@@AlexG-wk3nh i have mastered this now,……some machines have auto (hydraulic) ajustable forks and some dont. The ones that dont you only grease the left fork. When u need to move the fork to make them narrower or wider, you then put the forks on the floor, slightly tilted forward, so that the bar above the forks is about half way down. turn the steering wheel fully left, then drive forward to close them (narrower) and backwards to make them wider. (Adjust without getting out of the cab) This saves loads of time getting in and out the cab to manually adjust them by hand.
you dont travel with the load high. You strap the load if your doing distance or lifting over workers heads. look on the window to the right. All telly handlers have two black lines on the window. the top line is your maximum travel height.. the line should be the top of boom. the lower line, is lowest point when booming into a trench.

Yea i been passed 4 months now myself,…….i still ain’t mastered the moving the forks without getting out of the cab though
