Game: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Release Date:
Developer:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a 2017 action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U consoles. Breath of the Wild is part of the Legend of Zelda franchise and is set at the end of the Zelda timeline; the player controls Link, who awakens from a hundred-year slumber to defeat Calamity Ganon and save the kingdom of Hyrule.
Similar to the original 1986 The Legend of Zelda game, players are given little instruction and can explore the open world freely. Tasks include collecting various items to aid in objectives such as puzzle-solving or side quests. The world is unstructured and designed to reward experimentation, and the story can be completed in a nonlinear fashion.
Development of Breath of the Wild took place over five years. Wanting to reinvent the series, Nintendo introduced elements such as a detailed physics engine, high-definition visuals, and voice acting. Monolith Soft, known for their work in the open-world Xenoblade Chronicles series, assisted in designing landscapes and topography. The game was originally planned for release in 2015 as a Wii U exclusive title but was delayed twice. Released on March 3, 2017, Breath of the Wild was a launch game for the Nintendo Switch and the final Nintendo-published game for the Wii U. Two downloadable content expansions were released later in 2017.
Breath of the Wild received acclaim for its open-ended gameplay and attention to detail, and has been cited as one of the greatest video games of all time. Critics called it a landmark in open-world design, although it received minor criticism for its technical performance at launch. It won numerous awards, including several game of the year honors. By 2021, it had sold nearly 24 million copies, making it the best-selling Zelda game and one of the best-selling video games of all time. A sequel is in development for the Nintendo Switch and set for release in 2022. A crossover with the Dynasty Warriors series, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, was released in 2020.
Breath of the Wild is an action-adventure game set in an open world where players are tasked with exploring the kingdom of Hyrule while controlling Link. Breath of the Wild encourages nonlinear gameplay, which is illustrated by the game's lack of defined entrances or exits to areas, scant instruction given to the player, and encouragement to explore freely. Breath of the Wild introduces a consistent physics engine to the Zelda series, letting players approach problems in different ways rather than trying to find a single solution. The game also integrates a "chemistry engine" that defines the physical properties of most objects and governs how they interact with the player and one another. For example, during thunderstorms, metal objects will attract powerful lightning strikes; during a storm, therefore, a player must be careful not to wear metal, but may also throw metal objects at enemies to draw lightning to them. These design approaches result in a generally unstructured and interactive world that rewards experimentation and allows for nonlinear completion of the story. - Hry

Bruh dude actually
this playthrough is insane my guy, and then you come through with the timestaps on top of that? immaculate.
@@danielstevenjanerico2530 fo real
It's so long that timestamps don't even work after the 12 hour mark...
On the way to finding this I skipped over 5-10 other videos that started with a super loud "HEEEEY THERE GUYS THIS IS......" --- nope don't care. Thanks so much for putting this out, super chill and I can finally see the game.
Same. I like watching the play throughs to fall asleep to and so many players talk so loud and obnoxiously lol.
Facts 💯
Be sure leave a like and SMASH THAT SUBSCRIBE BUTTON ...ugh.
😂😂😂
Lol same here. I actually like watching playthroughs without commentary myself.
Can we just appreciate the effort this guy did to record 18 hours of this? That’s amazing!
Yessss ! and if they're listening. how did they record it? I have the Switch and don't know how to do this for upload.
@@DRMegaone they aren’t playing this on a switch it’s on an emulator and they record it on their computer
@@HarryPanayiotouSTKN they must've munched on cheetos, and pounded some redbull for this one...who could blame them? Legend.
At first I thought it was 18mins..like man..short game
💯
when you play this game for the first time it feels awesome and you can never get that feeling again, you can't ever lose the skill or memory.
Someone told me I was too old to play this. Someone else said everyone should play it at least once. I don't know what to do.
@@jeffghant4760 I’ve been playing Zelda since the very first one when I was 9, I’m now 43 and still play ( not as much as I used to) but they’re still awesome games to this day no matter your age
@@jeffghant4760 dude you might be too old to be playing video games for 10 hours a day everyday, (I mean I don't think anyone should do that) but video games are a great way to pass the time. I'm 26 and I'm not much of a gamer but I do have a switch (and all my older consoles) and I play for a few hours every so often (admittedly i have been putting like 3-4 hours everyday since the holidays lol). I really enjoy this game and I highly recommend it. If it interest you, you should go get it, just don't fuck up your priorities playing this (or any game for that matter) and you'll be okay.
@@willc2480 WW was my first LOZ game on the gamecube, then FSA, TP, and then OOT. I never played the older ones until I played through OOT.
@@bubblehead4270 ocarina was my 2nd favorite one, the original is still my favorite just because it was the one that introduced me to not only Zelda games but rpg as well
I put this on for background noise while writing a term paper - enough input to keep me from getting bored and i can enjoy the visuals without having someone talking to distract me. It's been super soothing and helpful, so thank you :)
back for the next paper, pleased to report it still works :D
@@majinie6375 good luck on the grades bud
@@guessowii first one turned out a B+ :D
New Guy Reporting! I'm doing the same while working on something else.
@@StrategicOwl fingers crossed, dude!!
I have been playing games for over 30 years and never thought that any game can make me feel like a child again. I started playing on WiiU just to check it out and that was It. The next day I bought Switch OLED with this game and I cant stop playing since. Pure magic. This is definitely the best game I have ever played.
Agreed with what you said 100%. I played it as a kid when Zelda first came out and now my son got the OLED Switch and this game I can' t put it down.
Just wait till they drop breath of the wild 2 in the next couple years maybe sooner
My game won't let me save any pictures...!?
You should play 2018’s God of War on the PS4. Next level 💩
Agree 100%! BotW is currently my #1 game ever. The previous tops were games like Majora, Ocarina, Metroid Prime, and RE4. The sequel is guaranteed to destroy BotW. Hopefully it comes next Spring as recently updated.
i'm usually used to loud videos since i watch a lot of jacksepticeye, but no- commentary gameplay's like this can be such a nice change of pace. thanks for this man, you earned a new subscriber :)

5:05:34 I shrieked with laughter at the t-bag on the enemy near the shock arrows. that is the absolute perfect reaction to finally crushing him and it makes me so fucking happy that you turned the camera so Link would be looking directly at it while t-bagging lmao this made my night
🤣 it makes my day when I get comments pointing out these little quirks of my video. Thank you.
@@EncryptedDuck I'm only six hours in - I had to switch to something else to help me fall asleep otherwise I wouldn't know what I was last conscious for lmao - so you can expect a few more at the very least 😁
@Mel's channel thank you 😊
XD at first i thought it was that or something to do with the collision of link and the lynel lol
he twerking
Did anyone else play the game without teleporting to shrines? I just enjoyed the scenery so much I didn't mind having to make a long journey on horse back every now and then.
I used shrines on the first playthrough. On the second and third I strictly walked, rode my horse, and rode the master cycle places
The trick is efficient traversal. Only travel on foot if you have not explored the area you are headed (use Hero’s path on map). Teleport to shrines when you plan on revisiting an area for later. Always listen to what you are in the mood for. This is just the way I like to play in the most balanced and efficient manner.
Love playing it that way! In fact, for an extra fun challenge I like to go through the whole game without activating any towers.
i once got bored and decided to go on a journey from akkala to hebra using the master cycle zero to throw some lizal tails into the snow only to find out they dont turn icy ._.
@@wolf2489 Yeah, it's only food like meat that turn icy. Very useful if you don't have an ice weapon or meals to keep you cool while exploring the hot Gerudo region. But it's only 1 min protection per frozen meat. And take advantage of shade to protect you from the sun. See, this game is such a masterpiece! Haha. Multiple solutions to any puzzle.
Watching this gameplay always feels therapeutic. One of the greatest games ever made in my book.
Only reason why I bought a switch ❤
it is an amazing game, but it is really overrated by people who think it is the best game ever
@@faxeditzz8128 the only limitations this game has are due to the Switch hardware otherwise it is a perfect video game.

No-commentary playthroughs are a breath of fresh wild
this man played 18 hours of legend of zelda this man's a champ
I know respect to him
This is WAYYY better than getting introduced to a "HEY GUYS WELCOME BACK TO MY CHANNEL".No commentary gameplays are better than listening to a man in their 30's talking about random things
Me: I need something I can listen to while I do something else. Something familiar and chill so it doesn't distract me too much.
This video + my over abundant love for this game.
Me: Perfection.
As a 100% completionist nutter this speedrun gave me anxiety XD
But seriously impressed that you got through it on a minimum and with such fantastic timing with the boss fights.
Also major thanks for not including banal commentary about nothing. Most excellent run.
3:03:52 - Had me rolling on the floor. That dude just went straight up KAMIKAZE, balls to the wall explosion. If we go down, so do you, Link.
I have this up as background noise for work and I loved 2:12:35 when you named the horse Moo Moo 😁
Mom: "Go to Sleep!"
Me: "Only one Video"
The Video:
This is me playing an open world game like this for the second time and I am so lost. This is also my second Zelda game. This gameplay is a lifesaver.
BOTW was such a masterpiece, can’t wait for Tears of the Kingdom.
Zelda: AND STOP FOLLOWING ME!
Link: Well excuuuuse me, Princess!
man It's insane this game is 5 years old.. man time flies
yay that was so good!! I loved everything about your playthrough, from all of the deaths to things like falling off the map to how you went through the whole side story about the person who gives Link his Gerudo clothes. I knew about that part but I had never seen any of the little cutscenes of Link getting thrown out when you try to sneak in with your normal clothes lol. it was awesome getting to see your playthrough, thank you for doing it!
I live for more no commentary videos, very easy to watch along gameplay without screaming !!!
I'd give almost anything to go back to playing this game for the first time.
4:37 this is probably my all time favorite opening to a video game. This moment gets me every time :')
i’ll never forget the first time i played i went straight off that clif, dumbest moment ever
It was breathtaking. I spent an extra 3 minutes on that frame just taking it all in
Love the fact that you don't miss any chests! That triggers me for some reason on other videos. Additionally, I appreciate the fact that you take your time on each message for people to be able to read comfortably without having to speed through it. Earned my sub, keep up the good work!
San Gabriel that finding all of chests in botw is part of the fun especially when the gamer finds gem stones.!!
I was watching this while listening to "sweater weather" because back in the day my ex wife and I bought our son a switch and he'd always have us help him with the harder areas and sweater weather was their favorite song for a long time, they're gone now and I just needed some nostalgia, thank you
Not going to lie, sometimes it's nice just to have something playing in the background like this
2:38:00
-Go, and bring peace to Hyrule...
*Falls into the water
🤣
old pal: how are you going to use that torch you just found there?
elf who just got out of a mystical, talking cave: to set things on fire!
This is my favorite BOTW longplay on youtube. I love how it's only 18 hours long but still gets through the main quests.
I used to watch my uncle play this. I wanted to watch a play through and clicked on like 10 different videos starting with "HEY GUYS WELCOME TO-". Sometimes I just want to see the gameplay, my uncle never really talked very much and so I find just watching gameplay on its on nostalgic. It reminds me of him. Thank you so much for this content.
This is the first full game walkthrough I’ve ever seen!
The modern games can't match the 8, 16 and 32 bits music. Nice video, you're awesome.
I was like "I wonder if there's a full playthrough of this game I can have on in the background while I wait for Tears of the Kingdom." Perfect!
Can't thank you enough for this amazing video. My daughter and I go in our basement living room, curl up on the couch and just have thi splaying in the background for hours. So relaxing, so soothing. Greatest game ever
I laughed so hard when you shot an arrow at the horse that kicked you.
I love the way this playthrough captures the wonder and curiosity of botw’s hyrule. So cozy.
Bf and I always fall asleep to CZcams and he loves watching me play BotW, we’ve been watching this every night 😂
I put this on as a background for doing chores, a compromise for not being able to play the game while I cleaned. Thanks for the good vibes! ☺️
this is perfect background for studying for my adhd brain - just enough stimulation without being too distracting. 10/10
I listen to this as an ASMR while I'm working. This game is so peaceful in many ways.
the part with Yunobo and the abosulte annoyance was amazing LMAO
Thank you so much for creating this, I love watching this game and just having it the background for ambience makes me feel so happy!
One last video before bed
I love these gameplays bc I use them as guides, sometimes I stop playing for a while and I forget what I needed, or I don’t know what to do, so these gameplays are really helpful
11:47:46 is someone cutting onions?
The amount of time you put into this video shows how much you care about your fans, thank you so much, this helped out heaps! You have gained a new subscriber
I enjoy watching this almost as much as playing, thanks for putting it all into one movie. I have played BOTW 3 times now, can't wait for BOTW 2. Thanks for hours of entertainment.
botw 2 should be insane!
If you feel like you're waiting too long, try age of calamity if you haven't. I speak from personal experience when I say it's one of my favourite games
Omg. Never played the game but now I must. I loved the yiga Clan Leader part. I laughed so hard. 😂😂
ive been coming over to this video because me and my friend used to study while the other one played BOTW. I got so used to hearing the gameplay that by the time we moved on to college I was having trouble concentrating. Around the end of 2022 I found this video and I can once again study.
So thank you
bro I didn’t know what to do after you kill the big elephant I kinda just started following your lead and now I’m getting better aha nice video
The moment when Link comes outside and we see the whole expanse of the open world is the best ❤❤
That's gotta be one of my top 5 most memorable gaming moments. Breathtaking
Whenever i watch gameplay I normally would like some commentary but for games like zelda it just doesn’t need any commentary it’s just really nice to watch
I didn't grow up a gamer so when people kept referencing Zelda all the time I just pretended to get it, over time I learnt the general feel of Zelda based on the references but as I apparently have a painting style similar to Zelda I figured it was as good a time as any to at least learn some of the gameplay... thank you for this, I don't know enough about this game to be able to sit through people discussing it as they're playing. This is exactly what I needed!
Thank you for this amazing dedication! As a fan of this series I loved it, very relaxing and we'll edited. This got me through some insomnia episodes so great job 🔥✌🏻
Do you know how he does the attacks during 5:36:25😭
Thank you so much for this walkthrough! I finally finished the game ♥️
I just recently beat the game, and I wanted to turn my experience with it into a story. I played the whole game with my siblings watching and adding their quips and input, and watching the gameplay without their constant prattle was so lonely. I didn’t want to replay the entire thing, so I found this and played it in spurts while writing. Thank you so much.
Do you know how he does the attacks 5:36:25
Beautiful game! Thanks for being my only source of entertainment for the last few days ❤️❤️❤️ I’ve been slowing playing it
Literally the best game on the Switch and overall with an amazing storyline and open-world features.
Kudos to you for recording ~18 hours of gameplay for us and, finally, a video without someone screaming "HeY GUyS WE ArE PLaYiN-".
I can always put this on the background when doing homework and always look back and watch. :)
Using this to remember the storyline for a dnd campaign I’m writing, it’s really helpful.
Thank you for uploading this with no commentary. I love just watching the gameplay. 😀
This is such a nice video to have on while i sleep, botw is so calming to hear, love the video !!
What I love about this game is that it combines action adventure, with a sandbox feel to it
It’s the t-bagging after killing the lynel for me. ♥️ felt that victory with you.
Even after a year I still enjoy watching this! Amazing gameplay!
I lost my copy of this game a while back and never got to finish it, It’s such a fun game honestly
I started to watch out of curiosity. Now I watch this as if it was a series lmao
It's very stress-relieving though, great gameplay :)
I'm currently playing this game. It is helping me out a lot. Especially when I'm stuck on looking for something and I can't seem to find it or I'm at lost.
I just can't believe the beauty of this game. Jaw dropping
I thought this said jew dropping💀
This makes me want to play botw again! I love the sounds, music, everything. Thank you for this upload💗
Makes me realise just how much I missed!🤦🏻♂️ Thank you so much for putting this up my friend 👌👍💪
Thanks for putting this out, been looking for other games to get into instead of really just Minecraft and Stray. This game looks like there's several things to focus on and just overall a very well crafted game. Also respect for recording 18 hours of this
watched this while doing 9 pages to math homework at 3am because I refused to do it during the day. finished it in an hour without getting distracted which im proud of, because this video had the perfect amount of noise and visuals that I didn't find my homework boring or repetitive since there was a lot of background noise and somehow managed to focus (also maybe cause im tired) !! 🤭🤭 time to listen to the remainder while trying to sleep
Never played any zelda games b4.this may be the 1st one to get me into them
One youtube video and ill do my homework.
The video:
great job with the long hours of playing we appreciate it.
I love how you actually die and don't cut it from the video.
This is the 2nd video I'm watching of this game and the different approaches to it show how versatile the game play is. Kind of like a choose-your-own-adventure type of thing.
Yeah okay, I'm old and late to the party, but I'm here 🤪
Nice Job. Very helpful and up to date. Subscribed.
Ahhh I remember my aunt letting me watch her play this when I was a small kid the good old days
This game is only five years old you small kid.

Thank you for making this video. This is the best legend of Zelda breath of the wild full gameplay video. This video has helped me beat this game so thank you a lot.
Great video! I'm impressed you did this in 18 hours! I watched a 100% completion playlist last year of this game, and it had to total over 150 hours. This was very entertaining and so many parts I laughed!
