant, but that misinterpretation of mine will always have a special place in my Good Omens-loving heart :,)

I thought that he knew that Crowley was talking about him. For me it was like "oh, he lost *me. I'M the best friend he's talking about, and he's so heart broken to find out that I was gone" so it was a moment of realization of how important he actually is to Crowley. And it must have felt awkward for him so all he said was "so sorry to hear you lost your best friend *ahem mE but uh listen-"
He thought that because before he was discorporated, he called Crowley to tell him about the antichrist and Crowley said that he is talking to a friend right now and will call him later

Honestly, on one hand, I'm kind of glad that the trial scene couldn't be brightened enough to show his eyes, cause when you really stop and think about it, knowing how expressive his eyes are behind those lenses, you just KNOW that even though he looks mildly ô_ô as he watched the little dragon balloon man melt, the fact that Aziraphale was basically seeing what would have happened to Crowley if his worst fears had been realized meant that his expression was probably more along the lines of ÓAÒ, and that would have HUUUURT!
On the OTHER hand, GIVE ME THAT SWEET, SWEET ANGST!

It's so impressive that he's able to convey so much emotion with just his eyebrows as his eyes are usually covered (even though he is expressive underneath them clearly) but most people don't look that closely and evidently sometimes it's very hard to see
David is also pretty much also always wearing contacts to give him the Crowley snake eyes and is pretty much acting while practically blind.

Just adorable how Neil really confirmed that they swaped bodies on Crowley's place. That's why when we first saw crowley (after the bus scene) he was wearing tartan collar. And decided not to drive bentley. And he really do smiled at ice cream vendor (which is not crowley usually do)
And the tickety boo got me on this, It was aziraphale all along
It's also why they were asking each other about the Bently and the Bookshop when they were getting the ice cream. It was actually just them trying to make sure their own stuff was okay, but phrased as if they were asking if the other's stuff was okay.

It's funny that even after a year I still discover something that I wasn't aware of. In the ice cream scene when Aziraphale asks "How is the car?" in a thretening tone, it's really Crowley inshuring himself that everything is ok with it.
I love how I now realize they switched before meeting up for ice cream, but they also clearly stayed together probs at Crowley’s apartment or at a hotel for safety, since Azir had no where else to go~
These videos have also made me aware of how incredibly tight Crowley's trousers are. With the brightness increased like this, you can see every wrinkle.

I was particularly looking forward to that scene as well, it's such an amazingly heartbreaking scene, and this did definitely not disappoint. Did they really give him lighter lenses though? Is that mentioned anywhere? Because damn I'd love to read/hear more about that, I always thought it was because they'd let the lighting catch behind them more so you could see, especially in the latter part where he has them a bit further down his nose than usual.
@@spiritmuse I'm sure I heard that Douglas Mackinnon showed the pub sunglasses and compared them to the usual lenses. Sadly I've not seen where he did this.
You can tell they're lighter in that scene, you can practically see his eyes as if he weren't wearing them for a lot of it. I think there were photos of the two different tints of lenses they used a while back, somewhere. Probably in tumblr.

I'm guessing that, for the sanity of the CGI team, the lenses aren't actually that dark. They're light enough to allow the graphics team to add in and widen the eyes, then add a masking layer to darken the frames, and do this when they're trying to save budget too.
I'm pretty positive there's at least one place where I noticed a really heavy masking thing (or whatever the terminology is because idk) over the lenses that didn't budge no matter how much things lightened-this bit: czcams.com/video/OuWhyXxRgzQ/video.html
