He always trolled the Knicks, even during his playing days. I don't pay much attention to him.

Pierce, like most retired pod casters and analyst lack objectivity. Which is why I can't take most of them serious.
Randle was here during the rebuild, without him no one would have come to the Knicks to begin with, never forget that. Randle deserves to be shown the loyalty he has earned.

And look how many young talent we let go but kept him and I'm talking about draft picks that we developed then shipped them out quickly was only getting better and better Barrett was a twenty a game player and Toppin couldn't open up and expand his game with Randle in the way I'm talking about guys we drafted and saw some success with young healthy guns healthy bodies and he been hurt every year and we trade the future keep him and he breaks down three months into the season and y'all trade his backup to a team that eliminated us and he had a hard in it I bet we wish he was doing that dunking for us and wish quick was lighting it up from three and Barrett was slashing and dunking through the middle... @@user-wu1sr6bc9x Barrett and Toppin were never goin to work in our style of play, and were worth more as trade pieces to get to where we are around Randle. People like to say "look what this guy is doin on the team you traded him to now" but that guy likely would never be doin that if he were still on that previous team, which is why the team was willing to get rid of them and why the other team say the potential to work on their teams and accepted the trades.....its just how it works, you can play the coulda woulda shoulda game, but at the end of the day the numbers don't lie, if RJ and Toppin were going to work out they woulda stayed with em, you cant act like they never got a chance to show their stuff or something, cuz those guys got play time and starter time galore as you mention and the ceiling as a Knick was just reached, but not as a player on another team with a different coach/teammates/system so trade pieces they became, and the circle of life continues.
Wow 4:39 - 5:03 this is actually a GREAT point by KG. Thibs' hard-nosed style perfectly fits the culture of what NYC is all about. The Knicks golden-days in the 90s were dominated by rough, tough, scrappy defense. its what led us to those 50 win seasons, deep playoff runs every year, and 2 NBA Finals appearances.

Knicks in the month of January were 14 & 2 before injuries. All healthy and playing together before Randle got hurt.
That was it after the OG injury. Knicks win 1 out of the next 5 games. Pascal is free and their offense flows unhindered. With OG on the floor the Knicks don’t lose 4 out of 5 games. That’s a fact.

KG made an excellent point starting at 2:00. Knicks play with grit and toughness, bringing another co-star that doesn't fit that culture can mess everything up. The only star player I think that fits Knicks toughness and style of play is Giannis. Giannis is basically a tall Josh Hart.

The difference between KG and Paul Pierce is even though they both had battles and words with the Knicks when they played is that KG is serious and grounded in his assessments. Paul is still holding on to whatever happened during his playing days. KG is also right about Julius Randle. Brunson has his Robin, and Julius knows this. Also injuries had sokoto do with the rotation in the playoffs. They brought in Burks, and Bogdanovic for that purpose. They just got banged up. Randle, OG, Bogdanovic, Big Mitch all missed time in the playoffs. Not too many teams could overcome that.
Kevin Garnett is right about Julius Randle. The guy is a top all star. He: gives assists, gets a lot of rebounds, shoots some 3s, gets out in transition, can drive to the rim, can finish at the rim on ally oops, can finish at the rim on pick n' rolls, can post up and can do "wizard spins" in the mid-range area. I believe he's the 2nd coming of Zach Randolph...though he's more athletic. The injury this year wasn't his fault. He was knocked out of the air by a guy on the ground and fell on his shoulder...dislocating his arm. People are forgetting he was becoming a point forward. I think he brings fire to the Knicks...similar to Josh Hart.
The untouchables should be: Julius Randle, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby.

Yes the team weren't perfect, but they had the pieces together that complimented their star player perfectly.
