I picked up one in a tobacco burst 2 weeks old fir $80 a guy bought and didnt like. After a proper set up i was amazed how it played and the low action i could achieve with no buzzes. But the kicker was, it has the BEST glassy smooth clean tones! Best of any guitar i own! Some 10× the price.
I love it.
Ooh nice score for 80 bucks, I was tempted by the tobacco burst also. Being ceramic pickups you will always get that same tone 👌
I have the Sonic Strat hardtail in red. I'm very impressed by the overall fit and finish of the guitar and it sounds pretty good too.
It's a decent Mustang 🎸👌
Does the strat also have such thin body?
I like the color of this Mustang Rob. Glad you opened it up to look inside the cavities. The pups sound good, i like ceramic. Service the fretboard/frets and put 10s on it and it'll rock 🎸
Few little tweaks and mods she will be good to go 🤘
I like the new hair colour. The salon did an excellent job. Makes you look more mature and believable. It's a good image for you. Love the review of the Mustang. These are nice guitars with a bit of fettling.
The fuck? 🤣🤣 They're great guitars 😁
Just got one in pink and I love it. 💓🎸.great for blues in neck position.
Very nice!
Nice to see one of your reviews
Thanks dude 😎👌
ive got one mustang and to me its all grunge its a single purpose guitar and thats grunge and i love grunge
Welcome back!
Thanks dude 😎
My grandma used to have the same dog shaped cookie jar 😅 Greetings fron Canary Islands.
Love me a bit of retro, ooh love the Canary Islands been there a lot over the last 30 plus years.
Nice Mustang, and its good to see Squier give us some more options at the Bullet/Sonic price point. I agree about the pickups, they sound harsh, but maybe they can be helped out a bit with some wiring upgrades or EQ'ing. The pots look the exact same as the most recent Bullet Mustang HH's before they released the Sonic series. It would also be nice to see a few more colors for the single coil Mustang. Its on my wish list either way!
A few choice mods these guitars can sound killer 👌
They actually sound pretty good with an amp on the edge of break up. Good for indie tones and even some hendrixy solos.
Great review.
Thanks 😎
I GOT THE BROWN SUNBURST ONE .IVE GOT TO SAY IVE HADE REAL FENDER TELES ,AND THIS TO ME IS ALMOST AS GOOD ,FOR $200 COME ON ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY
i feel like the offsets all look better in really bright colours that red looks amazing
They really do 💯👌
@@theguitarmanifesto it’s good your back mate all the best
Thank you very much 😊
I have the Squire Bullet Mustang HH that I like. It's hard to beat how light the guitar is especially for an old man. the SS pickups on this make it a bit more versatile I think. I put 10's on my Mustang as well, and I have thought about trying 11's. Cheers.
I love HS setups on Mustangs so this would make a great modding guitar 👌
I picked one of these (exact same guitar) when they came back into stock
I think that run must have skipped some QC steps, because while overall I was fairly impressed with the guitar sound - and having some basic setup/work knowledge I got a reasonable guitar - if someone new to guitar bought it, it was really was the sort of 90s squier dogs. BUT I really do put that down to them rushing out to meet orders in that second run, most seem to have had much different impressions.
On the one I had the neck was crazy rough - I should have really returned it, but I bought it as a project (kinda, then I remembered I hate projects) - so I refinished the neck, which was actually really quite fun - for anyone wondering, I went to like 1000+ grit then did tru oil on it, rolled fret edges, took me about an hour or so (and a day or two of drying) and the neck was amazing. The frets werent sharp, but they were like valleys, some massively high - multiple frets that were unplayable. Nut was poorly cut and had to be replaced. But again I put this down to a dud/rushed manufacturing, because it doesnt seem to line up with anyone else.
I thought the weight, feel (after refinish) and sound were all pretty darn good. I quite like the pick ups. They were darker than my squier cyclone or duo sonic, bit hotter - but had a nice spank to them.
I do prefer the bullet mustangs over the sonics - but the maple neck option is super nice.
I did end up selling it in parts (as I did put the neck and electronics on a bullet body for a while - then sold all of those parts as well). But its a fun little beater. Though honestly, I'd spend another £100 and get a second hand classic vibe mustang.
Shame the QC was bad on yours
@@theguitarmanifesto I dont overly blame them too much, I do think it was an odd one out, I am fairly certain mine was the 2nd batch/run that they may have rushed a little due to demand. I seem to get bad luck with online "cheap" guitar purchases.
I plan on getting the sonic bronco bass soon, so I am certainly not put off them.
I'll say this, my mistake was not returning it and getting a new one, which Andertons would absolutely do. Most of these big guitar warehouse stores are so good for that, silly of me not to use it.
IS THAT YOU SINGING "GUITAR MANIFESTO" IN THE INTRO/EXIT? 😀 🎸 ya this is a pretty cool color, I love my Bullit H H Mustang, I prefer the indian laurel necks too, But this sounds pretty rippin for single coils, it would be cool to put a humbucker or p90 in the bridge but still gem as it is! cheers Rob!!!!
Yes it's me singing bro 🤘 good fun to mod these guitars 😀
I got one in sunburst. I must admit the fret work is surprisingly good. No sharp edges whatsoever. There was just one issue with the 10th fret but some polishing did the job. I also later polished all frets so they are smooth and I have to say it's a real joy to play. Also mine has a really long sustain and considering the construction of the guitar it's amazing.
Yes ! I bought one to tune it to FACGCE and the whole thing vibrates like a toddler on Red Bull
@@simonblanjean6538 it has some resonance, doesn't it? It must be the thin body. Anyway, it has some unexpected quality to the sound.
Very Cool, Thankyou. Stunning Looking and Sounding Guitar and Playing as Always. Have Been Tempted by The Squier Sonic Series. I have an Artist Guitars "Falcon" Guitar which is very similar to this with a Trem system. Such an Awesome Guitar. So Fun and a Joy to play. The Sonic Series Guitar that is really interesting me is The Purple "Esquire" with a single Humbucker Pickup. All The Best. Cheers
They're cool guitars I'm digging the single coils, the esquire is on my radar 👌
Just got the bright green one and it sounds a hell of a lot better than I imagined. $139 was a steal
So you recommend it? I wanted a CV, but I'm not sure in spending 450 dollars in it, 139 is a no brainer
Nice video, do you know if it has a square cut neck pocket like a tele, or rounded like a Strat?🤘✌️
Thanks, rounded
recently bought Sonic Mustang
i have planned to learning change a pickup with hot rails by myself
wish me luck 🤞
Ooh nice, I've made a few Mustang videos some installing hotrails. Just take your time, make sure you have a decent hot soldering iron.
bought one with maple fret and all black body, im surprised how fast the delivery was. only 2 days from CA to NV.
Ooh nice colour combo, faster shipping than mine 😂
That was the Limited Edition mustang then?
If you know, how does it compare to the Bullet mustang?
@@ibberman Yeah, there was the yellow finish with black strips on the body. I bought it at the official fender store. It was on discounted price $159, the yellow one goes for $175 more.
Actually really liking the sound of that bridge pickup, clean and dirty, it has a nice Dinosaur Jr vibe to it.
Has a certain sparkle to it 👌
I'm usually prefer clean sounds, but the dirt sounded better to my ear.
I have a '98 Affinity Strat. It's full thickness and to me, it's a bit heavy. I have crook shoulders and lower back, so a light weight/short scale seems ideal.
Yeah a belly carve would have been good, but at least there is a swimming pool. Cheers.
An offset would be a better option, super light good on the old back!
I just got one yesterday but the hh model, California blue and the low neck pocket has a small hairline crack thats kinda hard to see but im very disappointed because its new and not used and also the neck pickup is crooked in the hole in the pickguard for it, and also a scratch through the plastic film on the pickguard and neck pickup, and ive been so excited to get it, its a real bummer
Contact the seller and get a replacement, that's such a bummer dude 😞
Does having the more strat like bridge make a Mustang sound different to traditional lipstick tube version?
Yes most definitely it loses the chime and string bounce. A Vibratio is a good mod as I mentioned.
I kind of like flat guitar, as long as the edges are rounded nicely.
I like the tummy cut and the arm rest, I'm undecided.
The benefit of flat guitar is that you know and control more easily the «picking plane».
Great guitars
I was expecting you to croon over that progression at the beginning 😂😂😂
🤣🤣
The Bullet HH has black/dark gray painted route cavities, yes? I assume it’s shielding paint but maybe I’m wrong. Either way I see it’s absent here.
Yes the bullet has shielding paint for sure 💯
@@theguitarmanifesto Classic corporate logic- omit it on single coil guitars which are generally more noisy, but include it on humbucker equipped ones. ha! 🤨
What are you playing clean at 6:42 it’s giving me Say What You Want vibes
One of if my own jams 👌
Is this good for beginner. I don't know anything about electric guitars. I'm considering between this one and blue HH one. Any tips? Also, how's its connectivity since I won't be able to afford rich ass amp? 🙏🏻
They are great for beginners, HH or this depends on the style of music you want to play
New bucket list addition. Find a way to hang out with Ron, I mean, Rib, Doh...Rob one day. Fly out to UK and man that wiuld be bitchin!!!!
Would even!? Hahah
One day brother, maybe with DMT we could hook up in another dimension 😂😂
Bought a Sire T3 recently. It's the Tele for me. You should try them mate.
I've got my eye on a S7. I think after that I'll never need another strat ever again....with my own squire full mod & upgrade strat.
They look awesome
What no In Utero?! Haha . Ive the HH bullet mustang and it's hard to fault. Maybe I'll give it a dust off and some love. Shame no belly cut on these but seems like a good lil budget guitar still.
Copyright and CZcams don't mix 😂 it's a fun little offset for sure 🎸🤘
Pretty cool guitar! The neck needs the 'kiwi brown treatment' it's too damn pasty 😅.
How does the sonic mustang neck compare with the cv mustang neck? I'm asking because I used to own the bullet mustang, but couldn't get on with the skinny neck.
Thanks! Good to see you back on YT 🎉
It certainly needs a sun tan 😂 it's pretty much the same skinny neck as the bullet unfortunately.
@@theguitarmanifesto thanks again for the info!
No worries dude
I looked at the new Sonic HH but the slab body put me off and I went for a 2017 Bullet in the end .Sure they're both great.
Hi! I guess you are someone who has used both guitars. Are there any differences between Sonic Mustang HH and Bullet Mustang HH other than the old and new product? Sound, quality, usage etc.
I was thinking of buying a Sonic Mustang HH, but the store was out of stock. If there is no difference between the Bullet Mustang HH and the fact that it is basically new-old production, I will buy the Bullet Mustang HH.
I would be happy if you share your experience. Thanks...
@@canfrtna3787 The only difference I can see is the wood used and shape[o contours .Also the Sonic has 12 in radius fret board and bullets pre 2019 have 9 in .After 2019 they are the same .
You need to bring the showmaster it's kind of different guitar from squier by fender
Yeah I've had some of them in the past, great guitars
I'm sure that the slant on the pickups contributes to the harsh sound.
Has nothing to do with it bud
these are 250k or 500k pots?
They had no markings and I didn't have a multi meter to hand.
Little bit of blink 182s new song one more time on the clean tests I see 😉
Lucky strike I don't listen to them bud
i had a super sonic mustang and it was terrible i think i was unlucky to get one that i can’t play normally
i mean without super. only sonic mustang.
That's a shame dude
Bullet
That's red Meat.

これさ半田付け下手糞で俺のは最初音出なかったよ、すぐ原因判明して直したよ。
色々と楽しめるギターだ、ああ俺のは青いHHの方だけどね。
