- JPMorgan has carried out its first live blockchain-based collateral settlement transaction involving BlackRock and Barclays, the U.S. banking giant said on Wednesday. JPMorgan’s Ethereum-based Onyx blockchain and the bank’s Tokenized Collateral Network (TCN) was used by BlackRock to tokenize shares in one of its money market funds. The tokens were then transferred to Barclays Plc for collateral in an OTC (over-the-counter) derivatives trade.

Your wrong chainlink can't be forked its useless if no one connects to feed chainlink data.
This is why you need to patent and protect your technology. No reason why the institution need to use any existing chains, they can run their own.

Onyx is not built on Ethereum, it was built on a Ethereum fork called "Quorum" and even it says in the advertisement that it is "inter-operable" with Ethereum!

5:10 I didn't hear that Onyx is built on ETH. Neither are JP in 'partnership' with Ethereum.
I heard that they have developed an ETH 'compatible' platform - one that they own. It's possible they could have a completely centralized and off-chain platform that does not benefit the real ETH networks at all.

It doesn't really matter though, as they will feed off each other being compatible. The more widely the standard is accepted the better it is for Ethereum.

Downside is homegrown solutions aren't scrutinized to the same level as others that have been around for many years. Rushing a product to market will eventually catch up with a negative result.

The Biggest Problem with all of this is th fact that People are Still "Building on ETH" ETH is Shit! Costs too much and is Too Slow. Solana is The Better Network for all of this . Solana is part of the way. The entire world won't run on Solana. It will run on multiple chains. Blockchains are like financial highways. So, who in the hell wants to navigate on one highway? no it won't. JPM doesn't work in isolation. There is plenty of cross-institutional work being done that ensures this platform will stay permissioned and most certainly PRIVATE.
The very last thing any of the global banks want is a decentralized token.
Banks will only want to use Overledger.
