Saw this show live. It was that good. Nemophila are 4 years old today. They played their first shows under the name Nemophila Sept. 14, 15, 2019 at Metal Weekend in Tokyo, opening for Loudness and HammerFall respective days. (They'd played gigs previous Aug. 22 and Sept. 5 as "Mayu Session"-I saw the Sept. 5 show.) Who would have thought then that they'd be playing Budokan. Also, Oct. 1 they're doing a pre-recorded performance stream from the Tokyo School of Music (alma mater of Misa and Akane of Band-Maid). Apparently they had a chat or seminar with the students there after the recording-don't know if they'll show any of that.
Hello Mr. Otokabe, will you probably go to Budokan? If they manage to sell this concert, it will help them a lot in promotion.
I have a request/question about the other end of their concert list. Exactly the concert you are writing about, from 2019/09/05. Before mayu セッション, there were 3 bands playing there. I mean the first one (OA). Please write me the name of this band in Japanese. I made a very detailed list of Namophila concerts (I will look for someone to post it on Wikipedia (the list is similar to Hanabie's)). There is a photo of the poster for this concert, but the link does not work. The name ends with Ø. It says on the blog that it's some kind of idol or dance group?? in my images it appears after typing in the browser: Dig up! Your Wonderland MAYUセッション

@@musicaconqueror5477 I'm in Singapore, flying back to Tokyo today, see Lovebites tomorrow. Yes, plan to be at Budokan. I'll have to check my archives, but I know that I don't have the playbill or flyer for the Sept. 5 Mayu Session show. I vaguely remember the OA alt-idol group-they had a way too loud backing track. But I had no interest in them and don't remember the name (I've been to hundreds of club gigs like that). As I recall, I got to the club toward the end of their set. Actually I wasn't very interested in Mayu Session at the time either, but I was a fan of Saki from Mary's Blood. Also I liked Alice Kannagi, who was the leader of Alice Session, who were also on the bill. (I'm quite certain that the name "Mayu Session" was inspired by "Alice Session".) Anyway, as for idol groups with Ø in their name, 爆音少女症候群Ø comes to mind. Considering how loud that idol group was at the show, it might have been the above-named, as 爆音 literally means "explosive sound".
@@otobokegaijin6218 Yes, this band was OA at the second mayu Session concert. 爆音少女症候群Ø is still active, released Lp, Ep, and singles. In various information about 爆音少女症候群Ø, familiar bands XTEEN and HöLDERLINS also appeared. There are videos of them, there are many on the Internet, even a large note on Wikipedia. I am now supplementing and adding profiles of artists to the Rate Your Music database from my area of interest (Nemophila, Mary's Blood...). There is a lot missing there. There are big data problems. Now I'm collecting data about HöLDERLINS and there are problems with identifying the musicians in later years. By the way, Jackson from mixx was one of the founders of HöLDERLINS. And 爆音少女症候群Ø co-founded mayu (イマママ mayu). mayus didn't meet in 2019 because イマママmayu passed away in 2014).
Interesting fact: when I entering Nemo-StF-Enten data, I came across a problem (not yet resolved) with the role of Mr. Tsunao Yamai. Nemo described him as: Noh Musician. I reported the addition of such a role. However, there have been voices that there are musicians and actors there... and this is not precise. I was reading about Noh for a long time yesterday and determined that Tsunao Yamai is a shite performer, and the vocal parts in Noh are utai (hayashi musical parts). Katari spoken parts seem to be classified as utai. I think Tsunao Yamai's role in Enten should be called: utai noh (vocal noh?).
The interesting thing is different. While reading about noh, I learned about its structure and came to the conclusion that Babynetal, Passcode, 爆音少女症候群Ø and probably many other bands operate based on the same structure.
So much time for one tiny footnote about the role of Mr. Tsunao Yamai. The effect (Enten) is amazing though. Shamisen meets up sometimes, but I think I'm hearing utai for the first time in rock.

When they announced the tour and said that the location of the finale would be announced later, my first thought was: Budokan?!?! Second thought: no, no, it's not time yet, they are still too small, it is too big...
This will be an important moment in their career.

This was produced so well and really gives an idea of what these ladies are like live. Except you have to turn up the volume till windows break haha. PS. There's a new Japanese all lady group called East of Eden that are really worth checking out.

But NEMOPHILA will definitely play at the Budokan, the official NEMOPHILA on Twitter has announced it, and ticket preorders have already started. I found out about it on their live broadcast the other day, and I pre-ordered right after it went on-air.

Despite being old enough to remember when Elvis was a youngish recording star, I've managed to see the following Japanese all-female metal and hard rocks bands live in concert: Band Maid (shows from all four U.S. tours, plus two meet-n-Greets); Nemophila (shows from both U.S. tours/mini-tours); Hanabie (a show from their only U.S. tour); Passcode (a show from their only U.S. mini-tour). Now, if Lovebites would just do a legitimate American tour, my live experience of Tier 1 all-female Japanese hard rock and metal bands would be complete. (Of course, I would still go to future "lives" from these bands, as well those of several other groups). When should I stop going to high-quality rock shows? When I can longer get up off of the couch! (My first legitimate concert was pre-"Dark Side" Pink Floyd at the Hollywood Bowl in 1973).
