  • The Xduoo MT-604 is a rather interesting product; a fully balanced (only balanced) hybrid tube amplifier…. With a volume knob to control each channel. I’ve heard good things. Do they hold up? For the most part, I’d say so. However, if you’re looking to tube roll and play around with that, I’d probably look for something like the Vali 2 or CTH. Link below to a video where I compared those amps.

    Hey! just found your channel... Great! it's pronounced Ex-duo...with an extra o. Bought one of these a while back and LOVE Schiit products as well. I don't think you realize what an absolutely fantastic headphone/preamp this is and having two volume controls is a GOOD thing! Dual mono, class A.. this little item is one of the greatest values in audio right now...The 4.4 pentatode input and output are a little strange but hey, it's balanced which is definitely better and just rca connections... Took me a month to get the right 4.4 to 3.5 connectors but was well worth it! Getting rca to balanced XLR cables was not that hard. I'm 67 an have been an Audiophile most of my life... particularly after working at the Record Plant recording studios back in the mid 70's and got to work with the likes of Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, and The Eagles. Nothing sounds better than listening to 2" 24 track masters in a control room with high end monitors (Westlake audio back then). Keep up the good work!

    Enjoy your revices. Just an fyi on this unit. It's awesome for people who's hearing differs from ear to ear. Love it for that reason alone. Thanks...

      I could see how this would be great for that condition.

      I have this condition. I hear frequencies fine from both ears but my balance is slightly leaning towards my left ear which has been driving me batty with headphones. This thing has been a godsend! PLUS it just sounds amazing. Running out of the balanced of a Zen Dac to the 604. Just fantastic. They just had this on sale for the holidays for $143 but they just bumped it back up. Great at $169!!!

    I've never had a balanced tube amp before so I picked the 604 for up just for fun. Running from my RME ADI-2 FS, compared to the headphone jack on the RME it just sounds a bit more dirty and low end, but not terrible but any stretch of the imagination. I set the 604 to 65% volume then I use the RME's volume knob to control the volume. I don't regret buying it since it was so cheap, fun little amp.

    Had this and sold it. It was a very nice amp but Vali3 is now better.

    Looks cool. Do you remember which tubes you rolled that you said sounded worse and sterile?

    Got mine 3 weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it. Do you currently have a favorite unbalanced Tube Amp? I have the Cavalli Tube Hybrid and I love it. However, it pushes some of my Beyerdynamics to 90-100% volume. I probably need to watch your Tube Battle videos again for some rolling ideas. Thank you for all your honesty you bring to your videos.

      I guess I don't see why not, but that would be kind of an odd set up. Are you going into another balanced out of this?

    I own this amp and have been enjoying it. What are your opinions on this amps sonic signature compared to the Lake People G111? The G111 is around $500 and was wondering if it was worth the extra cost over the MT604? Lake People have a version called the G105 MKII that has a balance knob which i need since i have an ear imbalance. Was interested in the LP amp since i have so many single ended headphones and i could just get an adaptor and use them with the LAke PEople amp. On the back of the amp it says "G105 MKll/G111" so i am assuming that the G105 and the G111 have similar sonic signatures if not identical. So anyway....would appreciate hearing your opinion between the MT604 and the G111. I run a Zen Dac with the volume knob so i have been dealing with the dual volume knobs on the MT604's. Without that it indeed would be a pain. Thanks man!

      Sorry, I know it’s been a couple of days. I am planning on responding, I just want to give it an appropriate response. Have you watched my review of the g111 compared to the Jot 2 and IEMagni?

      @@MrAyrit Yes i had watched that one before posting.

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  Před 2 lety +1

      So, going back to my reviews of each of those. I do think the g111 would be a noticeable upgrade in detail and clarity. Whether you’ll prefer that or not you’ll know better than I could. The g111 probably won’t be quite as rich sounding as the mt604, but I usually like to have 1 warm/rich/flavored amp and then a fairly clean one, just for a little variety. I’d say go for it, but as always, I’d try to look on the used market. G111s aren’t super numerous, but if you’re patient you’ll be able to grab one for $350 or less. I wouldn’t worry about buying used, very high quality amps.
